as soon as you get to the fun engaging content, 12++, if you're not playing tank or healer your going to hit a wall of progression because everyone is shoved into this bottleneck where you have 100s of people at any given time trying to get into the next key on the list they need, its miserable.
So instead of playing the game youre reduced to applying for jobs until you get a call back, its not fun, its not engaging, and many people just go play something else instead of engaging with the process.
IMAGINE a new game trying to sell and retain players if the core gameplay loop isnt playing the fucking game, its applying to group after group. Say you have 3-5 hours after work before you need to wind down, are you going to slog it out in lfg or go play a game that actually lets you play your character.

cataclysm ruined darkshore
bfa kinda made it better but it felt like a completely different location
it was supposed to correlate with other night elf locations like teldrassil and ashenvale and be a darker location, a bit like silverpine forest (a horde location that was supposed to mirror darkshore, undead-night elf, you get the idea)
but blizzard decided to make it more like the other night elf zones and so the vibe gets lost

Yeah I'm fond of the Vanilla Darkshore and Felwood more (I'm that fag and baked) but I can't help but find Cata versions pretty still. I know it's not the og but it has it's own charm, Silverpine Forest is nice too.

I only said silverpine in the context that they are similar in their own right, both locations are very narrow compared to the others, and since undead and night elves are just two races that mirror each other gameplay-wise, these second locations of these races are similar, but maybe it's just a coincidence

NW is actually pretty easy so replace it with sanguine depths
upper kara is much worse than lower
maybe include a brand new returning dungeon thats bloated to the max with cancer abilities instead of grimrail. maybe a revamped niuzao or halls of origination (you HAVE to kill all bosses)

I had to quit my game I was so mind boggled by the last arena. There's my team: fury warrior, shadow priest, and some type of druid, and then there is their team: disc priest, and 2 fury warriors.
The rocket surgeons on my team decide "hey, let's waste time focusing on the warriors instead of just killing the priest", all 3 of us on the priest and he would have died almost instantly. It took a while for the warriors to kill them too, meaning they could have easily tanked the damage.

It's funny because the Gilnean reclamation is very much a reflection of what has gone wrong with WoW and how the tonal shift has made the plot extremely shitty. I'm not saying that we need to fully retvrn to full faction war and leaders being chuds, but it doesn't feel right anymore.

Although now the Alliance is super authoritarian now since they still have (absent) kings and shit. Undoubtedly that will change soon as well.

The 'common people' probably don't. And if they showed this in game, I honestly wouldn't have a problem with the current lore. If they showed that the diplomacy really was only between the leaders, and there was growing friction between the commoners and the faction leaders, I think that could be a cool lore element. But they won't.

I'm a bit confused on how the crafting embellishments work. I know you can only have 2 pieces of embellished gear but I already crafted a 375 weapon and put an embellshemtn on it

I mean that's my sincere opinion. Most of WoW's specs aren't hard. Only becomes difficult when you add in every single other thing + are in the hardest content available or Arena against other humans.

That said, Prot Paladin or Brewmaster IMO. Not to say they're remarkably tough but they are rather punishing and can easily explode with a single forgotten GCD in higher keys.

enhance gets to play the (in my view) more fun build where you're mashing big damage Lava Lashes now, if that matters. But the tradeoff is you gotta micromanage this gay ass totem and make sure it's always nearby, and in heavy movement this is very fucking annoying, even with the free movement recast + totemic projection.

I find Enhance MUCH more fun than elemental but Ele is generally a bit better right now and a lot of people find the button mashy nature of its new rotation very fun/satisfying. They unfortunately have their own problem similar to Enhance, only instead of a totem you need to manage it's Earthquake; the bigger downside is that even though it's less annoying on YOUR end, if your tank/other teammates fuck up the mob grouping, there's ZERO control on your end to fix it - your damage simply disappears. This will happen more often than you'd expect, even in 12+ keys. Both specs are fun and are relatively strong. Mediocre survivability, Stone Bulwark Totem is alright but in reality if you don't have Astral Shift you're still quite squishy.

the reason I think blood dk is hard is because its a reactive playstyle that inherently makes you take a lot of burst damage, and if you aren't experienced with the class its easier to panic and make your healer's life a lot harder. I just think its harder relative to other tanks.

