The first one was an accident.
They had another one because Ashley thought the first one should have a friend.
Ashley insists the third one was also an accident but Andrew can't help but think it was unusual that the condom had more holes than Swiss cheese, not that he cared enough to put a different one on.
The fourth was another planned one because Ashley thinks siblings should come in pairs.

I know a month is like centuries for the mind of a modern zoomer but this did make me ponder quite a few things.

Like, how long are we talking about? I can easily excuse and probably make a void where I can skip a year and get back in here but Nemlei wrote this as if we are talking about several years.
Like, yeah no shit it will take time. I've worked on RPGmaker games myself, its among the easier engines but still is hard on the way nemlei is using it
This is also begging me to question the scope of the game because if It is meaning what I think it means, then we might be getting as much if not more than what Decay part 1 brought us which makes me a bit concerned.
I am definitely confident that nemlei can pull it but I have witnessed way too many creators like nemlei who got too confident with their ability to make a masterpiece who just end up eating cow shit and end their reputation as a whole by making their work way too bloated or just have a shitty ending.
I have experienced this way too many times.

Nemlei is genuinely talented on her craft and possibly one of the greatest writers of our modern times but even then I am afraid of the tumble and fall because Nemlei femoid nature just makes it that she takes some complaints to heart which I fucking pray doesn't affect how the ending plays out. I want it to play naturally, like Splat or S&S ending (Not bad but just those that go naturally with the story). No sudden changes or plot twists that fuck up the entire story.

Chapter 2 was released in Q4 of 2023. We got DecayA a week ago, and I imagine it will take the same amount of time or more. At this point I'll get buried before we see Burial released.

Anything and everything you can make Andrew or Ashley do in gameplay IS "in-character", that's why the Olive Branch "endings" are a "brain tumor vision" and not just a choice you can actually make in Episode 2.

Probably a year, give or take.

Decay Part 1 did take a year and a half, but partially due to setbacks with the engine issues, gameplay wise it's already completed but it needs art remaining.

Leyley is Ashley's protective persona, someone she pretends to be to face adversity and loneliness and rejection, acting out to pay back perceived slights, She's an annoying brat who is obsessed with her brother and wants to boss him around.

Ashley is the perceptive girl who loves her brother, sees him for who he is, accepts him, and wants to spend the rest of her days with him, even eloping with him,

Ashley is someone she could mature into, but unless Andrew is willing to accept her, she sees no reason to, so she stays as Leyley and takes their relationship for a joke that it is.

We legit did not have any clue what this was about UNTIL Decay route and the questionable burial route change.
In the normal playthrough we really didn't get why he even got that but with the recent change of Ashley putting the plushie in the cage, we now understand why the mark appeared.
Ashley or Leyley claims Andrew as hers and only hers, like we see in the Andy path in Decay.

Burial might now not be the good wholesome plot we always thought, but it is turning into a really interesting plot point in my opinion.

I think that the reason Nemlei modified the dialog in Graves was because if Ashley unambiguously trusted Andrew, there really wouldn't be anywhere for her story to go. These two would already be happy and all Burial would be would be the "two kids and a dog in the backyard" ending.
The happy ending of Burial will be Ashley trying to lock Andrew up only for her to explore her subconscious and see who Andrew really is and realize that she doesn't have to. He loves her already.

This image makes me so fucking angry. This should obliterate any perception of Andrew being strung along by some psycho manipulator sister. I think it's safe to say the paintings were in fact Ashley's perception and how she will act in Burial. So I'm under the impression that she will symbolically set Andrew free to do what he wants. And what she thinks is that he loves Julia and wants to be with her.
But Decay pretty much forcefed people that Andrew didn't love or even really like Julia and that Julia moved on during quarantine with a bad opinion of him. So Ashley will probably set him free and he'll just turn back around to Ashley.

I honestly disagree with Nemlei's negative view on burying the past.
I feel like trying to drag everything out and act like there's some deeper meaning to them being such miserable kids just makes everything worse.
End result is this. Andrew loves Ashley and Ashley loves Andrew. Their past identities are completely erased.

Personally I do think Nemlei will split Burial into two parts. She wanted Decay to be one part too but even half of it is longer than the first two chapters combined. She's going to end up loving the story too much and wanting to flesh it out.

2. The mom already figured out the parasites aren't real. She does ask if they can be helped but the Surgeon says that they will be dead very soon by "parasites". By involving the parents in the scheme, he's got them under control and quiet.

People already asked why the company just didn't kill the whole family. They were ready to do that to the entire building and trick the parents to joining the kids. This was probably the last chance to make a deal before they did just disappear the mom for being too much of a hassle.

I think thay stunted Ashleys development more than anything. She was maturing and it looked like she had genuine romantic/sexual feelings for Andrew and was trying to come on to him, but the rejection fucked her up and caused her to stop maturing out of fear itd drive Andrew further away.
