And you didn't prove that.
It meant life as a whole could be born and grow again. That includes new Ancients. Even Emet's self-made Hythlodaeus sex doll couldn't completely obfuscate Venat and her supporters' motivations, and he was a literal re-creation of a guy who sacrificed himself to Zodiark made by another guy who's been merrily committing genocide-by-rejoinings for eons.
Even THAT source is less biased than you coping trancers.

Bros, why don't we just agree that its ambiguous exactly where the aether for Zodiark was going to come from, but the fact remained that the Ancients were just going to keep fucking sacrificing shit to Zodiark in a sunk cost fallacy with no obvious end in sight? Its really just a matter of the degree of how bad the plan was at this point, that it was a bad enough plan that supporters rallied to Venat's cause is the important part here.

A willful headcanon to absolve the ancients and paint them as dindus to service the "they were noble and amazing and selfless and would never do anything bad" narrative that exists only to point Venat out to be the sole, uninstigated aggressor.

That's why we can't agree. Because it requires offering far too much credence on a headcanon that exists solely to push a 2-year long false narrative.

Honestly, the biggest case against the sacrifice being animals and trees is volume. Remember just *how much* aether an Ancient carries. A single, normal-ass ancient had enough aether to pop out something like a Primal using only their internal reserves and it would at best leave them winded and wanting a nice meal.
The sheer number of normal plants and animals needed to equal even a single ancient soul would have been huge. Even with dedicated farming and cultivation efforts, you'd be lucky to be able to pull out a few souls a decade, pulling out millions of souls would take eons.
At the very least, the Ancients would have had to make new creations specifically to serve as some kind of aether battery, something living with a soul of its own even if that being wasn't technically an 'Ancient'.

Additionally, as I mentioned before: trees and small animals are essentially just aether given different forms. As is everything else. If such a thing alone would suffice to summon or feed Zodiark, then why not go for the far more obvious option? Nix the sacrificing of 75% of your population and instead just pool your aether reserves together in a non-lethal way and bring him forth like that. Surely, the aether harnessed by all of Ancient civilization would far outweigh the aether begotten by many, many lifetimes of.. farming. To me, that just indicates that souls were a necessary element here: further lampshaded by the fact that unlike with any other Primal I can think of including Hydaelyn, the souls sacrificed to Zodiark were maintained within him in a somewhat cognizant state as well.

But I'm not arguing that the reasons for the sundering aren't manifold. They very much are. It's more so me arguing in opposition to this fanfiction that Amaurotines were definitely just planning to sacrifice a few animals. This narrative that exists solely to whitewash the Amaurotines and pass them off as goodie-two-shoes who would never resort to amoral and desperate measures to get their friends back (which; they did just that post-Sundering. We know those guys as Ascians.) so that we can paint the Sundering as a black and white situation where the Ancients were never, at any point, morally in the wrong, were completely selfless and pure and Venat and her allies were violent, genocidal monsters who wiped out a world of people for (completely inscrutable and opaque) reasons unknown to all, other than "they didnt want to kill animals". (as if that makes any sense)

Its not just about a one-time influx of aether, its about Zodiark having enough souls within himself *continuing to generate aether* that he is self-sustaining. This also explains why, unlike 'modern' primals, Elder Primals like Zodiark and Hydalean do not leech the land dry and render it uninhabitable. Their aether is being continuously replenished from the souls within them, something that 'mere' aether wouldn't be able to do.
If you replaced the souls within Zodiark with raw aether from rocks and shit, you could get a soul back out but eventually Zodiark would start running out of gas and something as big and powerful as Zodiark would be an environmental disaster in terms of aether depletion.

When Hythlo talking about sacrifices, were are shown 3 Ancient figures standing in queue. And each time sacrifice happens, one figure disappears.
They represent the Ancient population of course. Now, you might notice when Hythlo talks about world restoring itself after second sacrifice we don't see a new figure appear in a queue...
...why is that?
That's because "New life" was not new ancients. It was literal new life, be it trees, animals, or even proto-miqotes in caves. Not ancients. Not things that "truly alive" according to ancients.
And Venat, unlike Ancients or doomer Hermes loved this new life so much that she split the star to protect it.

