>>446775634 Question, do you think the US won in Vietnam?

If 10 guys come at me with knives and I kill 3 of them before they stab me to death then I win because I killed more of them.

>>446775804 >1. defended themselves from German conquest So half of the allied countries lost the war by your logic. And Japan won.
>2. the territory of Soviet Union Cool, they redrew some lines on a map. What good did it do for them? Look where they ended up today compared to germany.
>>446775834 Germany was rekking USSR, but in turn got rekt by US/UK and couldn't continue rekking USSR. Is that simple enough for you to understand?
>>446775967 Nobody won the vietnam war.
Anonymous
>>446776946 >Cool, they redrew some lines on a map. How much mental gymnastics do you need to not consider taking over half of Europe as a win?
Anonymous
>>446776946 >What good did it do for them? Look where they ended up today compared to germany. If we go by this line of thinking then every country has lost every war. I mean, if you can retroactively lose a war because your nation crumbles after it ended then that means you can never win a war, because no country last forevers, they'll all fade away in the end, and so any achievement they have will be rendered null.
Have you actually been trying to send an anti-war message this whole time and I've just noticed it or something?

Any other Tobii enjoyers like this new camera boost? It's super useful and finally gives my eyes utility in DCS.

>>446777124 >What good did it do for them? Look where they ended up today compared to germany. Again. I'm looking at reality and you're someone who cant comprehend anything more nuanced than a stamp on a paper
>>446777178 >retroactively lose a war I've said nothing such. I'm just saying that any sane definition of "winning" means clear benefits for the winner compared to before the war. You haven't been able to point out any.
Anonymous
>>446777804 I think the clear benefit was avoiding genocide
>yeah but millions of soviets died Yes, and that number would be a drop in the bucket compared to what Germany would have done if it had managed to completely crush soviet forces.
Anonymous
>>446778095 >avoiding genocide That just means they didn't lose as badly as they could have. And it was not their own efforts that saved them.
Anonymous
>>446778559 Ok so according to you you can only really win if you come out better than you were before? In that case, let's say you get into a fight, someone attacks you, and after a scuffle you manage to get him off of you and he runs away, would you say you won that fight?
Anonymous
>>446778851 >you can only really win if you come out better than you were before What other sane definition of "win" do you propose?
>would you say you won that fight? nobody won that fight. Would you want that to happen to you?
Anonymous
>>446779131 >What other sane definition of "win" do you propose? Accomplishing your objectives I would say. If my objectives are surviving then I would say fighting off an assailant is a victory to me. I don't know, to me this seems like a pretty clear definition of winning, if anything YOUR definition of winning seems very weird to me.
>nobody won that fight. Would you want that to happen to you? I don't want that to happen to me but if it did happen to me I would 100% say I won that fight, because I managed to survive, which is my main objective.
Anonymous
>>446779542 >Accomplishing your objectives Not getting attacked by Germany and losing 30 million men was their objective. Everything after that is damage control.
>I don't want that to happen to me So being a "winner" is a bad thing according to your definition.
>I managed to survive That means the other guy also won the fight dummy.

I think I'll stop here, I don't see the point in this anymore.
