They pushed the parallel with them and Vkun and Aogami even harder, even making Nuwa say it in the demon haunt, but they still didn't do enough somehow. Yakumo isn't a guest, you can't bring Nuwa to him like with Miyazu and Khonsu etc. Plenty of opportunity exists to have them sit down and talk but it's not there. They could still add it but I doubt they will.

Funny that the cast of characters literally working for an official le epic demon slaying after school club run by the prime minister look less prepared/ready to fight than the casts of games scrounging around the apocalypse with no extra support
Would legit probably give the game an entire extra point in score if I liked the main cast outfit aesthetic instead of it all just being school uniforms (yakumo being the exception of course)

Only reason they get the title is because it would be stupid to call Yoko a chaos hero instead of chaos heroine. Also what even is a heroine outfit? Short skirt and thigh highs? This whole "alignment rep ≠ heroine" rule seems like something you arbitrarily pulled out to try and justify this irrational stance of not calling tao or yoko heroines. Having to curl yourself into a pretzel and say isabeau also isn't a heroine to justify the former just kinda settles what a ridiculous take this is.
Nine also has alignment rep heroines by the way.

If we're going to use this as a requirement, the alignment reps should fight in your party in every game too. But that was also something they changed. Also keep in mind how much that broadens the scope of these rules. If the companion mechanic counts then anything fighting alongside you counts even if it's not in your party. The rules can be bent in any way they want to bend them really. So heroines that act more like alignment reps is fine, but complaining they aren't heroine enough is the issue you will run into. Likewise this new navigator role they came up with since IV (SJ if you want to stretch it) has become a far more prevalent companion and not just a tutorial bot. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next game the "navigator" is just outright unquestionably the heroine role now.

I think you focused on the word heroine in my initial post and blanked out literally everything else I said afterwards. My issue was not that they "weren't heroine enough" my issue was that I don't like the school uniform aesthetic of the main cast in V. I think the characters should ditch their uniforms and get into some battle gear. I both like that aesthetic more just on a personal taste level, and I think it would fit the story and setting presented by the game more if the people working for the prime minister to officially fight demons as employees of "demon slayers LTD" looked a little more outfitted. That's it.

We wouldn't have gotten into this back and forth and I would have just agreed with you.

Also if we had actual comps instead of phones it would solve this whole issue. Like take the MCs for If... for example, they are just in their uniforms but while wearing comps they look much more battle ready.

I don't know much about the English dub of V or VV but what I heard was pretty bad, and yet Metaphor's was really good. When in doubt you could always just play it with the Japanese voices, which is what I plan on doing for the Raidou remake.

It's a valid argument. Aogami mentions multiple times how the Nahobino is mainly his body and you're just taking it for a joyride. So it would have been cooler if it actually looked like that. I remember Doi mentioning that he gave the Nahobino the MC's face to give him agency or to make the player feel they're still in control. It makes me believe there were probably drafts of the Nahobino where it looked pretty much exactly like Aogami instead and Yamai must have told him to change it.

Also I remember we were bitching how Aogami isn't playable in the heroine argument in the last thread but doesn't this make it so he was in battle the whole time? You're basically just giving him commands like any other demon.

nta but i wish they would've done something cooler with the chaos ending. yes it's exciting that mastema shows up and he spergs out again and you get to kick his teeth in again but he doesn't even get a grandiose new form or interesting battle gimmick the way tehom does. i don't even think he earns being the final boss of cov chaos which sucks because fatlus definitely knew that mastema would be a selling point for the game that i fell hook, line, and sinker for. it's also mental that you must kill tiamat in chaos when the obvious move should be to make her your ally to pulp mastema and the throne with her help. then the narrative just kind of says nothing of significance at the end other than "this is the world desired by all those who have ever known suffering" ok and? why is all we have to show for it just yoko and vkun fucking off into the sea. and i am not inviting anyone to try to fill me in with headcanons or speculation about what the snake means or what the tree means or what the completely platonic handholding means. what i saw is what i got and what i got was an undercooked post-credits cutscene with nothing of value to add to the whole anti-oppression themes yoko brings to the table. at least in cov law, the fellow undercooked ending that it is, they straight up tell you it's a good ending for everyone involved and it is more believable because we are shown all the characters we've come to know living happily ever after. oh yeah i completely forgot that lucifer is actually the final boss in both routes again for some reason because he is that big of an afterthought in this game. i think all of my complaints can be attributed to a lack of time and budget but whatever. good night /smtg/.

Its insane to me that they scrapped them twice. The demon mod added them as playable units, and for yokos robo form you can even see that atlus gave her a unique animation for primordial chaos where the robotic panel wings on her back that she only has in that form detach and fan out and then reassmeble after the move is done, so they definitely planned to make her usable at some point.
Why did they plan on making robos usable in both vanilla and then AGAIN for vengance and back out both times?

