Andy goes on for a while but is ultimately a dead end.

Andrew goes on for longer but also gets you to a final pretty bad end in episode 3. It is however a more complete and satisfying ending than the Andy path(no harm in seeing both though)

However these are actually both branching paths within the "wrong" route. The path to episode 4 is based on a choice you made "wrong" at the end of episode 2. I also need to go back and do that different to get the other route, will do it soon.

It isn't "wrong" in what it symbolizes.
Letting him kill her in the vision (not even real) is probably the first time she has ever let him do things his way. The first compromise she's ever made, and one that isn't even real. It's in fake vision town.
It makes sense that such a decision would lead to the canon route.

It is astonishing how this would have prevented basically all of their problems if he would have just gone through with it back then. ashley was finally willing to break away from her childishness and embrace romance and sex as an act of love rather than as leyley would perceive it; a gross transactional act to keep andy around

If he's saying that line was already said that to him, doesn't that mean the Grandparents house is after Nina and not before?
I thought the Grandparents place happened first and that's why he went along with the Nina incident so callously. But in their bedroom she says that "he doesn't like anyone" before making the blood oath right? Which means that the Grandparents came after the Nina incident. Looks even worse for him.

So overall, I'm very glad Nemlei decided to release the first half instead of waiting. It's given the fanbase a life saving infusion and plenty to discuss until Decay 2, and Shots and Such is a kino "false ending" that gives a sense of finality until then. Not intentionally trying to feed into the Julia theory but I just realized that the rumor being about school on a sunday reminded me about Sunday School. A religious thing. Every single time she listens to ??? she makes things worse for them, it's a spiraling addiction that will only lead her to being consumed by it, as we see in a vision, where she becomes a demon with a hole in her heart that will now never be healed.

God, this game makes me realize how fucking lonely I am. Andrew, Ashley, Renee, Douglas, even fucking Friend B have all been able to hold and be held by someone near and dear to them. One thing I found interesting in the scene at the surgeon, Renee actually was trying to think of some way, something to fight the surgeon to potentially save her kids but it isn't until Douglas who tells her to give it up because it's not worth it, and only THEN does she accept and comes around to blame them for their predicament.
I feel like even Renee could've been a decent mom had Douglas been there to want her to make do better and not just coddle her.

To add to this Ashley still doesn't really see Andrew in that conversation. She thinks him stealing the talisman is an unqualified betrayal despite knowing how scared he is about their situation, and she tells it he's her older brother and only exists to keep her safe and happy. I think that's the part that largely dissapoints Andrew in Friend B, he accepts Andrew's facade, but given how he reacts to Ashley, Andrew knows he wouldn't accept Andrew for who he is, and he's probably also not amused by his remarks towards Ashley.

I think that's what makes Andrew not really see him as a real friend, thus he doesnt register as a name to him.

In Questionable, Andrew and Ashley are more open with each other. Ashley indirectly forces Andrew to have a discussion about his feelings about her. Andrew is already experiencing some growth as he stopped having so many nightmares. Plus it even hints at Ashley's trust issues since she thinks about using sex so he'll stay with her when she realizes using the trinket for that is starting to not work

In Sane, Andrew continues having nightmares and Ashley says that Andrew is back to normal as always. Andrew isn't forced to confront his feelings and Ashley isn't looking for alternative ways to keep Andrew around since Andrew never used the trinket with her.

Being less unhinged and more "sane" even when it goes against what would make you happy is what Andrew thinks should happen and he's getting mind fucked for it. If anything, Sane would be the bad route since all the development Andrew and Ashley could have potentially went through is undone and it's back to the status quo

The game started off with me hating Ashley and assuming she was by far the worse one but this has made me go from thinking they're equally bad to him being the worse one. She's alot more up front and truthful than he is, and there are far fewer instances of her ever hurting him than vice versa. No matter how much thought I give it there's just so many red flags that the story is turning in one of these dark romance books you see in Amazon with a cover of half naked sweaty muscular man grabbing a woman by the neck and beating her. I think if she wasn't getting her period than she probably lacked the nutrients for her body to trigger baby making mode in the first place, being focused more on her own survival instead of producing eggs and preparing for reproduction.

I was baiting, but the more I think about it the less ironic it gets. Decay shows them both passing the moral event horizon and devolving into the worst possible versions of themselves. They kill the campers together, and Ashley helps ??? steal more people's souls no matter which route you take. The S&S version of Andrew shows he's no better or worse than her at this point in the story IMO, even in DA where he doesn't have a chance to act on it as much. I don't think Ashley turning out evil surprised anyone but Dindrew got his turn too.

Maybe this is supposed to be rock bottom before they start on some kind of redemption arc, like the guy who says they'll kill ??? and give all those people their souls back. If that's true cool, but as they are now I can't make myself feel very bad for either of them ending up in Shots and Such. If they're still remorseless murderhobos I don't think I'll be very happy to see things work out for them either.

Both of these characters want to be the version of themselves that the other would fall in love with. Andrew needs to be a more confident, communicative, and ambitious person. Ashley needs to be a more stable, friendly, and rational person. Both love each other already but as we saw in Shots and Such, neither of them are ready for what they both want right now.
Obviously growing up doesn't happen overnight but I get the sense that in the happiest ending it'll be really satisfying to see these two realize more of their potential in such a mutually supportive relationship.

Remaining plot predictions:
Decay Cliffhanger: splits off into 2 where Andrew and Ashley reject demons, or fight over it resulting in their deaths
Burial 'insane': Bonnie and Clyde esque revenge tour that features them fully embracing each other sexually with zero forethought or qualms. It's mutually beneficial because Andrew can live out his feelings, and Ashley gets his company. Ultimately ends in their deaths, demons in this section will be downplayed.
>Burial 'sane': Ashley and Andrew ultimately decide to leave everything in the past. Ashley mentally grows up and goes on to, "kill Leyley". Will probably include some dream sequences like in Decay Cliffhanger. Maybe has some drama with demons, maybe even has Ashley abandoning ??? and destroying trinket to show Andrew that she doesn't want to blackmail him into staying against his will if he doesn't want to. Ends with her deciding to let Andrew go because she truly loves him. Andrew ultimately chooses her anyway though, and then player can decide to get romantically involved or not. Ends as a mirrored version of S&S, except they love each other, don't abuse each other, sex is fun for both parties, and she gets pregnant and decides to keep it.
