It can be really hard trying to get into new characters. Unless they're Serena or Ines tier, they always feel like they do way too little damage while taking way too much damage and having too little damage compared to my invested Jayber.

Sometimes I wonder if that feeling but reversed is why so many people have a low opinion on Jayber, if it's because he's the last guy they invested in.
Or, y'know, maybe the average person just invests in only Ines tier charactes.

Remote hack in open worlds exist, that's a good use case for his turrets.
It just kind of sucks that the only reason to do open world remote hacks is Last Dagger farming.

And then there's his powers of being a super 3l1t3 hackmaster with super IQ autistic savant powers so he should be good for any hacking tasks, except they gave the hack stuff good passive to Enzo for some reason, and yes I have been upset about this for almost a year now like the guy who has superpowers to make objects out of nothing should have the bonus of giving you extra attempts on one-use keys meanwhile Jayber the genius with mechanokinesis that can directly interface with objects using his brain should have gotten the all-hacks-are-easier passive.

Just take a look at the current progression of jiggle physics despite all the resources poured into them since uFreyna’s release and at the cost of actual content. If that’s not enough to open your eyes, then nothing will.
It’s not about the devs being lazy or incompetent, I think they’re just too skeptical to invest real effort into a game they know they might pull the plug on at any moment. That’s probably why we keep getting these low-effort updates and the reason why they hired more people to make more skins for each two weeks.

Let's talk about the recent Ines nerfs (and other issues)
The recent patch released by the developers primarily consisted of Descendant rebalancing. Less popular ones finally received some much needed and long overdue buffs, but the most polarizing of the changes (and what I'll try to address in this post) are the Ines nerfs.

The Nerfs

The patch notes can be found here [tfd.nexon.com] but to summarize Ines's 1st and 4th skills had damage numbers cut and cooldowns significantly increased. Her 4th in particular had its cooldown tripled and also hits less frequently. In addition, her 1st skill no longer targets enemies without direct line of sight or chains through any form of terrain.

Time of the Hunting Hounds, which used to be the better of her Transcendent mods, now does absolutely nothing except change skills to Tech and provide multiple skill stacks. Wait, that's not quite right. It modifies her 1st skill damage numbers even lower than using nothing at all!

Now here's my question: what did this achieve?

Ines can clear mobs just as effectively albeit less easily and flexibly than before. The increased cooldowns can be mitigated with sources of reduction from your Reactor, External Components, and Arche Tuning. Module loadouts could be further optimized to squeeze out more damage to make up for what was lost. Realistically, Ines is still one of the best Descendants we've got for farming content like 400% dungeons.

At best, these hasty nerfs are a slight annoyance and only serve to kick the can further down the road.
At worst, it risks eroding players' trust and confidence.

The developers have just demonstrated they aren't above releasing powerful characters and nerfing them when the next shiny new thing comes out. Now, when deciding to spend time and money on the game, there will always be a little voice in the back of your head telling you to reconsider. The Speed Problem

First it was Bunny, then Freyna with Venom Synthesis, then Ines, and now basically anyone with sprint speed Weapon Cores and enough crowd-clear. Participating in many multiplayer activities without any form of movement boosts in your loadout often means not participating at all. It's a common complaint from players and one that's often used as a reason for nerfs. Dungeons that consist of rooms connected by long, winding corridors exacerbate the issue further, sometimes resulting in players being left outside of combat range for entire dungeons until they're teleported to the boss.

Changes in map design and giving players outside sources of movement speed through the form of Weapon Cores and Arche Tuning have helped, but the problem still persists. In the case of the latter, high level Weapon Cores aren't readily accessible to many players (especially newer ones) and only widens the speed disparity.
However, I do think being able to sprint and grapple quicker has been a great quality of life adjustment. Nerfing movement and lowering the sprint speed cap might fix things, but it'd certainly be less fun, right?

