Doom actually plays fine on anything with two analog sticks, PS1 included.
It was rough on the Snes, Genesis, and N64 (which is a shame because D64 is quite good orherwise)

Doom can play fine with just a single analog stick. The only real problem with 64 is that you need to either move with your right hand, or stretch your thumb in an unnatural way to hit the face buttons while using the d-pad. It was already designed for digital movement, and it's easier to SR40 on a d-pad than it is a stick.

FOV is entirely a question of your monitor/monitors horizontal distance. Theoretically you could do 200fov and be find if you have one of those super huge curved UHD screens

I never liked smart scope myself aesthetically, but I did always find it funny how many people, even years after the game released, would interface with it incorrectly. You rarely needed to use it for guns that got minor zoom from it. It was really only beneficial if the target was pretty far away. But people would immidiately snap to it every time regardless of distance like it was Call of Duty, significantly hindering their evasive movement in the process.

BR usage is another example. Most players that EVEN KNOW headshots are pointless before shields break STILL go for them the entire time.

When Warcraft changed into the state it is now. Did those in the community who were screaming at Blizzard change anything in the end? Did the Warhammer fans who were there from the beginning complain about the many changes to the setting now matters to GW. Which Halo has the best cinematics?
For me, personally, 2A is disqualified for having mostly pre-rendered cutscenes. It's not only cheating, but it has less 'replayability' due to being permanently stuck in one 'view'. With in-game custscenes, bugs and other interesting things can still happen, maybe based on the skulls activated, or even mods installed. You can also change your armor in games like Reach or with mods that add custom Spartans/armors to the campaigns.

Not they/them but the autistic modding community would probably find a way to bootleg a server system using the MCC's LAN connection mode. They already have a similar thing for doing game nights. Xenia. Someone would probably figure out how to make online work for Halo 3 again, like they did with 2. If all else fails, there's still Custom Edition on PC. El Dewrito would probably get a big player boost too. And even if MCC's dedicated servers got shut down, they game wouldn't just disappear from your steam library. You'd still be able to play all the campaigns and mods and stuff offline. And someone would probably figure out how to get online working again with player hosted servers eventually.

The best kind of Halo mod. Equally best are the complete campaign overhaul mods such as SPV3, Mythic Overhaul, and to a lesser extent, Ruby's Rebalance mods (But his Halo 2 mod is looking pretty good).

But thats exactly the problem I'm pondering out. Classic Halo fans have done nothing to contribute nothing to the franchise besides complaining and asking for an experience that will never be the games they (*Quote* grew up with.) It's like, for example, having a New York-style pizza, and you enjoyed it. Then you ate a different pizza, and then you complained about it being different for not tasting the same. It's still pizza, but it's made by a different person. Same with a chef's cooking, it's different from the one you like. That's what the fanbase has done for 12 years. Complaining to Microsoft about petty differences and a direction that some don't want.

No.. I understand, but my main point is the hypocrisy of certain people here and those who call themselves fans of (Classic Halo), demanding for something that is nothing based on reality. I hear this argument over and over again, that Halo fans say that "their Halo" is wrong, and they mistreat the fans of the franchise for not listening to what they want. That they hate this series and are dragging it to the ground and ruining it. Please no. The great thing about 3 not having an anniversary edition is that I can install it on most of my toaster laptops and still have room for other games and mods. An Anniversary Edition is gonna take up unnecessary amounts of space while also ruining the art style like they did with CEA and H2A. No thank you. Bungie definitely has some of the blame because of Reach. If it weren't for Reach, we wouldn't have Halo 4. Or maybe we would have Halo 4, but at least we could blame it entirely on 343. You think 380 or railcannon is going to be village killing munitions, but it's really just a ww2 battleship gun, incapable of collapsing a single house with one hit. The novelty of it coming from space rubs off very soon when you see how little damage it all does. Plus it's not even from orbit - the ship is visible to the naked eye when it shoots. Star wars bookshit and games have more orbital bombardment than anything. They even do it in the cartoons for neglected children. You can call an orbital strike in battlefront 2004 with the sniper class. I think there's a way to do it in battlefront 2005 as well but not sure.

