It has been amusing to see all the magenta names in the official Discord who can only respond with "git gud" and "play vs him like hes nurse".

One dude clashed with them over someone saying 'just u turn him', and suddenly 4 people are calling the guy passive aggressive for asking of examples of counterplay instead of blindly saying "he has counterplay" without giving examples.

I play both sides and lean killer.
The only killers I dont enjoy right now?
Trapper, Nurse, Twins (if they're a slug twin), Knight, Skull, and Ghoul.

I so rarely see Hound, Singularity, Artist, Trickster that I cant judge them as I rarely get practice on them.

Trapper is so weak vs coordinated/all high level players, if folks know how to coordinate against him, and so stronk vs solo.

Nurse post rework is obnoxious as well, and her base kit numbers are VASTLY stronger than her 2016-2022 (2023?) era self.

Twins is self explanatory post rework.

Knight is very unfun to vs if they know what they're doing cause his anti loop is self controlling and strong AF. But good body blocks/teamwork fuck him....but thats not solo queue.

Skull is self explanatory, even post nerf (tho now its just cause its zzzz, she can be beat more easily than before)

Ghoul genuinely has minimal downsides;
A sub 1 second downtime post power,
a built in deep wound,
the fastest/farthest mobility (and one of the fastest cooldowns) in the game,
115 MS (remember how they said spirit was 110 cause her going 25 meters in 10 seconds was 'too strong'? Good times)

Have no doubt hes fun to play, but that doesnt mean hes fun to VS.

The problem with most competitors is not cause of bad IP, its not even cause its 'unfun'; VHS, Last Year, and TCM alone all died because they REFUSED to listen to both sides. Their discords and forums became echo chambers, they banned anyone who didn't praise them, and the only creators who got into their programs were those who didn't have any criticism of the games and only abject praise. Additionally, LY and Evil Dead died cause of exclusivity; Discord (lmao) and Epic respectively.

I've actually quit and come back a number of times. Its why I "only" have 2.4k~ hours and 0 legacy skins despite playing since beta.

I would disagree on 'pretty good job'; I could detail all the shit going back to 2016 on just *how often* the devs, and Mcote in particular (and almo), have stuck their foot in their mouths.

The game survives IN SPITE of BHVR, not because of.
Deathgarden died due to bad design and balancing.
Meet Your Maker died due to bad design and balancing.
Frank Stone was EVISCERATED on mulitple fronts despite not even being a asym.

I've made a lot of good friends, met a lot of great creators. But DBD has never been a good job game. Labor of love is a joke in light of the fact that it took them NINE YEARS to announce their first 'Operation Health' patch was "coming soon".

All we need is 1 good game that courts creators in and out of DBD, listens to people on all sides of the game (and all skill levels), and has true transparency, and BHVR will fucking W I L T.
We almost saw it happen twice with VHS; theres a reason they made a company first and revealed a 30 second teaser with no gameplay/models (They have never done this before or since AFAIK) FOUR MONTHS before release (They never teased that early on, and almost never done so since)

VHS genuinely made the devs work on their shit.
F13 genuinely made the devs work on their shit.
LY genuinely made them work on their shit.

But each time, the competitor would start banning and silencing criticism, glaring issues came up, and ultimately...the games would shrivel. And once folks returned, BHVR went back to 'just good enough'.

Otz' numbers were good for awhile in VHS and TCM and in the Spy game awhile back. He keeps his viewers.
He left VHS because he saw the writing on the wall (and I suspect he was rejected for Rewinders cause they had almost no 'killer mains' on it)

Tru3's numbers have been horrid for years. And I say that as a former big fan, so hes not a fair example.

I think it just needs the right timing and devs with the right approach to community management. Start how VHS did, then dont continue how they did lmao.

They nerfed wesker, blight and nurse several times already, the thing is that they also nerfed several survivor crutches like dead hard, infinite loops, survivor sided maps and other retarded exploits along the way, so their relative strength hasn't changed.

Ghoul is high A tier, low S tier (below Nurse, Blight and Billy, but above pretty much everyone else) and has the biggest kill rates in the game right now, so expect a nerf either next week or in the midchapter patch.

I think Ghoul is fine as he is, it's natural that survivors are going to be bothered by a new A or S tier killer dropping especially if he's all they go against for a while. The changes I would recommend:

Buffs:
-Remove the temporary lock-out penalty from trying to aim a tentacle at somewhere you can't. This feels like shit and there's zero reason for it. This would be like making Trapper unable to set traps for a second if he tried to set one down somewhere he couldn't.

Nerfs:
-Get rid of his ability to apply Deep Wounds. Ghoul is a high mobility killer, up their with Blight and Nurse, and such killers shouldn't benefit from survivor time wasting mechanics.
-Make his fast vault/fast recovery into M1 if he tentacles a survivor on the other side of a vault/pallet only apply to a second or third leap, not the first leap, so that it has to be predicted and can be played around. Presently vaults in all but the tinest of loops are free hits. This may already be the case, but it doesn't feel like it.

Tweaks:
-Remove the auto-aim against injured survivors. You don't want to injure them again, you're trying to aim past them to cut them off.
-Make him scream and transform once in the lobby animation, and then no more. He never shuts up.

