But no, Capcom really needed Bison, Terry, Mai AND Elena in their SECOND Pass instead of actual SF mainstays like Sagat, Vega, Sakura, any fucking Final Fight characters in Metro fucking City. Seriously, Season 3 has no potential to look good because now it's either going to be full of characters who should've been in already or brand new shit nobody wanted in SF to begin with. Starting to wish they reused SFV assets instead of this arbitrary "building shit from scratch" shit so the damn game wouldn't make a snail's pace look like mach 5

SFV alt costumes were outsourced that's why they look like shit in-game. If you want the costume to not be a clipping nightmare it takes a lot more effort while SFV sold reskins because it was desperate to keep people on-board after the tremendous failure of a launch

Which honestly I still think is whack as fuck because Street Fighter 6 poised itself to be a new generation of Street Fighter and reinvented its old characters only for it to just go back to the exact same shit SF has always been after a year. It feels like nothing progressed and now we get the DLC season equivalent of a filler arc because there's fucking nothing for these characters to say or do now. So Capcom is subjecting its playerbase to this arduous waiting room of waiting for your main to get in when they got in all the popular characters immediately in SFIV's console launch. Crazy how SF will never have a roster that good ever again

And yeah Tag 2 more or less but that's a literal Dream Match made up of the biggest highlights from T1-6 so it's no different than say KOF02UM. I guess it would be nice if fighting games gave up pretenses of trying to have lore and just focused on being rosters but then people would bitch the devs are lazy (like they don't now)

SFV had a better roster just for having every single boss, Karin and not having Rufus and Fuerte. MK9 is also not the best roster, both MK Trilogy and obviously Armageddon have better ones.

I wouldn't even know if having S1 in XV on launch would even have saved the game because then you'd just be waiting half a year for Shingo and Kim anyway. I figure they'd have to delay KOFXV for like half a year since S1 passes are just chopping off content to get the game out sooner and the game was already delayed 6 months just for rollback. There doesn't sound like an outcome where XV wasn't going to be a disaster since it should've been the game we got over XIV to begin with

The new season(3) of Capcom pro tour is starting early May.
Elena, the last season 2 Character isn't coming until June.
Last year, akuma came out in May, with the new season patch, before CPT started (in June)
So that's the dilemma.
They either release the season 3 patch before the last season 2 character, or start the new season on the old patch(more likely)

SNK's never really pushed characters as hard as Capcom pushes Luke. If anything a big issue with them is they keep pushing legacy characters. The last actual character push they did was Ash and they gave up with him by KOFXIII. Shun sure fucking wasn't pushed in KOFXV. Just was made aware of this thread today, lot to unpack here.

Also didn't know who this guy was, just that he was a soccer star. Heard over the past week he was banned from Vegas due to assault, not knowing intricate details. There was never an initiative to ban people for talking about this specifically, but if you did use the term 'rape' or 'rapist', I can almost guarantee you got auto-modded due to extremely strict auto mod guidelines. A real life mod made me aware of this issue and this thread after last night's stream.

This game is something we've been excited for, for quite a while. However, I had several sponsors FF related over the next month planned. These will be cancelled. I've also avoided absolutely life changing amounts of money from similar sides of the Esports world over the years, because I'd prefer to not be directly involved.

This sucks. It hurts that something like this is so closely associated with an initiative I've been trying to propagate for years, which is SNK games finding success and thriving in the modern age. Pretty saddened now, and I get why people would be pissed about what my intentions were...but really, I'm not nearly as dialed into the internet bubble and Era, with time just to browse and gather information beyond what is going on in the things I'm personally invested. And now I know.

Funny enough, I've been getting 10x the amount of vitriol in chat/social media, about being extremely critical of Ronaldo in Fatal Fury already. Because we all have eyes and his inclusion looks terrible, without even knowing how deep the backstory was. Thus, there is no winning anything here for me. It's going to be bad no matter what.

Even the golden child of the franchise XIII is vapid at best, with a mediocre story mode that tells no story and has no replay value. The entire S2 was a trainwreck, Terry is probably the only worthwhile DLC and even then they should've waited for something like Season 3 to introduce him when people still want OGs in the game. Execution of high-risk + high reward moves in clutch situations are hype and feel good to do. If you don't understand this, you don't get what makes fgs good. Period. The NuFGC scrubs complain about 2xQCF supers as it is. They want those gone as well. Hidden Gears being different is how SNK originally intended, but they caved to Max complaining about it.
