I'm normally one to call out doomers, but we can be realistic that our numbers are less than the huge surge that happened from chapter 3. 4 didn't live up to 3's hype, and any bump we got from it involved a lot of former posters coming back instead of new ones

Yea it's not like I don't enjoy the new characters (most of them at least). With the critters though, they kinda created a fandom of their own with how popular they became. Those people still exist and there's still tons of fanart and animations and fanfics and stuff going on, but it's not nearly as wide reaching anymore yk? I'm personally pretty content with staying at this level of popularity myself, but it's still worth mentioning.

I have a feeling he's going to be kinda like Doctor Sawyer in Chapter 4. He'll be omnipresent and the immediate threat to the player, but you will get your final battle with him before the final boss takes center stage.

That said, I think it's possible that we might not kill Huggy in our final battle with him.

Doubt it. It's probably not going to be anyone special. I doubt they'd pull some out of pocket shit like Elliot Ludwig is Huggy Wuggy. Kissy is implied to be some kid from Playcare who lived in the room you find her in chapter 3. Huggy similarly is probably just some kid.

Given that Huggy Wuggy's obedience is simply just patience, I've been thinking that the reason Huggy hasn't escaped into the outside after the 1992 incident is because he agrees with the Prototype (and Poppy) that the toys can't ever go outside again due to experience, and that he specifically chose the top levels of the factory as his territory to stop any other toys to enforce it. And outsiders from getting too close to the secrets of the factory

Huggy's actions only really make sense if the Prototype sent the player the letter but doesn't want to keep her in the case

Notice how in the end of chapter 4, the only person who thinks Poppy is going back to her box is Poppy herself. The Prototype placed here there, but admits that it didn't work in getting her to see his side. He has something else in mind, something that she would never want to leave.
So why doesn't the Prototype go and grab her himself? Maybe he can't. Like maybe his strength is overestimated. Maybe he's a paper tiger who uses the show of force because he can't use actual force.
His kills are an unsuspecting scientist he got the jump on, Catnap (a willing victim), and the Playcare citizens due to using explosives. He attacked Kissy and yet didn't kill her.

This game is too long for it's own good. Like half the plot occures in the first 12 minutes, you meet the MC, get your gadget, meet Huggy, send Huggy to the lower levels, then free Poppy. Sweet. But then for the next 3 chapters you're spinning wheels. It's the same thing, Poppy goes away, meet someone you never heard of before, kill them, move down. Besides the addition of new allies like Kissy and Ollie the only plot developments are the MC's backstory and connection to Huggy sort of getting revealed in 3's nightmares and 4's ending altering the status quo somewhat and getting us on the Prototype's doorstep. Even the before mentioned points are misses as far as progression goes, Kissy and Ollie do one thing each for the entire game and thats in 4's ending, when we end up knowing both for hours before that point. Meanwhile the characters that get the most scene time don't do anything. Mommy, CatNap and Doey have no impact on the wider narrative, Sawyer technically does but he still feels contained and secluded from the real story between Poppy and the Prototype. Meanwhile the gameplay consists of walking from point A to B and occationally doing the kind of hacking minigames you try to avoid in other titles, with a chase thrown in once per chapter. And when you aren't doing that you're just waiting around for a tape or cutscene to finish, it's all so boring, I don't understand how people like this. If they just cut all the parts inbetween 1 and 5, maybe thrown in some connective tissue, it wouldn't be that bad, but this game is like 10 hours at present. That's AAA length, but without any pretty visuals, interesting plots, or even just decent character designs to keep you invested the whole way through. The only thing it has going for it is that main villain, he seems cool but is wasted trying build up the mystery of what he looks like, they give it too much importance when he can get by on his deeds and motives alone.

i checked out of this game since my shitass computer was physically too weak to run chapter 4 probably, i know it was too weak to run chapter 3 at least and i didn't feel like watching a youtube playthrough of it, but i finally got a new computer and just finished chapter 4.
outside of art and everyone apparently getting the hots for the playsbury doughman, is there anything i've missed from this general/fanbase since the chapter dropped?

Nearly unanimously considered a step down from chapter 3. Debatably better/worse than chapter 2. Yarnaby's the termimator and was cute but underused. Nightmare critters are cared about by a select few and disliked by the rest. Doey is hot as you mentioned. The doctor was forgettable (biggest miss imo). #justiceforpianosaurus. Cautiously optimistic for chapter 3. And most importantly, we're still getting critter fanart, songs, and animations.