Solution: Implement a buff (call it "Second Wind" or something) which would be automatically applied to players who fall behind.
It should quickly scale up to the sprint speed cap depending on distance to the lead player.
This means a player who wish to rush ahead may freely do so, and would in effect buff others instead of detrimentally impacting them.
To not diminish the effect of Weapon Cores and the identities of "speedster" Descendants, it should apply if and only if all the following conditions are satisfied:

1.Multiplayer
2.Maps with multiple rooms/zones
3.When progressing to the next waypoint
4.Not in the lead position

The Loot Problem

Every single one of us has experienced this.
A hoard of enemies gets erased in the blink of an eye and the previous round of equipment drops along with them.
This issue is especially noticeable when farming in multiplayer since the max floor loot count seems to be shared by all team members. And of course, that's not even mentioning how quickly the strongest mobbing Descendants can kill everything. To a lesser extent, drops can also fall off ledges and cliffs into inaccessible locations and be lost forever. This might not be a pressing issue for longtime players who have little to no need for resources anymore but definitely hurts newer or more casual ones, especially those who have yet to craft a Fellow.

Solution: All loot that despawns within a radius of 50m of the player is sent directly into your inventory. This should include all equipment, gold, kuiper, and basic materials, but would not apply to ammo and hp/mp. Essentially, if you're in the same room as enemies are being killed, you're guaranteed all the drops.

"But I can't hold all these loots," you say.

Easy. Take auto-disassembling from Fellows and make it a default feature. It's too great of a quality of life improvement to keep from new players. Just remember to give Fellows even more skills to compensate; imagine if the healing dog also came with a healing modifier stat bonus and the ammo dog increased maximum reserve ammo. Opens up the devs to create even more diverse Fellows: mp recovery, speed boost, enemy taunt, inflicting status, etc.

First, let’s all just acknowledge that there is no single difficulty that fits every single player. Some wish to crunch the numbers to create gamebreakingly optimized builds, others enjoy farming for progressing and want casual grinds. I believe the developers have done a great job so far finding a sweet spot but as their playerbase ages toward endgame, there exists a growing crowd of those longing for more challenges.

These desires can be seen in the complaints about the devs nerfing Colossus fights and Invasions, routine calls for Descendants and weapons to be nerfed for making the game too easy, and even a certain content creator releasing a sardonic retirement announcement video complete with a build showcase capable of one-shotting Death Stalker with multiplayer scaling.

But let's face it: this game does not require a ton of skill to play.

There's no meaningful difference in skill level between pressing a single button as Freyna and pressing all your skill buttons as Viessa. Farming Molten Fortress pre-nerf isn't some intellectual achievement; it just means you had to play a little minigame between boss phases. Does knowing about weakpoints and aiming at them mean you're ready to go pro? At most, one could argue that optimizing builds using math and trial-and-error takes the most thought in this game, but that can be easily circumvented by simply looking up a build.

Developers simplifying game mechanics in order to improve accessibility is a good thing. However, doing so in a live service environment without providing additional sources of challenge is unfair to players.

Alright, thanks for sticking with me so far. While keeping the previously discussed problems and solutions in mind, let's talk about balance.

Currently, TFD balancing revolves around two core activities: mobbing (400% dungeons, Sigma Sector) and bossing (Colossus fights and Void Erosion Purge to an extent). Likewise, Descendants are evaluated around how quickly and easier they can clear said content. Ines, Contagion Freyna, and Bunny are rampant in mobbing activities because their kits are designed to excel at exactly that. Bossing activities are dominated by Serena and Gley for the same reason. Some Descendants are more Jack-of-All-Trades, Master-of-None; others feel like they don't belong at all.

This could be due to dated design philosophies or a lack of a niche for them to flourish in. For instance, if the above difficulty examples were implemented, there would be a newfound need for healing, buffing, survivability, or area control capabilities.

Reworking kits and Transcendent mods can also have a significant impact toward changing how Descendants are played and balanced. There should be a goal in mind rather than simply nerfing popular ones and buffing the rest. The devs have already stated that they want to encourage Descendant and playstyle diversity.

Ultimately, this is a direction the developers will need to decide on.

For now, let's just talk about how to rebalance Ines.

