So 70% bulwark reduction + 60% armor reduction + crimson guard 60% chance for 70 dam reduction + radiance

Then eternal shroud to buff up magic resist

You're still at a point where doing shit like full tank Mars can work but once you play anyone with braincells you're either getting Broken and Hexed to death or you're getting ignored while your team dies and then their 5 man push is going to outpace your solo push, because YOU are tanky but that doesn't mean your team is and once the enemy figures that out, the game is over.
There have been patches where even someone with high damage and tank like Timbersaw still got ignored because that didn't translate well for the rest of the Timbersaw's team.

And do what? Mars can clear a wave but he isn't any good at killing towers. Even if you really were totally completely unkillable the enemy team can just fight the rest of your team 4v5 while you fuck around on the other side of the map and then kill your base about a hundred times faster than you can kill theirs. The best you can do is force a rotation and there are so many other heroes that can do that and don't need to spend 30k gold on tank items to do it. Hell even Mars himself can do it with a normal build, you don't need to build ultra tanky.

But also you aren't actually unkillable anyways because break exists so they point is moot.

That's not even close to true. Basically any strength hero with decent armour or some damage mitigation skill (i.e. tide, bristle, timber) can do this with a normal build, you don't even need heart which is a pretty bad item these days.

Damage and armour on nullifier are the least important things about the item. Nobody buys this dogshit cause it gives 75 damage. Everyone buys it to counter ghost scepters and removing buffs. The item doesn't need damage or armour, it needs utility like move speed + 1 extra mod for that fucking exuberant price so people can replace their boots if they have to carry this item. It is wholesome when you get heart of tarasque and the whole team just rallies around you and falls in behind your shield as a mars main, losing by over 10 kills but get the dub, also a 4v5 win

Also I'm new to the game but it seems most players are insanely spastic and just chase everything, when I try to help them I almost always die, retreating and defending the tower isn't a viable option in quickplay randoms brain

Most of my games play like this and I'll win with like 2 or 3 kills because when I get tarasque and radiance we can finally make progress

Took me a while to figure out how to build Mars but shield bash to max as fast as possible, mana regen ring, then save until tarasque, then mage slayer then radiance seems solid, why do you need boots, only late game when you're ready to push

So is most heroes considered noob friendly, only 2 that I think are noob friendly and tanky off the top of my head is Undying and Centaur, but their laning phase can be a pain if you dont know how to lane.
Zeus's plan at all stages of the game are pretty simple for a new person. He doesn't flood a beginners brain with infinite possibilities of what to do like some heroes, just press your buttons on who is closest to you and maybe press E if someone jumps on you.

Bad Zeuses are so bad and useless it's not even funny. And then when they drop off because they're behind in levels and farm, and the enemy team is fat and with BKBs, that's not a good time.

I would qualify noob friendly heroes as heroes who don't require thinking for laning, and then can transition to roaming and right-clicking without thinking. So win-lane-lose-game heroes like Viper and Huskar. Huskar might require pressing too many buttons but Viper definitely. I would know. I played like 90 games of Viper in a row when I first started and thought I was so good at it.

Then maybe other braindead heroes like Juggernaut, Lina, PA, Naix. I'm of the opinion that getting new players started on simple right-clickers is the best way to get them started. So an old fart who doesn't want to think would do well on them too.

She was good when her flash farming, laning (esp mid) and damage was something special so she came out of lane strong (with a weakened enemy) then popped in the triangle and walked out with a really strong timing.
They're not anymore. Everyone and their mother can farm stacks and have a far less one-trick-pony kit than her so people just play better rounded heroes that don't fall off a cliff at the slightest hiccup.
Her roshing is also weaker with his buffs.

They reverted it. She's always had 6 refractions. That was the nerf that ruined the hero in the first place. Besides she's not even properly buffed. Her refraction damage is still shit, doesn't work on denies and meld doesn't dispel.