Just beat Megami Tensei II, the Famicom version. It was a pretty good time, other than a small bit of the later stuff. I thought the Underworld kind of dragged on but it was really cool and I think I actually prefer the YHVH fight to the one in SMT2, at least for the atmosphere and music since the fight itself was basically automatic. I haven't tried Kyuuyaku, but I do believe a lot of the charm of MT2 is in it being a game for the fucking Famicom. I often forget that games could feel good on the thing. It's strange, because I remember not enjoying SMT2 all that much but I did enjoy this one a fair bit, even though it has many of the same faults. Maybe I was just burnt out or something.

As much as the game tries to tell you that the objective is for the MC to replace her role they could have handled it better. Yoko could have asked him to kill Tiamat in like an evil le twist instead of Mastema appearing and forcing him to kill her. Instead you have to haul Yoko to the demon haunt and gift box her to max to hear the entire plan. It shouldn't require all this effort. Likewise, not knowing the real plan makes Lilith's dream sequences pointless. Why was she convincing him to join them? They were going to sacrifice him no matter what and the dreams didn't make it easier for them. Unless of course, they knew they only needed Aogami and that Aogami would rescue the young man from Tiamat. And once Aogami was gone their hope is that you would choose their plan to replace Tiamat and do what she did even better. It would be so much better if all of this was explained in the ending was once.

The fact that it's in plain English despite these artists rarely speaking anything but Korean or Japanese tells me that they're specifically trying to tell foreigners that repost art without credit or permission to fuck off. Personally I'm glad they put watermarks on their art so I can find who drew it and enjoy their other stuff, but I think their concern is more about posting art on social media than on imageboards. As for why they'd be upset, I can understand considering it usually turns into something like:

>artist posts something they put blood sweat and tears into
>get some likes and reposts but attention is pretty moderate because its not tagged (idk why they do this)
>some dickhead from another country reposts the art on their social media account that's full of other shit they didn't make and they tag it
>it gets loads more attention and nobody knows who the original artist was nor do they care, in some cases they're outright making money off it
>so ashamed artist-san deletes their account and wipes their presence off the face of the internet so that nobody gets to enjoy their stuff anymore

It can get pretty frustrating. Happens a little less these days now that there's a push to always properly credit art in some fandom circles, but the internet is such a jungle that it's really hard to control the stuff you put out there as a creator. I feel bad but at the same time I think it can sometimes be a little excessive how they react to people sharing their stuff. Shin Megami Tensei.

However Telenet Japan went under and its stuff was bought by another company, making it very difficult to actually get the rights to Megami Tensei 2 because a third party holds it. A few threads ago someone mentioned how they got into SMT after Kaneko, so they never really had any attachment to him. But the vast majority of demon art and even a few SMT concepts, both that have defined the series, are still present in every game so I think even newfags learn to respect him

If you think there is any message there about AI, it's dashed completely because Kaneko thinks a stable diffusion model can only use his work but you can google stable diffusion and see that isn't true. Any model using stable diffusion uses the billion or so images it already learned as basis for generating anything you feed into it. His own project shows he's ignorant about AI itself.

Psychic powers in older sci-fi are always represented as some untapped human potential or the next step of human evolution, so I think it fits during a late century demon apocalypse scenario.
As for other games, I don't fucking know. Maybe they got the demon whisper and you missed out on it. But megaten tradition of heroines are usually explainable. Yumiko is the tenseied megami, Namisa is a demon, and Rei is gifted magic by a demon at the start of the game

It's due to powerfagging and wanting certain information to remain relevant despite being outdated.
Just think about it. Imagine working on a article several years ago that you considered to be your finest work. It's been left alone for years, gathering dust but still used as important information for newcomers that wants to learn more about something. Then on a random day some random no-name person comes by and changes most of that page because "It was filled with old incorrect information". You'll be fucking pissed since you spent all of that time for ultimately nothing.

Actually if it was logical for him to do that. If the whole point of the Aogami program was to make a new fighting force for the Amatasu to replace their lost forces in the war, Susano-o was probably their best fighter. Amaterasu was the strongest of course but they could never remake her. Susano-o reached his peak after killing orochi and fucking a human. He was the "hero of the Kunitsukami" as they even say in game right at that point. And when you do the virtual battle against the Kunitsu you're told that the data they used was very old meaning they probably pulled it from Aogami's buried Susano-o memories. So how do you go about making the best version of Susano-o? Make the Type-0, give it human like qualities so it attracts a human partner to protect, then that unit will go on to be the best version comparable to successor.

The fact the NTR joke writes itself when it comes to Koshimizu fusing with the MC still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Because Aogami has to thank him for it. It would have been better to say it was a tough but necessary decision. Anything but thank you because that feels like pure cuck shit.