Perhaps it would be better for the bonus would only apply to the vouchers? They can only be redeemed for a set amount of rewards regardless. But it's also worth thinking about how Ines clears missions much faster than other descendants which have higher damage. (And, it's not only one issue.)

Here's some of the issues:

1) Ines does not need to aim (except in the sense of positioning her V and Z skills)

2) Ines has a very wide AoE (with the exception of her V skill) - this means not only does she not have to aim, she does not have to concern herself all that much with positioning. It also means that one use of her skill has the effect of many skill uses of some other descendant with a smaller AoE. Except, it's also faster (because it takes time to lay down many uses of other skills).

3) Although her Q skill no longer passes through terrain (and, sadly, has a shortened duration when terrain combined with movement are unfavorable), her C skill currently ignores terrain.

Anyways, ... there are a few minor areas where I think Ines should be improved. And, compared to previously she has been nerfed. But when compared with other descendants she still has some major advantages which winds up being maybe a 2x or even 3x clear speed advantage.

Eisemos 4 can be spammed to the same effect. Lepic can combo his 1 and 3 to the same effect. If people don't have a problem with the buffs male characters got they shouldn't have a problem with Ines or Freyna.

I'd argue that the male descendants didn't need the buff because who is using Lepics 2 now?

They aught to revert the nerf on Ines. If they want to touch up her chaining abilities so she can't wipe an entire map in an instant that's their call but this was stupid and they can't leave her 1 broken and her cooldowns jacked especially since it didn't even accomplish anything.

What's going to happen now is they are going to have problems no matter what they do and in time people will settle on an alternative to Ines that you all will whine about and the cycle will repeat itself.

People aren't using male characters because they nerfed Ines either, if they had focused on pumping out more content lots of people would have switched to the newest thing anyway.

You raise very good points but alas you're typing it on Steam discussion, where it is full of those who refuse to read anything beyond 3 sentences that are against their ideals.

Ines' nerf was, in my honest opinion, completely pointless; it served no greater purpose (she is still strong just more tedious to play) but to piss off a lot of the players who relied on her too much while eroding the trust that players barely held anyway due to the carried name Nexon.

Cores COMPLETELY made gun-play unbalanced which put guns in a VERY good position but because the majority of the content available is basically decimating hoards of weak mobs where skill descendants excel at, guns don't really have a place to truly shine.

There's the later stages of VEP that can allow the showcasing of absurd gun power but the mode is heavily dominated by Gley/Serena for the exact reason of gun-cores being pretty damn strong and their kits meshing extremely well with guns. Put the same gun on anybody else who isn't Gley/Serena and the clear-time skyrockets, still clearable just not as fast which shouldn't be a problem but it is.

It was a great idea with a horrible execution because of the ultra inflated values that weapon cores gave to weapons coupled with the lack of real content available to use said guns.

Hitting a mob who has 100k hp with 100k damage or a 1 million damage is the same result a one shot . But the 1 million damage skill now has its cool-down doubled . But some players don;t seem to understand this , they see big damage and says it fine :steamfacepalm:

if you play solo where you don't effect anybody or if you grind for hours on end . you are now taking more time to complete whatever you want to do with ines. I have used her before and after 'nerf' both time she has the ability to run past enemies putting them behind her, use her 1 and hit enemies behind or off to the side not in view

You get 3-4 randoms
1 a speedrunner who plans to race to end fantasizing they are doing everyone a favor being maxed out optimized for killing
1-2 are looking to loot chests for parts for Keelan, Ines or the dogs
1 is just chilling maybe just leveling, VV can be a good general location to level Descendant, weapons and get decent gold all in one spot

The speedrunner races to the end, the initial 3 battles are not an issue can be cleared solo even when enemy stats are maxed for 3-4 people
But that last fight, speedrunner enters room and force teleports the others to the end
Problem, 1-2 people were not done looting chests
Problem, everyone who gets teleported gets frozen for 1-2 seconds doing nothing
Problem, that person leveling weapons gets little because you get more weapon XP using a weapon but the speedrunner denied the XP by solo clearing
Where is the 'help' the speedrunenr gave?

