is aghanim bitch alchemist a valid role? I've had a couple, and I'm... neutral, but skewed to negative regarding them
they do ward, too, and it feels GREAT to get a free aghs, but they occupy your jungle, don't contribute to fights, and cant do shit because instead of farming items, they're farming aghanims
so with the carry farming as well,, that makes three actual people playing the game
our carry farmed for the whole game, at minute 50 or some shit, his score was 0 1 2
0 1 2
zero kills, one death, two assists
in the end, his KDA was 1 5 5

alchemist was like 5 12 19, still much more impact that the carry, but DAMN he didn't have shit by the end
at least other supports can participate in fights, alchemist just.... does the acid thing, stuns himself, and regenerates really quick

You should be farming extra Aghs last, not first.

Maybe years ago when it didn't give you gpm buffs and refunded the Aghs cost to the person getting gifted and shit, you would say gifting Aghs to teammates late is not worth it but now, it should be a lategame thing unless you really want an Aghs on somebody early like core WW.

You need a team that deals physical damage and can make use of the stun. The main point of support alchemist is to stun once or thrice every minute, stack camps and get bounty runes.
Atos/blink set you up for stuns or kills, euls can straight up save your ass, greaves or even an early mek can win teamfights while a spirit vessel destroys regen whores.

Also aghs rushing is retarded. I did have some slav retard picking alchemist 1 rushing a radiance to then farm aghs and he gave a warlock the upgrade only for the golems to die faster against AoE (the upgrade is basically a farming item).
You can use those to farm heroes for the aghanims

What's the fucking point? You can already get your debuff to a 8s duration with a talent and the flight skill itself has 50% uptime at rank 4 FOR FREE.

Hero has two stuns but is ultimately a mana battery that killsteals and turns gold into losses.

If you want to have an impact feed that aghs to someone who will have more of an impact such as a lina (the nigger playing it will not spend 4.2k gold on Aghs and will instead get a maelstrom) or Magnus (horn toss is that good)

You should watch a good player on WW with Q permanently on. They can pull all sorts of bullshit with the terrain and enemy teams will almost never be able to handle her if she's with her team. Plus the damage output lets her dominate the game by herself until like 40+ mins.

Back in the ye olde days, they made and released hats one item at a time instead of releasing 20 full sets per chest. That's a relic of the launch-era system.

You get one per week because Valve got sick of traders trying to farm infinite hats and gave everyone the middle finger. Not just for Dota, but for EVERYTHING.

Basically, yes.

There is a swing animation, the actual hit, and then a backswing animation.
You are cancelling the attack after the first swing animation so they skip the backswing. They can't start a new attack cycle during the backswing even when cancelled but they can move. So what happens is that instead of standing there to attack and then deciding to move after the backswing is over, they are constantly maintaining a close distance to the target they want to kill. That way, when an enemy is running away, you don't stop chasing them after every attack.

You also see this on ranged heroes too. This isn't a melee-only thing.

They hit the guy and then move, the benefit is that you're getting off free hits while constantly positioning yourself in a better place while doing damage and harrassing and what not.
What you're doing is tailing while a pro would hit you and then follow you closely to hit you again and then get off more hits and stay nearer so he could hit you again while you basically tail someone and they can just walk off while you get maybe 2 or 3 hits someone that clicks with his mouse and presses A will get off 5 or 6 hits

How do you catch farm while winning without falling super behind? I always found it easier to farm because they are sieging and we are behind and waiting for me to get strong enough to kill them off cooldown on failed hg attempts. When we are winning thought it feels like the moment I start grouping to win and press the advantage they have the ability to farm and catch up while I'm losing lots of time. So I end up on a timer or ending in X minutes or they win and the games feel very pingpongy when I thought games should if played correctly swiftly end once a team has an advantage and chokes the other team out.

Lock them inside their base, farm the whole map. Also you need teammates with minimal brainpower, to many times in my games we get rs and then my team fuck off to afk farm, or we get a couple good pick offs making it 5v3, we go hg and 2 of my teammates decide to tp back to take care of one wave of creeps turning the hg push from 5v3 to 3v3.

Try picking Drow and just selecting to auto attack a creep camp, versus click/move/click/move, you'll notice a difference because drow's backswing animation lasts for a thousand eons

I like these elimination draft tournaments. I would like it to continue to game 5 though instead of resetting though. It has not made league that much more watchable from what I can tell. I really thought it would. Encourages deeper hero pools.

Sunsfan said the runes should move up and down the river a little bit after spawning. I think thats a good idea. A slight amount of randomness to keep the games fresh without a patch longer.

Just tested this and it seems like it doesn't actually increase the aoe of wall, they still have to stand directly inside the wall itself for it to trigger. It does seem to make wall slightly longer but it's hard to tell. Works as expected for shell and vaccumn though.

I'm pretty sure the offlane dusa was something campo santo was designing for, the new root ability just fits in too perfectly. Especially the fact that the talent for it is +20% aoe rather than just a flat +100 or whatever like most other talents meaning it's also amplifying the gleipnir increase.

I disagree with how Fissure is doing the elimination draft, but it does make sense. I think once a hero has been picked by either team it should be removed. As it is now, its one team picking FOTM then the other team picking it (if the first team does not waste a ban on it). Functionally, you still see almost all the same heroes in a BO3 with no real changes.

I'm kind of amazed Parivision feels like they're losing this game 2 now. They started off great, smashed all lanes, took an early mid T2, and then it started going to hell because turns out they let TB farm 24/7 after lane and now he's getting too big to kill on top of AA and Magnus wrecking shit in every fight so they don't have enough damage and survivability to win fights. Liquid went for a greedy draft and are not getting punished for it anymore.

Aghs is just a trap, full stop. It's a cool idea but it's a dead end.
It doesn't do enough for a core and your skills can't turn a fight on top of bleeding bounty. It's also horrible timing wise for you. It's MUCH too expensive for a support for what it gives you.
She'd need a completely different price point on it to justify it.

yeah, some aghs are just too expensive for what they offer. and too bad that at the same time their gimmicks seem to be quite interesting to play around with
it would be cool to see aghs having it's cost reduced.
like by removing point booster and making the overall price closer to 3000~ (mb with some cheap extra components thrown to the mix). to balance some upgrades heroes get could be nerfed and then introduce purchasable second tier to the aghs which restores its power or simply gives additional bonuses to scale better.

Different item builds have different upsides and downsides. You are trading stats and higher regen for a greedier passive regen path. So you will have to adjust your play accordingly. And better enemies will notice and punish you accordingly. But if you know how to play to your strengths and avoid your weaknesses you can make it work, and have strats you can use in the future so have at it.