90% of mods rely on either titan's or tsar's body modeling (bibo was mostly tsar's work). Every other variation of what we have came from those two, and I don't think titan is gonna make another one any time soon. They truly need to stop treating level 50 as "early game" this is the endgame for ARR, so many ARR classes still have a lot of their kit intact by 50, but the new ones are jokes.
NIN and MNK have access to their basic tools, even if NIN has to manually refresh their buff, DRG hilariously don't even get a HUD element till ShB so they feel very similar, SAM and RDM are still designed to feel like full jobs at 50.
Now SMN is fucking retarded at any level range but their bahamut skill at 50 might just be one of the worst cases of this, which is easy to fix just let people use it right away out of combat instead of having it be so awkward about it. BLM needs something better than fire 1 and firestarter procs at 50 too, even better if you go the extra step and give them triplecast.
RPR is a level 50 job that plays and feels like a level 30 job. Worst yet RPR is a level 70 job that plays and feels like a level 50 job. RPR is clearly desgined to be at minimum played at level 70, and it shouldn't be like this.

That's possible, but Hydaelyn did not channel a passive aether shield with her mere existence, while Zodiark did. Hydaelyn was also more like Ysayle, cladding herself in the form of a Primal, whereas Zodiark was itself a being that was ostensibly "piloted" (by Elidibus at first, later by Fandaniel) Of course, there was the element of being a heart, but the way Zodiark is portrayed is far different from how Hydaelyn is portrayed (who looks more like a spruced up Venat and is also no bigger than a regular Ancient)
You're right, though, that Ancients may replenish their aether as the sundered do, but I don't know if that applies to torn souls in some state between life and death, residing within a primal.

(In jarring conflict with the reality. In conflict with the very groundwork ARR and XIV's story as a whole is grown from.)

See this is what I don't get about Marefags - except for the shitty tattoos and the horrifying face sculpt everything about that outfit is completely doable within the game itself. You can assemble that same look with the Tamamo headband, along with any suitable sandals (such as the Isle Shepherd's Sandals), a flowing dress with open shoulders (such as the Spring Dress), and any leather choker.

You could do this all within the game, and since it's in the actual game you could look good to EVERYONE, and not just to fellow depraved modbeasts who choose to share with you.

What is the point of focusing on the leveling experience so much unless they completely rework the job? WHM desperately needs higher end flexibility and I feel like all of their CDs are too long. 90s Benediction, 60s Asylum, 120s Liturgy would be nice. I also desperately want Seraph Strike as PvE skill, something like damage neutral GCD 45-60s CD with 10s Protect (or Shell if they want to be gay and make it magic only) Also getting gauge heals before your basic heals just seems exceptionally dumb because then you can't do anything if you run out of resources.

The point is just that gauge heals should be your first resort, whereas the levelling experience currently trains new healers to think in the opposite fashion by getting them very comfortable with spamming Cure2 and Medica2 before giving them the Lily substitutes

I don't agree that the Ancients are flat-out incompatible with Dynamis, or else the Final Days would not have been able to warp their creation magicks to manifest their fear and despair into monsters. When the Ancients say they can't manipulate Dynamis, they probably mean they can't manipulate it in the same way they can aether - freely and easily. But neither can we, Dynamis is not something you use and control, it is emergent and guided by emotion.
Something to consider is the final duel with Zenos, where you guys go all fucking Dynamis on each other after a speech about spent candles. Consider that limit breaks are often something that happens late in a fight, it could be argued that your lifeforce, your energy, your aether is spent by the fighting and so the manifestation of dynamis through a Limit Break is most likely to happen in that state of exhaustion and desperation.
That would explain Elidibus using a Limit Break. You could say he is channeling it from heroes across the rift but you could also say that he exhausted himself in his phase 1 battle with you and and in phase 2, more hard-pressed than any Ancient has ever been, he was finally able to wield Dynamis.
It would be Elidibus too, a guy who has spent 12,000 years nurturing heroes to become more than the sum of their parts, who has likely viewed countless impossible and transcendent acts and moments.

Nothing in this game teaches you how to play your job correctly despite the extremely rigid job design but WHM is possibly the most intuitive and easy-to-figure out job in the game, Gauge heals are instant, free, and have a cap, it should be fairly obvious they are a first resort when you start unlocking them as they are simply easier to use and have no drawback other than resource limit. Also giving the player all of the most interesting skills early on means they get nothing but garbage as they level up which is an incredibly dull leveling experience. You should feel as if you are improving and unlocking neat new abilities, not just getting redundant abilities that you might use once you burn through all of your resources.

Elidibus is spamming LBs like crazy later in the fight, which is probably because he's yoinking that power from the guys whose essence makes up his very "WoL" form and who he keeps beseeching to fight by his side.