2 faults here
1 - All gold level 100 items cannot be auto-disassembled even by the dogs forcing players to manually mark each one junk then clear them, this can be done during a run that explains why some people lag behind providing another reason NOT to force speedrunning
2 - This does not account for the ammo module problem that not enough recognize the ammo the module is supposed to pickup but does not except under a certain condition

"Difficulty Problem"
Never add new stuff until the existing stuff is fixed, some of the difficulty and even Descendant balance can be fixed by adjusting what is already in the game first

"Balancing"
First mistake, you vaguely discuss balancing all Descendants but skip details
Second mistake, you want Ines back without knowing what is wrong with her

With all the commotion and silliness going on despite not agreeing with what they did, I am fine with just leaving it as is honestly and I have used her before and after
I do not agree with how they did it, should have been done differently but there are other things that need attention plus after testing today, I found her 4th skill is wonky anyhow

The junk filter has options to assign your gold items as junk,set the criteria correctly so you dont delete important stuff then you clear all with two button presses

If the entirety of the game revolves around mobbing and bossing, then of course Descendants designed solely for mobbing or bossing will dominate their respective roles.
Other niches either dont exist or aren't currently meaningful, so of course any Descendant designed otherwise feel worse. Transcendent mods can and should be used to allow Descendants to bridge the gaps between the intended strengths and weaknesses of their design.

I also suggest that lowering long cooldowns and removing slow animations that lock your character in place can go a long way toward reducing the overall clunky feeling that many Descendants suffer from.

Ines 1, possibly her 2 do way more to hit stuff over a large area due to 2 words, one of the two things making her strong both before and after nerf that is why I disagree with how the nerfs were done
PS - I found a third reason after testing something in the Laboratory about her Ultimate (4th ability) and how wonky that is, that is the third thing should've been fixed

Giving people a speed buff is not an improvement for one simple reason
It assumes everyone wants to go fast and be a speedrunner
Except they do not
I have seen this same problem play out in many other games, people who play for different reasons in different ways assume everyone is just like them and when that fails, try methods to force their ways onto others
Force people to speedrun, a portion of players will leave because nothing will make them enjoy speedrunning
That is on top of the fact that speedrunners do not even know the history of speedrunning that also proves why they are wrong
It is a counter argument, you are just refusing to accept there are people who will never like speedrunning
You are not the first, seen it several times, I can tell many gaming stories that validate this

Except for 2 things
1 - I tried EVERY setting on that filter and it still does not work
2 - Sometimes you do not want to disassemble the stuff, sometimes you want to sell it off to Deslin for gold that I did and usually still do because gold was something I needed and those farms are not that good for reasons
When you hit the button to mark stuff manually as junk, everything except level 100 gold items gets marked so you have to manually mark all level 100 gold items to sell to Deslin in one shot for gold

There are 2 actual problems here that should get attention along with others but I am not going to list it to
- avoid side tracking the topic
- because I learned from a game dev never waste time on something if there is no desire for it and I have seen here no desire to fix so many problem in this game partly caused by certain segments of players who are partly responsible for chasing off some other players

This game should not revolve around mobbing, it was advertised as a looter shooter but fails there in some ways including the attempt to have people insta-wipe large groups with just one person
I have played some looter shooters, never seen one requiring huge numbers of enemies with characters needing large AoE insta-wipe abilities before and they work despite not having those features
No idea why this game is going that route, it is not a Asian thing, I have played other Asian games before and they do not require it either
The only way to make other characters insta-wipe large groups at this point requires only one thing since that is a feature 2 current Descendants have that makes them successful but then you create a problem among players and may as well just force solo play removing co-op
In addition now every character is the same so why have different characters? Just delete them all and force everyone to play the same Descendant that insta-wipes and deals with bosses

I know why Ines can clear stuff so well
1 - Two words in her Passive
2 - Her broken Special Resources bar
3 - Her wacky Ultimate 4th ability that was broken before and is still broken now, cooldown time does not matter

Weapon cores are insanely strong. So if they ignore them regarding balance, all content will be too easy. Cores give my Excava something like +480% electric damage on top of quadrupling the magazine. They cannot pretend that doesn't exist and have the hope of anything being challenging.