Played ele last season and am playing enh this season (both stormbringer) and they're both really fun, I switched to enh because I wanted a change of pace and to try out melee dps after only playing ranged for a while and found out I like melee more

brews do a lot better when taking higher but now they just end up with little to no stagger right now

theres a thing with low auto attack damage or low pull counts making stagger worthless because the damage intake is too low so you cant build stagger faster than it decays

you can still "force" your certain defensives to be stronger with blackout combo but its very inefficient without a steady flow of purified chi

Gazlowe is not in a higher position of power than the other cartel council members. Him kicking away the big chair to take a seat at the smaller chair in the council is pretty obvious symbolism for that.
Gazlowe didn't start the revolution on his own. Renzik, an Alliance aligned goblin, did, and was even made a martyr and a rallying figure after his death.
This was all done on an undead rogue character who's only changes were that the rogue aligned NPCs recognized you as Shadowblade still

They pretty much reverted Gazlowe back to how he was as the neutral boss he was back in Ratchet. Which is pretty fine, he was mostly only shoved in as the new Bilgewater leader just because of all the contract work that he did for the Horde, and living in close proximity to them. Never went all-out for them, but proved the most reliable Goblin they know.
The Horde/Allaince relations mean nothing to the rest of them as they were all neutral* factions.

You only get random interactions throughout the zone, like Rogue related interactions with certain NPC's, Gnomes constantly getting bullied in the streets and... For some reason this random Troll up near the Blackwater vendor if you're also a Troll.

There's probably a bunch of others. Part of the fun exploring the zone on different characters really. But the campaign is pretty straightforward for all sadly.

The expansion is at the halfway point and assuming they don't fuck up colossally, I think it will be remembered pretty well. Delves in particular are probably the best gameplay addition they've added in years. Its kind of solved the problem of 'what if I want to gear, but I don't like how sweaty M+ and high end raiding are'. WoW has always had a weak spot in the form of pretty much no solo content. They're addressing that finally after like 15 years.

First of all, don't install any of this poz if you're new.
Just roll with the default UI, get weakauras as in weakauras the base addon, and set up weakauras the way you feel you need.
Like when you need to keep an eye on a buff, set up a basic WA for it and tune it as you go.
That goes from anything - play the game as it is and when you think "hm I could use xyz", look up how to do/get xyz addon or WA.
Never these stupid pre made packs that "have all set up".

Does anyone have any recommendations for a prebuilt that can actually handle high-end mythic raiding? I want to run the game on high at least and run a shitton of weakauras without having to worry about performance. Some classes have things in that aren’t tracked on your action bars and it’s kind of nice to have more info in one place. It’s mostly personal preference though. They absolutely aren’t mandatory but I like using one and hiding my action bars

the biggest problem for WoW since legion has been that huge, HUGE chasm between Heroic Dungeons and M0. Like I would argue this is where the vast majority of people just drop the game entirely. Now you can gear up through Heroics just using the queue for dungeon tool, then if you aren't feeling like getting into the shitpit that is M+ you can just go and gear through Delves up all the way to mythic gear (as of 11.1), and then get into M+ if you feel like it. But you aren't really forced into it anymore. Delves are way more streamlined and I'm surprised it took them this long to create the system.

I have a friend who mythic raids and he said there are people in his guild with 5k euro pc's that had to turn down settings and effects because the Ansurek fight had so much shit on the ground that they were freezing. Apparently there was also an issue with holy paladin casting wings and creating lag for everyone with the shared dawnlights

Almost everything now has a way to track things via buff or debuff on yourself or the target (I'm saying almost because I don't play all the classes and specs, so I can't say for sure).
That said, DnD puts a buff on you when you stand in it and have it talented.
So what you do is look what's the buff's name and track that. If you're tracking debuffs on targets, make sure you check "mine only".
The most basic thing you can do
>click New
>choose Icon
>go to Trigger tab
>it's preset to Player and Buff
>in the Name field, type the name of the buff
>done
That's the most basic thing, you can go from there and experiment as you please.

I don’t play DK so I don’t know if one of those packs will show that specifically but it’ll show your runes, runic power, procs, and cooldowns all in one place. I do agree with the other guy though, you might have a better time just finding individual weakauras to track what you want to track and piecing together something on your own, especially if you’re new. Again it’s all personal preference