Honestly I don't mind, I don't want to have the same sort of mains, variety is good if I limit myself to 5 heroes.
I generally just avoid bottle heroes though (especially must-have ones like QOP) and cancer shit like Viper/Sniper.

Stick with team when ults are up and look for fights
Kill creeps between fights if no objectives are viable
Get xp on mid lane as support around 10 minutes for level 6 if you don't have it already, if the mid doesn't leave lane at this point he's griefing

Aside from the tips anon above already listed, you can also make huge stacks and then help cores clear them. Don't kill the stack creeps, just damage them, you'll still get xp.

Invisible supports can also watch enemy cores farm while calling in a gank, this also gives xp even though it's the enemy that kills the creeps.

Its much much better to combo Whip with some other stun because of its huge amounts of damage, it wins you fights early on. also you can actually kill people when you hit level 6. which is why Ringmaster is a much better pos 4 than pos 5, his lane presence is not enough to make a difference by himself against a half decent offlane combo.

Dagger only comes into play against STR cores, which is also a good idea to pair with an Upgraded urn to stack % Damage on heroes with huge HP pools.

Im objectively right and there is no way you can prove me wrong :)

I remember rewatching a game where I won my lane against axe/wyvern and the axe kept writing 'FUCK YOU WYVERN' on the map, either because he was muted or because his behaviour score was too low to chat. It was a solid 30 mins of this. I remember the wyvern signed off with 'fun game, nice team' as their fountain died and thinking nothing of it, until I'd watched the replay and was kinda sad. He didn't even play that badly, just missed one heal in lane which probably wouldn't have saved axe anyway. Hope he didn't quit dota for good lol

Basically, you hit the ethereal blade button, then the dagon button but make sure it's level 5 for the big bucks, then explode button to boom on them and top it off with a dab of tazors and you just did a 800+ damage nuke with a silence and a disarm and you can just smack the remaining hp off it's the perfect plan

Yes which doesn't make sense because there is no LAN for dota it's entirely online so why have an in person studio event when there's no audience? In CS you have LAN matches so it's different from being online

Dota's esports scene used to be centered on huge Valve events and TI, but they have since then turned into a target of Valve's sabotage. What you see now are the decisions of third party organizations.

It does? They already have the studio with the casters and analysts for fully online events the only difference is that you interview the player/coach in person rather than on video and it's not like the players/coaches are known for their in-depth and intriguing interviews, I would say the real reason is because hiring a venue and staffing it costs more than you would make from ticket sales but at the same time not having the players in a studio and instead playing at their home/org house is cheaper still so it's perplexing that this model has arisen since it doesn't offer anything for dota

Then look up the 500k majors of circa 2021-2023. Many of them had unspeakably bad production, but were still considered Valve events. Then Valve abandoned both the majors and TI, with the former disappearing and the latter turning into a mere simulacrum of the events of the past (since 2022).

And renting or owning a studio (I suspect both PGL and Fissure actually own theirs, maybe BLAST too) is probably much cheaper than renting a live venue for the audience.

I state that having a venue with an audienc costs more but you're right they probably own the studio but it's all moot because PGL/Fissure is likely owned by Russian gambling companies and ESL is owned by the Saudis and none of their events make money except maybe PGL/Fissure who likely own/have a stake in the betting companies who are constantly promoted

But seriously traditional sports make most of their money from selling broadcasting rights but in e-sports it's broadcast for free then there's ticket sales but we have events with no audiences so how come no one questions how constant USD$1 million prize pool events by Blast/PGL/Fissure in a studio with casters and other staff is funded

Same thing happens in CS and I don't know enough about other esports to say something about them. I'm a long time Dota watcher and I'd say the percentage of games which seemed suspicious to me was relatively low. There are a couple of teams and a certain player who I consider the most likely to be a fixer, but I won't name them since I don't like spreading rumors. I only watch tier 1 Dota though.