Cores are very unhealthy to the game. It does plenty of degenerate stuff like making Luna feel even worse with being locked to the unique weapon and all, and how Hailey is legitimately better now to completely ignore using her sniper and kit and only doing the gun build. You also have the obvious stuff with how grapple recovery time is essentially non-existent, your characters are much faster, and how since it's endgame stuff it makes a huge divide between new and old players.

Gley is disproportionately ultra buffed by cores because infinite ammo allows you to fully utilize fire rate cores. You can see how insane this can be with the dominance of the Last Dagger. I feel like cores were a giant L. It didn't make guns feel better, just made them do loads more damage or become stat sticks.

Being firmly in the last category you mention; those who adapt to the changes of the game, I have to say that it's pretty ridiculous that people are so upset about Ines one way or the other. It's one character guys. There are plenty of others, and I would say Serena is a much better character in almost every way (Ines is better at mobbing of course).

Any sort of "player attrition" can also be attributed to this being closer to the end of the season and everyone's done everything they wanted to do for the most part. You have the beginning of the season, big population pop, then it tapers off from there.

It has nothing to do with ego. It has to do with fundamental changes in design philosophy on which the game has been built upon. The entire premise of the game is Descendants play a role. Yes, you can do any content in the game with any Descendant. But that does not mean it will be easy, or that you will not have to compete for participation with other players. As an example: Why would a "healer" be able to match damage of a "dps"?

Think about it for a second. They did a nerf, that basically didn't effect her. On the basis of her being too powerful to make content for? That's their story anyways. The game is straying away from their core design philosophy and that is a HUGE problem. They keep nerfing content over and over again, so other players (in beloved Descendants) can participate at the same level as players in specialized roles.

The big problem is they are straying away from their content goals, promises, and fundamentals of the entire game. All in the name of a few loud voices who scream about diversity? Who cares if you only see certain Descendants in certain content? Why does it bother people? They only create a few different types of content.

It's diverse content we are lacking.

- It happened, if they cannot deal with it, nothing can be done for them

Also got all Arche Tuning (another broken system), not used Malevolent, paused Thunder Cage use due to not sure what module I want next and leveling up other guns, no weapon cored and I still can finish most missions quickly enough despite the nerfs

I stopped playing before the Ines nerf because one day I realized I'm working a job without getting a salary, and even a free catalyst is no longer enough to drag me to a 2-hour shift at the sweatshop. I am now simply watching how this story ends from the sidelines. Which technically makes me "outside" of the groups.

However, if I had to join one of the groups, I'd belong to the one that considers this move to be a rugpull. Whether your community invested time or money, whether you had a legal loophole that enabled you to do it or not - a rugpull represents a fundamental breach of trust between the developer and the consumer. And the fact they've commited to "no nerf" only to then do it anyway makes the rugpull even more immoral and dishonest.

When you run a business that has a small audience that shows no signs of growing, the trust becomes your most important asset. Losing it is gonna cost you, and it's gonna cost you bigly. Again - nobody cares if you're hiding behind some piece of A4 that says you can do it and now don't have to offer refunds. People who gave you money just won't give you money anymore. And people who committed hours and thus provided online for you will not provide it anymore.

Therefore, doing what they've done should have been the absolute very last resort - and no, I don't believe they were in a kind of situation that warranted that.

As for the "groups" themselves - dividing the playerbase and hiding behind your loyal superfans with the goal of making one part of the community fight another is an equally dishonest move, which I condemn. That said, the very presense of this discourse that's been going on for weeks if not months is indicative of a fundamental lack of vision for the game. Nexon got no idea what they're doing and so the players are trying to figure out what to do in their stead.

Literally made no effect on Ines clear times. They also buffed Bunny, the OG speed clearer.

I just want to know the legit reason why her floating lightning was made the way it was when every other skill has wall hacks, and why she needed such a big cooldown nerf. To the point it's mandatory to run all cool down everywhere, with any build on her.

Finally. Why are we nerfing content after content, then nerfing descendants?

