>>519191529This. There were a lot of people who could have prevented this at a lot of different points, and Leffen is one of them. The only reason that people disagree is that Leffen is such a narcissistic cocksucker that there was never a possibility of him saying
>Wow, this was unhinged, but I'm sorry you feel this way and I hope we can squash the beefor even just ignoring Hax's attack on his character. The irony is that the Melee community has so thoroughly established and internalized the belief that Leffen is "just as an asshole" that he is just... allowed to be an asshole. Even though Hax chose to present them in an overdramatic way, most of the allegations he leveled at Leffen were true:
>Leffen was repeating highly toxic patterns of behavior that he had been previously banned for in Sweden>Leffen was directly undermining Hax's own projects, like the Nightclub and B0xx>Leffen used his platform to suppress factually correct, but unflattering information about himself in Metagame>Leffen used his platform (Twitch and YouTube) to attack players whom he personally, in his own words, "hated" like Hax nad hbox>people are just letting it happenNone of these things are untrue, and everyone mocked Hax because he made the mistake of reading a few Wikipedia articles and "that's just how Leffen is, bro!" Leffen openly says shit like, "Hbox is killing this game and is objectively an evil human being," and no one does anything. Hax reminds people of who the bully with a pulpit really is and gets banned for it because Leffen, once again, plays the fucking victim. Don't disrupt the status quo even though we all know who and what Leffen is, and even though the DBFZ, Strive, and Tekken communities all know the same shit.
I'm not saying that Leffen caused this directly, but he contributed to it through years of consistent, consistently toxic behavior that has impacted far more people than just Hax. This whole situation is just so fucking stupid and pointless.
