>>521197815it's not sustainable because it's got 15 years worth of work and each new update thesedays breaks the game to enough people to witness or experience the same things, "connecting..." chat, no post game lobby, game not loading, game jittering/lagging despite good hardware/stable net, etc. Back a few years ago the only technical issue they had was not being able to transfer you account across regions months at a game but atleast it didn't genuinely lose people's lp over riots poor service so you're basically aware of the poor maintenance and optimization bit.
riots new decisions have also been very anti consumer with the ftp rewards being stripped, still never banning soft inters because they didn't type, leaning towards eSports more in terms of balance and such whilst also practically removing rewards for participating and watching it, etc.
they've not really been so great with their employees either due to adopting ai art, mass firing employees, moving long term employees for other projects, being understaffed hence recycled vfx/animations, etc.
league itself has kinda proven that they can abandon it overtime because their players are willing to put up with anything and still spend money on it, this can also explain why noone talks about the bots being in games because there are no actually new players to actually flag it and make it a concern, also riot probably figured returning players are more likely to pay for the game and make their 10th account and pay for the same skins all the time so the lack of support for the new player experience can be explained with that along with their initial lack of care for be farming for champions. also this game is objectively unbalanceable so they don't care about that overused narrative anymore
there are probably other factors but i can't recall them at the moment