Look at the achievement stats. People didn't leave because of OP descendants. OP BRINGS IN PEOPLE! The only real issue is how they're waiting to deliver nerfs until after people have paid & invested in her, which is what they're doing with Serena now. She'll get nerfed once they feel they've made most of the $$ they're going to, which is scummy and players are right to complain about it.

Imo you cannot compare Helldivers 2 with TFD. Helldivers 2 always had excellent gameplay with ups and downs. TFD never had good gameplay, because everything is repetitive, easy and practically the same.

The only reason it was a huge success during release is because it had hot girls while the gaming industry suffered from uglified women in videogames. Until today TFD lives from hot chicks and the grind.

Nerfing or buffing characters will not fix the core problem: the boring and repetitive gameplay. So we can all discuss whether the Ines nerf was really necessary or some characters got huge buffs. The power creep has already advanced too far that it cannot make the gameplay more attractive. You can just choose between more characters to nuke everything within seconds.

So more players will leave and never return, no matter how you balance your characters now.

As far as we the players know, we don't get any concrete confirmations that our feedback in being looked at or considered, they don't even really make wide acknowledgements of them. At the very most, the discord mods say that they will forward the feedback to the devs, but without any followup or updates on certain topics or issues that the feedback is about, we can only assume that the devs have received it, or they just might have an junk email where all this feedback is getting push and they cherry pick select things to address.

As much as the devs try to be open and transparent with the fans, there are a few things that they're doing very poorly, and a back and for between themselves and the fans on the topic of feedback (both good and bad) should really be a priority to maintain trust

You all knew this was coming for weeks now.

They said they were gonna rebalance things and nerf Ines, and now they gonna look at Serena *obvious nerf coming* and probably do changes to Freyna and Gley too.

While they are at it, will probably rebalance weapon cores, and nerf the hell out of that stupid sniper rifle.

People been crying for nerfs, been crying for balance changes, and they did all this on their discord and other social media, Korea especially.

And the cherry on top? Top Content Streamers, including the number 1 content streamer, stopped supporting Nexon and TFD, because of how stupidly whacked out the balance is. That their is no challenge, at all, whatsoever, that many mechanics can be skipped, entirely, due to one or two specific builds. That it looked like Nexon wasnt trying hard enough to balance crap out before release.

Well, looks like Nexon is gonna try harder now. Specially since they are fully aware they been losing their Content Streamers due to the state the game is in.

Cuz way the game was going? It was going to die before Season 4, at least now, it may survive to season 4 since players who wanted to play the other characters that couldnt contribute due to Ines and Freyna and Bunny, now suddenly can, and will come back once they hear about the rebalances.

Nerf is good, esp Ines was really too OP with 1st skill aoe aimless spam. That’s not gameplay should be. Now she is almost the same, but you need to actually aim to attack, damage is slightly less, and 2nd skill is now OP without range. So… just skill issue, sadly.

The Endsieg is ours.
Steam's recent review score is based on the past 30 days. Right now, the current percentage is still being propped up by reviews from before the review-bombing began, not the ones pushing back against it. Damage control efforts might manage to keep the score from dropping further for now, but they won’t be able to hold the line once those older reviews start to drop off in a couple of weeks.

This business of releasing a new descendant that is absurdly strong, then releasing another one that is even more absurd, then releasing another one that is beyond absurd is sickening. Ines has be proven to be undeniably the strongest mobber in the game, the worst part for me to make a not recommend review is rebalancing Freyna with content and then launching Ines to do 3x better mob clearing, burying Freyna even more.

Now that the nerf plaque has started, more character will share the same fate in a future leaving the newly added one OP before they too get nerf to the ground once they drop another new descendant. The cycle will continue.

They now lies about no nerf policies. What next? Added pvp even so they state that this game is PVE only? Block new content behind paywall? The game already lost so many player, now it lost even more. I enjoy this game and want it to thrive but at this rate, i doubt that the game will ever see season 3.

The 2M per jump, is just on level 1 vulgus, up to about 3M depending on reactor and mods used.

On the Vulgus we been fighting which is between level 110-160, its more like 700k to 1M. Again depends on modules used.