I'm trying to find a good fit of a class for me to play but I can't decide or figure out what to play. Classes like NIN are beyond me in skill level but other ones like SMN, DNC, and RDM bore me tend to lose interest fast

when i was a new player i was afraid of using them in case something went wrong and i would need to rely on heals that were better, so i was using cure 2 for most of the time

No, the point was to add a soft-continuation to Omega's story, where during the regular raid narrative, he's trying to understand where the WoL's power comes from, because it's far beyond Omega's calculations and metrics.
At the end of the Omega raid series, he starts to understand a glimpse of what it means to be human, or to have "a heart"
The ultimate just plays on that and gives us a version of Omega that survived past that point and long enough to harness that.

This is a high fantasy setting nestled in the Final Fantasy franchise with a plot defined by "anything is possible, miracles do happen" where a central plot point is that there is an observable phenomenon of literally altering and breaking the rules of reality through sheer force of wheel. He is, but with the rejoinder of Ardbert's sliver he's technically 9/14 whereas all other creatures are at maximum 8/14 with all other shards being 1/14.
Azem was already one of if not the strongest living creature prior to the sundering as confirmed in the Unsundered segment, and even 9/14 of him can fight better than most fully unsunderd ancients, even the other convocation members.

It's probably one of the few things I genuinely dislike about EW. you set a conductor for the hunt train (whoever does the callouts) and in doing so you won't see other people's messages in chat whatsoever, they'll all be blocked by the plugin. it'll also open up your minimap and automark wherever the hunt location is that the conductor shouted out and when changing maps the plugin will teleport you to the nearest aetheryte the instant the mark is called out so you will never have to worry about falling behind because of congestion

bear in mind it only works for endwalker and shadowbringers so if you're doing ancient hunt trains in stormblood and older areas the plugin won't teleport you into the next zone but for all the modern hunt trains in endwalker and shadowbringers it works amazingly well

Both of which were, to his knowledge, impossible.

So its extremely likely that the ascians had no idea that what you did with Ardbert was possible. If they had lived long enough to study what was done with you, yes they probably would have tried replicating it and seeing if they could become full ascians again.

i don't really feel that's poor writing, you're going to have to make some concessions or explain away some things to make everything fit together
i honestly think the timeloop method and how Venat/Emet were involved with it was probably the best way they could make something like that work, and that's why i really quite enjoyed EW's story

The problem is that everything related to metion is based on dynamis, which no one else knows exists, and Venat has no proof. And the only thing that Venat knows for CERTAIN will result in success is sticking to the script she was given from the future, any attempt to derail that plan with proactive action risks everything. Her position is too weak to try to play for the win from the start, and trying too soon could cost her everything.

The plan that Venat seems to have taken, based on dialog, was to bide her time until after Zodiark was made, and afterwards use the time that Zodiark bought them to try and address the core of the issue and solve things for real. Which is, by far, the safest option. At that point the first final days are on pause and people would believe her that there even IS a problem to solve. She could push people in the right direction and lead them to metion without ever having to admit she knew the truth from the start.
But by that time the ancients were too all-in on the Zodiark plan and were unwilling to think beyond short term salvation. Beyond her group of dissidents, everyone else was basically okay with just hiding behind zodiark for all time. They've been pretty insistent that the hydaelyn/zodiark arc is capital o Over so I expect we're done with the ascians/ancients almost completely. I expect we'll still get some echos of Azem stuff since it's so intertwined with who we are and the other shards.
As far as Dawntrail even from what little they've hinted at there's definitely some wack shit going down in Tural in relation to the ceruleum and they showed us a pretty weird robot thing that doesn't look particularly Allagan-ey, so I'm curious if we're going to inadvertently unearth some more wild shit from previous calamities, older civilizations, or maybe links to other shards? Then there will be new threads to follow from that.

Devs already said Zodiark is not evil, nor does he control the Ascians. He is basically a perfect primal because he was created by the Ancients. They knew exactly how much aether he needed to be sustained, and were immune to any passive tempering effects.

Then they could cool down and replenish their aether, and then give him more for the second sacrifice.
Clearly, there is a mechanism in place that doesn't allow for that. Almost as if souls are a prime component...

It's a casual game, it will never be the grindy game that you can spend hours and hours on everyday, it is fundamentally designed to be done casually and take breaks from, and everyone who fails to realize this all suffer trying to force the square peg into the circle hole.

Every big MMO needs to be a casual game at heart, with some (optional) hardcore content, because it needs to bring a lot of people to the game and people tend to be casuals. That's why we don't see hardcore PvP focused MMOs succeed.