nah, this is nothing. The opposite direction is far worse and more tarnishing for ips.
You have no idea how much worse it can be with a fanbase that isn't critical enough. Look at Sonic. Look at Nintendo. Any fanbase that blindly accepts and gets excited for a new logo that comes up is sending a signal that the devs can keep producing slop after slop.
Halo is bad because 343i is an incompetent developer and Microsoft is a terrible publisher with access to the infinite money glitch.
The fans being too critical or nostalgic can be an issue, but it's like 200th on the list of what went wrong with Halo.

What they had to deal with in the early 2000s should've been used as an example for this franchise and others like it to see where gaming was becoming. The people here and on YouTube acted like Halo was back when they showed the classic artstyle and believed they were doing a clean slate when 343 said so. Just because you people have gotten 2 questionable games 4/5. Doesn't mean it was the end. But because you guys were desperate and petty enough for the next game to be like the classic experience. You didn't care about the disconnected continuity. You didn't care for what 343 fans had to say afterward. All you guys wanted was the validation online to be back. When the game came out and became mediocre, not only did the Halo fanbase make a fool out of itself in the larger gaming space. But it represents the Halo community as it is now. a hollow and confused mess, trying to reclaim the glory days that no one in this generation of gaming cares about.

Halo fans complained about the COD aspects in Halo 4 and Halo 5, that it was getting away from how Halo played. Even though it played like every other game in the series before that. The new direction isn't as interesting as Bungie's direction. There's no reason to make the Forerunners aliens. From a thematic standpoint, Forerunners being Human fit perfectly. There was no need to make the art style less appealing and more tacky, Bungie already had a great art style in 3 that 343 could have iterated on instead of scrap completely and replace with their own. There was no need to add ordnance to Halo. Reach was a one-off game, 343 didn't need to continue on from Reach and keep sprint/armor abilities/reticle bloom. The story, art, and gameplay all got worse when 343 took over. They even added loot boxes to Halo 5. People that grew up with Halo 4 don't know any better, so of course they don't complain. People that grow up playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard because their parents bought them it not knowing any better aren't going to complain either, despite the game not being as good as older games. I still lose connection to matches every few games in Infinite because 343 hasn't completely fixed the game yet. Every time MCC crashes, it's because of Unreal. Halo is not being made to the same quality as when Bungie was in charge. And even when Bungie did mess up (like with 2) they got their act together in later games. 343 hasn't learned a single lesson since Halo 4 and still make the same QA mistakes and ignore the fanbase and just do whatever they want. They still don't get Halo, as we've seen in the newest teaser where they only care about graphics it seems, but the art style isn't Halo, they're still doing their own thing ignoring our feedback.

Halo Infinite should be the final nail to not just this franchise, but also to this community as well. You people didn't like the direction it took from the explained hard sci-fi setting, and rejected it. Then you people ask for a bombastic return for the series when Halo 4 was the actual soft reboot, and abandoning a decade of storytelling that people weren't engaging in was always a disaster. Bungie fans didn't hire devs as temporary contractors so they wouldn't have to pay them full-time, and as a result no one understands the source code anymore. Bungie fans didn't make a television series directed by a man who had never even heard of the series, instead of the guy who made Chappie and District 9, and who was actually enthusiastic about the series. Bungie fans aren't switching to Unreal Engine 5 and using AI-generated content for their next games because it's cheaper than developing an in-house engine, despite how bad UE5 games tend to look.