You can sacrifice durability for more damage, via removing a HP mod, or using Set pieces that can bolster skills, but I dont recommend it. For one thing yea, those set pieces have hard specific stats so your forced to take max shield on one of em, and as an Ajax, you want to be there at the front, having all eyes on you initially while the others come up behind you free to do their thing. So trading 80-120 percent or more of your tankiness to get a 15-25 percent damage increase isnt advised.

The changes are really good though, I had to change a few mods on my Jumping Jax build to make it more efficient, much higher damage than it was before. Had to run some Range Cap tests as well, and got em to where I want em to be. Would I use the build on Colossi or VEP? No not really unless they remove the skill reduction for VEP, if they remove that then yea, I would, cuz it means I can help immediately clear all the small fry just leaving the elites to then immediately turn and fire on.

TL;DR: I don't feel much of a difference in her play style post-nerf. Especially not enough of a difference to complain about it. I still enjoy using her and I'm not going to complain about an extra 10s on my clear times.

I'll say what I've said in other threads. The only thing about the nerf that actually makes her feel bad to play for me, is when her 1 returns no target with an enemy in your face. Elevation seems to be a factor for this, if they fix that I won't have any issues with her playstyle post-nerf. Besides that, the increase in cooldowns is noticeable, but with some adaptations it doesn't really make her feel worse to play. I just press 2 buttons to clear mobs now instead of 1 for the majority of a dungeon.

I haven't ran into a situation where her 1 was out of stacks post-nerf. If I save her 4 for areas that actually need it, like in 400% only using it in the rooms with lots of spawns and elites, instead of every room, it doesn't change much besides finishing the dungeon 10-20s slower than before. I always used her 2 even before the nerf, so having to use it now doesn't change much for me.

Her 2 actually does a lot of heavy lifting if you use it right. Allows you to clear most rooms with 1 cast of her 1 followed by a single 2 cast. Sure, prior to the nerf you would've just tossed out a 4 instead and kept moving. So, yeah it's different, but it's not awful like people are making it out to be. At least for me.

The fact that Ine’s Q no longer goes through walls is the dealbreaker for me — more than the damage or cooldown nerfs. I gave her a try after the patch and decided to drop her temporarily. 1. Not really my main reason but this fueled my rage a bit, I don't play males, I dont plan on ever playing a male Descendant, I havent even unlocked any of them. I'm upset that fire cowboy guy is the ultimate and not someone I actually play like Luna or Hailey.

Now on to the real reason, I was having FUN, logging in for an hour or 2 everyday and playing my perfect Ines build. I spent money on outfits for her, I bought her so I could spend more time playing with her instead of grinding days to unlock her. I spent money on premium paints, they give us paints but only shitty generic ones, they keep the good ones behind a paywall.
I would play in private mode and could solo any content besides the bosses that need a party. I was having FUN.
They took that away from me, why? it's a PVE game.
Sure I could play Bunny instead, oh wait they nerfed her too.
I guess I could play Freyna oh no, they nerfed her too.
I could play Valby- nope! nerfed too.
Viessa? Nerfed.
Serena? next on the list to be nerfed.
Gley? No! She's used goods and is a single mom, HUGE red flag.

in all seriousness it was not even a small balance nerf, she was gutted.
tripled her cool downs and went from doing 300k+ to around 80k?

she was also given the worst swimsuit of all females.
I think that someone from the devs studio hates her because they had to reverse her base outfit changes because the community was upset that her base outfit was changed to be uglier. They gutted her like a fish in front of us just to get back at us for complaining about her base outfit.

Other descendants have arche powers that can travel through walls, and one cannot precisely aim with Ines' #1 skill so it is a really big handicap to be shut down when hitting an object.

I totally lost faith in Nexon for handling Ines' nerf this poorly, going back on their word to not nerf descendants, and post-poning the Serena nerf and highly probable Freyna nerf.

Futhermore, the developers really threw balance out the window with gun cores, they don't consider descendants who can one-shot Abyss Bosses overpowered, and Nexon isn't capable of making challenging endgame content which is basic Game Development 101.