Turrets getting turned off when you come out of the tunnel without an add-on or anything is really dumb and unintuitive. I thought they were all running an add-on that did that. tail attack windup is a big deal, but the cooldown changes and buffs to turret resistance make up for it. If you hit your attack, you catch up noticeably faster and missing isn't punished as much, and a few addons got buffed. Overall the changes are surprisingly decent.

No, if adjacent tiles are exhausted before they exhaust a tile, they can't hold w to the other end of the map for free. Either way a good survivor should be able to waste so much time vs kaneki at a jungle gym before even dropping the pallet that your point is irrelevant.

To buff SWF. Hook timers don't matter in solo queue because there will always be someone unhooking the survivor within 10 seconds of them getting hooked, even if the killer is obviously patrolling the hook and planning to tunnel or chase the rescuer. Since full release there’s been 3 trials and another around the corner pretty sure. I’ve lost track of how many different game modes and modifiers they’ve added but it’s a lot and they do one like every other week. We’ve gotten one more villain, this time with a ranged weapon, and we’re getting another soon too. Season 3 is coming out just two weeks after the next update apparently. Your cure to depression is to move your ass and start getting exhausted, so go for walks, exercise, get a physical job and all those miserable feelings will be gone. Can't speak on the behalf of family situation unless you've got some uncle in a better neighborhood.

this is very bad advice. exercise is important and definitely a first-step but it is not a cure all for most people.
he should seek either seek professional help (fat chance of affording a decent one in america though) as well as journal nightly and get into creative, tangible hobbies that aren't gaming.
he may even discover some poontang in a book club or sculpting workshop somewhere and then that's two birds with one stone.
definitely start with exercise though, just don't assume it'll fix everything.

Bhvr rewards this playstyle by the way because bleedouts are mmr neutral so between going afk whenever I play against a twitch streamer or an obvious SWF and the constant slugging and bleedouts, my mmr stays static at a very low level and I get to continue stomping noobs.

Tokyo John has four main powers and I'm sick of them in combination:
1) Free injury on healthy survivors if he LoS on you.
2) Great map traversal (any S tier killer needs this).
3) Guaranteed hit if you vault in front of him around all but the smallest loops, as he can follow you with a very fast vault by just shooting a tentacle after you vault.
4) Guaranteed hit out in the open the likes of which even Nurse doesn't enjoy because his power is to just catch up quickly with just a small cooldown of inaction.

Kindred should be half basekit for solo q where survivors see each other's auras when someone is on hook.
Then to buff Kindred you can give whoever unhooks 3s of endurance to prevent trades if the killer is proxy camping and keep the 16m killer aura read.

I'm usually a survivor main but I've taken to playing either Xeno or Cenobite to give my fellow survivors a break from Kaneki. My intent is to try to play friendly (if survivors are up for it too meme and have fun) or if that fails just play a regular match, playing fairly and giving the last survivor hatch.
I get how frustrating it is to feel like everything is against you as survivor in dbd (especially solo queue, where I'm usually at) so I hope this will give some survivors at least a bit of relief from the current dire situation..

One time you get 4 baby survivors and an easy win the other time you get 4 sweats and another time you will get a complete mix, and a complete mix of people where they are either good at looping or objective prio is the best experience one should be getting. The game is all about eliminating the weakest one (like it is in the animal kingdom).
The main problem is the playerbase bitching about the games being too hard, it's not supposed to be balanced, people just want "fairness" and get some kick from getting to a certain rank or something, pretending like anything matters in this party game besides fun.
I just hope they do something cool with mmr, that of course you will get to play with people from a better league once you get higher. Maybe just implement normals and ranked mode? Some people would get hooked on ranked and some casuals would just play with retard builds on normals. Could divide the playerbase in a good way.

Its been 5 months since any new content for survivors, they keep balancing/buffing killers. Slugging and even camping is still an issue even though they added a miserable anti-facecamping system (YES, I STILL GET FACECAMPED).

Then not only did BHVR admit with Ken Kaneki that making him a survivor would be boring, even though it would've been more lore accurate, you also make him disgusting broken (literally) hitting through walls and being able to cover a whole map in a matter of seconds.

I know survivors can be entitled and dickheads too, but it would be nice if we could admit that survivor experience is absolutely fucking miserable. Just because you got put against 4 idiots trying to bully doesn't mean every survivor plays like that. Hell, even playing full team with friends it's still very hard.

At least they buffed bloodpoints but if the changes for the next patch don't help making the game more fun for survivors, then how exactly will they manage to retain (new) FNAF fans?

After playing a bunch of Kaneki I do feel like his recovery over pallets is a little too quick because pairing it with knockout is almost a free hit on anything that isn't a short loop.

The first hit attack was made into a fucking hitscan lock on because bhvr believed grapple attacking as a skillshot would be impossible for console players (Even though they made a geometry rebound shot killer who requires flickshotting against good survivors)
The second cant down you, so you just have to play what tile you have as long as you can. The trick is to basically use the first hit to run to whatever safe loop is near and play around that, never leaving until he eventually gets you.
Keneki is a killer who is a absolute pubstomper except without the high skill floor blight and spirit have.