I believe that the greatest mistake that 343 made was creating MMC. Not only did it make classic fans look like puritans. But has truly created this tribalism, of classic Halo fans and 343 fans. It spoiled people's judgment of the original games associated with people who don't want to change. The sooner MMC gets removed, the better. It has been well established that it was a soft reboot with Halo 4. It didn't have to look similar to the other games in the series, it benefits from being its own thing. I left the Halo community because of the unnecessary drama that came from the Halo 5 beta. So many trivial arguments about movement, artstyle, gameplay, and being about COD. It was not worth it being apart of the fanbase when they couldn't move past that. Now I come back to see it filled with morrons who say they understand Halo when they clearly don't, and I know because I was there back in 2008 to 2012.

Halo died out because it's a casual game that's ultimately too competitive for what people want in a casual shooter. Casual players enjoy other shooters more because Halo is very oppressive if you're bad. For as much as hardcore classic Halo players don't like the direction, from the perspective of casual players it's still too close to classic Halo in the ways that matter and drives them away. Halo started to decline in players once there was more competition in the console shooter space that did a better job appealing to casual players.

As someone who grew up with the original Bungie Halo games. I'm thankful for what those games did, including the experience. I'm pleased with that alone. But I appreciated the direction 343 has taken. That they were willing enough to differentiate their games and style for a new generation of halo fans. I was ready to move on from the story beats of the original trilogy and explore the expanded universe. But then they entertained and listened to the opinions of the Halo community. After they did that, the people in it dragged it down to where it is now

My main point is this. I don't want another Bungie game. I didn't ask for another Halo 3 experience. It's done, and I know other people in the Halo community who think just like me. That's how business works. 343 is a company, they are not our friends. We don't owe them anything. But they want to take our money while also ignoring our feedback. We've already tried your method of being mature and calm about it. But they've been ignoring our feedback for over a decade. Yes, we're angry, and we're past the point of being polite. We gave them several tries to fix the franchise and they keep making it worse. If you like it, fine, you have nothing to complain about. But those that want a good Halo game will continue to criticize 343's decisions. If 343 wanted to make their own thing, they should have done that instead of defiling Halo's corpse. And it's not just 343's fault, it's also Microsoft's. I'd even partially blame Bungie for creating Reach in the first place. Reach exists, so 343 has a footing to stand on and can point to it when people complain about sprint or Spartan abilities/equipment. That being said, I still have Halo 3 on MCC, and I do occasionally enjoy playing Infinite. 343 isn't all bad, but man sometimes they are so disconnected from the community. I don't understand why you want to blame the community when 343 are the ones making all the decisions. We're just buying the game and playing it and complaining about it. You want people to just stop complaining about things they don't like? Good luck with that in the era of social media. I get that you want everyone to unify in peace and make Halo great again but not in this thread. If you want more positive vibes, there are fans that cosplay, make fanart, machinimas, etc., you don't have to hang out in the toxic spaces.

I disagree with some of the points you made, but you're alright. And it's not like Halo 3 is going anywhere. Even if the servers died tomorrow I'd still find a way to play Halo online. And there's tons of mods out and in development so plenty to look forward to. People like to complain but most of us do enjoy Halo still. Some people here still play Infinite despite hating 343. I know I do. So it's not all doom and gloom despite how it looks sometimes. Hell, I just played Halo 4 (albeit modded <Mythic Overhaul>, but still, Halo 4) yesterday and I wasn't completely turned off from it. I'll probably play some more later today or tomorrow.

Hiding obviously.
People have memed for years about Halo 5 going through these massive script changes but the earlier teaser for it depicted Chief, concealing his identity to avoid detection, and tracking down a guardian. This is all pretty consistent with the final game. The major changes were he didn't care as much about hiding from the UNSC and he had his team with him. But the plot more or less stayed the same.

It's crazy how we already had the live action Halo 3 Believe trailers to show how it could be done. 343 had the blueprints and the examples to work from. As far as forge goes:

I > 5 > ED > 24 > 4 >/= R > 3

2A's is the best of the pre-H5 style of forge which in theory makes it strike the best balance of giving you the most potential while still not being overly complicated to figure out and learn.
However, 2A is also a pretty stale community so you wouldn't get much out of your projects as far as being able to use them.