You thought the Ines review bomb backlash was bad, just wait until they clip Serena's wings with a reckless nerf.

we all know her DPS isnt "OP" she is in line with alot of other DPS char, and people only use 1 and 4 of her ability cause the 2 and 3 are trash/not worth it.
what i was hoping for that the dev would rework her to be actually versatile char and not just a vacuum cleaner like freyna.
i already mention the detail on my own ines rework post so ill simplify here.
1. remove her infinite spread
2. make her active skill more intuitive

The "weight" of her nerf is this: she was nerfed. she is still top tier (while being bugged btw). the best mobber in the game and doesn't struggle in any content(while being bugged btw).

This issue is that pre-nerf Ines any Ines was able to clear VEP30, hell even past VEP28 because I did it with her before I went to Gley for faster clear times.

Post-nerf, no random Ines can do it, turns out you actually need to know what you're doing. They don't play the game at all, they hide their playtime and only come onto the forum to engage in chat PvP waving around small D energy.

*Keep in mind pre-nerf Ines, NO OTHER skill descendant was able to clear VEP27, let alone VEP28. Most had to switch off after VEP25 or go strictly gun-builds whereas Ines didn't. Skills obliterating a gun based mode that was designed to played with guns to award guns should never be nerfed in favour for skill descendant users crying. Literally change your descendant.

My Ines has never used Hunting Hounds and is probably not a meta build

First ability can still be spammed
Second ability still hits enemies
Third is only for bosses, can miss and thus barely used
Ultimate is just used less often and does wonky damage anyway

I can run around anywhere, not shoot a gun and still wipe rooms
I can also shoot a gun, can focus on guns that kill more than one enemy like Thundercage keeping the mob fighter feel
Abilities hit more targets than expected due to 2 words in her Passive and wonky 4th skill damage

I can't tell if these 'people' are being serious or not... anyone who's actually played VEP would know Ines' skill kit is worthless in lvl 30. But they bring it up as if it means anything.

as per my understanding VEP has been heavily bad for ability focused descendants as per my research - i haven't been in there yet myself i'm making sure i have decent weapon builds etc beforehand and am actively researching how to make my builds better while not blindly following streamers like a lot of players do in a lot of games - i personally find my enjoyment from making my own.

with this in mind all i have is raw data ie leader-boards etc

which is why i was trying to open a dialogue with you in good faith but if you're going to turn this into something it is not then why carry this on?

And yeah, this is the first time in 12 years of playing on Steam that I felt like I got completely shafted.

I bought Ines. I grinded 5 double gold reactors for Ines, all with skill crit dmg, one with tech skill power, one with colossi skill power, and the rest with faction skill powers. I completely built secret garden and farmed cores for 20 and 30 VEP specifically for Ines' mobility while mobbing... I invested more than a month of gameplay to the character. I was at the point where I could clear 400% invasion content in a minute and change consistently.

Ines was my favorite character to play, and I rewarded The First Descendant and NEXON with my money in exchange for providing that gameplay experience. The nerf was a direct degradation of the effort and time I put in as well as the value of the product I purchased. Of course I'm gonna try and be vocal about my displeasure in public forums as I actively seek refunds from the company.

The nerf made the majority of players very angry. The way the developers handled it was wrong too.

If it had only been a damage reduction and nothing else, the backlash probably would not have been this big. But in general, no one likes seeing their favorite Descendant get nerfed. Sure, Ines is still strong, but players preferred her old playstyle.

Some people are saying to just get over it and accept the change. But if Bunny had been nerfed in the same way as Ines, those same people would be outraged. Next, it will be Serena or Freyna, and we will see how those players react then.

It definitely was not worthwhile to nerf Ines. It did not achieve anything good or lead to any positive change. Things have only gotten worse.

The game is now receiving mostly negative reviews. A lot of players are no longer spending money on it, even if they are still playing. The good momentum and support that the game had is mostly gone.

On top of that, PS4 and Xbox One players are about to be cut off in two months, which means even less support to the game.

Even Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a higher player count than this game at any given time.
