Kasumi route finished! Woo... That was dogshit. Like absolutely dogshit. I don't believe for a moment that this can really be called Kasumi's route, it's the Kei shilling route. Kei is the only heroine the route gives a shit about. She gets the big teary farewell and everything. Poor Rea and Marie getting shoved on the bus cause we've gotta give more time to shit head Kei... Anyway, time for the Kei route. Going in I absolutely hate her character and want nothing more than to finish it and get to hang out with Marie. Kei is worst girl.

After 6 months of hard work, my Irotoridori no Hikari(2012 version) Fan TL is finally ready for release, all routes 100% translated, proof-read, and edited.,Terms like Liberator and Great Library were kept for terminology consistency. I'm too tired to do Akai Hitomi,
this is probably my first and last VN translation, it's way too much work :(
This place is the only "official" announcement of this.

the most decent one is
https://vndb.org/v3061 which has a pretty unique premise i've literally only seen on manga, im almost 100% sure its the only vn like this. also its also pretty fucking flawed, mc is voiced, but he is pretty much the average early 2000's mc, so his voice actually comes up as anoying, i genuinelly recomend muting him. also, one heroine got absolutelly fucked over for no reason if you dont pick her route, and i dont mean the usual up to imagination thing, the game explicity shows you what happens to her.
there's also tsutokiss which is also great, but its not exactly an obscure oldge. it has a pretty strong set of heroines, unironically one of the best i have seen on the medium. and even though it does shows its age in some parts, its pretty hard to believe its a 2005 game

>>520226920 to me, the reason he chooses to seclude himself at the end of the game despite all of his attempts to connect to his friends/fellow-autists is because they were just that, attempts, and they failed. he always ended up "crossing" a line with each and every one of them barring maybe sakuraba, who his relationship with was always of the nature of two people talking past one another in my mind. therefore for him, someone of admittedly a still somewhat immature mind, the only logical choice to give everyone their happy endings, was to remove himself from them, somewhat abruptly and immaturely. if you had the experience in your youth of having a really close friend that you one day suddenly realized you were on entirely different wavelengths from, and chose to just kind of let it go without any depth to your departure, I think that's what the ending of the vn is trying to emulate. and then even in spite of that, those connections still mean something to him, they hold great significance in the face of the trauma he's both endured and inflicted upon others, so the attempted separation is juvenile and somewhat in vain, as he hasn't really "burned the bridge" so to speak, leaving the "channel" open in the wake of his departure. again, this is a highly biased and personally influenced interpretation of the story, as it happened to hit me at the right time in my life for me to make those connections. Just the fact that he is trying to communicate with others even if there's no reply is enough to preserve his sanity. It also almost felt like he was trying to test if it was possible for a human to live alone without connecting with others but ended up realizing "it is worth it to communicate even if means you'll be harming others". I think the line between "it's worth it to communicate even if it means you're harming others" and the "immature notion of letting others live on without your harm" are far from mutually exclusive. unfortunately, as previously mentioned, the vagueness of romeo's style shines through here, leaving no clear answer as to whether it was a choice borne from selflessness or selfishness, as kurosu is shown (at least to my recollection, admittedly it's been a while since I last played this vn) to have his regrets about his impulsive actions (those scenes which are played largely for comedy while being contrasted against his more heinous traumas both intrinsic and inflicted) leaves a big space for interpretation about how he truly feels about everything that goes down throughout the story. unfortunately on that note it's past 4AM here and I'll be passing out drunk soon, though I truly appreciate the discussion we've had so far.

I think it's also why it lacks the buildup and is done in such a "rushed" fashion. Like a rough fragmented fantasy - the longer it goes the less details and more 'plotholes' there are.
That said I think the true route finale falls pretty flat, but eh. I can kinda forgive it since the whole thing was artistically awesome.
