Finished my replay of vanilla Morrowind. 10/10. Game was easier than I remembered; going in knowing exactly how the mechanics work means you can powerlevel past everything else in the game really fast even without abusing alchemy.

Bloodmoon was more of a slog than I remembered; I didn't recall having to wade through fifty Riekling Raisers every time I wanted to cross the island.

predators (in the animal kingdom sense). They're a separate species of "demon" from incubi. Hell isn't a thing, and "demon" is just the collective name for any creature that was created rather than arising naturally, or a dragon. It's a bit of a wastebasket group.
Regular succubi are infertile.
Matrons are hyperfertile.
In nature their social dynamic is a hive structure, with daughters and sisters of the matron caring for new babies.
Matrons are only fertile with humans.
They have a couple of organs unique to them in place of a womb.
They experience a normal human growth cycle and don't get their powers until they're 20 years old.

They just sorta integrated into society. There's succubus brothels and everything.

I went back and started playing Oblivion. Now I'm in the Shivering Isles, and level 30, and it feels so much more comfortable to play than Skyrim. It feels "smoother" because of my higher Speed, being able to swing, block, and cast spells without fiddling with keybinds, and making my own spells - and damage that scales (weakness to magic, elements, etc too). How do I go back to Skyrim? Are mods required to make it feel "better", especially if I want to be a mage? Playing magic sucks because there's inevitability hitting higher levels (even on lower difficulties) where your damage just.. stops mattering. I'm too lazy to get back into modding Skyrim (even though I'm SURE it's much easier than it was 10 years ago), though, so I'd want an install and forget package to improve the game. Sucks that you'd have to do it, when previous games don't need it as much.

Finished that Green Sleeves quest, it was pretty cool for a ~1hr diversion with a nice story. One area caused CTDs everytime if I walked to a certain spot though.

Vlindrel Hall is the only non-dlc home I've ever really used heavily in a playthrough, with breezehome and honeyside kind of used as temporary houses.

The patcher stopped being updated, but there is a workaround. You have to get the Steam depot files for Skyrim version 1.6.1130, and then you can just use that same patcher to downgrade from there.

When you don't already have the information, it is confusing since there are clearly two different versions of the game with a patch that doesn't line up with what's being described as compatible in mod pages. Specifically telling me to choose between "SE 1.5x" and "AE 1.6x" when I bought SE but am on 1.6x is counterintuitive and makes no sense when I don't know that apparently the line between SE and AE barely exists, and it's just more greedy, retarded Bethesda things.

LE doesn't have access to modern engine fixes, 64 bit, its scripting libraries are greatly out of date, it doesn't have the expanded esl range or any at all for that matter, it doesn't have a BEES equivalent, it's hardly comparable

Yuriana had always been buggy. Save and load times would be too long when I enslaved too many wenches. Lightened my load order and the problem is fixed. Then I gave in to temptation and downloaded more mods and now I got like 10 fps near Yuriana and followers from the other mod. The other mod is more suspect since I had stable experience with Yuriana before but most likely they're both bloated.

I think the fundamental problem with this topic here is that one of the most vocal anons doesn't understand some of the terms being used. Ulfric hates elves and kills them on sight. He is not working for them directly. His rebellion serves their purposes, so they secretly aid him, such as by saving his life at Markarth and saving his life at Helgen. Ulfric sees religious persecution so he goes into chimp out mode and charismatically rallies people around him to resist the oppression. He misses the big picture and he either misses or doesn't care that he's helping the thalmor in the big picture. It's not unrealistic writing or bad writing to write a character who just doesn't care about the big picture, you see it in real life all the time. He only cares about Skyrim, and he assumes he can hold out against the thalmor because half the world away. I don't believe in objectively good or objectively bad writing. But, to me, if a leader of a large movement is unable to deduct that killing Imperials and losing Nords doesn't benefit the Thalmor, then that's bad writing because having a character be intellectually challenged isn't interesting, unless it's comedy, which TES isn't a comedy.

I must respectfully disagree. Writing an intellectually challenged character is completely fine in my opinion. It's part of the tragedy of the game. Ulfric has a legitimate point about religious freedom and you want to side with him, but you also know that his rebellion is bad for humanity and is actively helping the thalmor. It's literally a battle of the heart vs the mind. For all the faults of the writing in Skyrim, the civil war has adeptly created a simple battle of heart vs mind. Ulfirc is the heart, the charismatic leader who rallies people against oppression but is doing bad things for the big picture, while Tullius is the mind, the smart and worldly general who is trying to muster forces for the big picture against the thalmor and is willing to make temporary concessions for his religion while he bides time. At it's most fundamental level, the conflict is heart vs mind. And that's kino.

I think it's also important to point out that it might not just be pure stupidity on Ulfrics part. It might be hubris as well. He might understand that he's hurting humanity in the big picture, he just doesn't care about the big picture because his only concern is SKyrim, who is half the world away from the thalmor so he thinks he can hold out. This standpoint is folly as well, since no one province can stand against them, they either stand united or fall divided, but it's one possible factor. Not so much total misunderstanding of the situation, and more just an assumption regarding his chances or a callous attitude towards non-Skyrim provinces.

Just kill them, it's mostly females. I've tried all the brothel mods, only the Naked Dragon had attractive NPCs. The other ones are hit and miss depending on what skin you use.
A low quality skin like Diamond Skin can make any NPC look decent since it hides their flaws, but a high quality skin like BnP will expose their flaws.
There's HighPoly NPC overhauls for almost all the brothel mods but they're hit and miss.

Not him but BnP adds lots of fake details. That's exactly what you should hate in a skin.
Diamond adds fake lip gloss; BnP adds wrinkles, creases, blemishes, roughness, moles, etc.

Like it's only ever acceptable if you're building your character around it, but that just means that your character will look exactly the same as the other million BnP waifus out there, much like how every Diamond waifu looks the same with the lip gloss. But BnP is ten times worse. A lot of what BnP does can be done equally as effective with makeup or custom modifications to normal maps.

Also the simple fact is that BnP tends to be unattractive, especially on higher versions than 1.7.

3 years ago, I thought that performance was the biggest problem I had with modded Skyrim. I don't think it's compatible with JK, but there's a bunch of patch options in the fomod so perhaps, I swapped from JK to spaghetti's town/cities for less fps drops
Also City Trees can modify farms too by adding extra crops and walls, I know that Pelagia farm gives me fps loss when I activate it in the fomod

It feels bad even in first person. Lots of oddities even with vanilla animations. And using a custom character isn't as cool if I can't stare at their ass all day in third person.

Skyrim's combat just isn't as robust as other games with or without mods thanks to things that you just can't change about the game.

Nobody plays the Koikatsu SP mode.
Everyone just uses the studio to pose the characters, so it has infinitely more animations and poses than what can be offered in Skyrim. And since the studio is far more robust than Skyrim with SAM, it's better for gooning/screenarchery.

Didn’t care for Dawnguard at all. Boring locals, shit story, new mechanics were bleh. Probably my least favourite TES expansion ever.
Dragonborn was better, but still felt like a missed opportunity. Loved the setting and atmosphere. Story kind of sucked, which is sadly to be expected.
Hearthfire felt like Beth tossing a bone to console tards who at the time didn’t have access to mods. Extremely lazy and disappointing over all.

I'm not seeing anything I recognize as incompatible. I do recall SoS having some issues before (something about needing to delete a certain file) but that was ages ago so it might not be applicable. You are making sure to run Nemesis/Pandora for your new animations, right? Although I don't think that would cause a CTD.
As for the vortex comment; nta but MO2 does a virtual file system which is typically easier to manage since nothing gets actually overwritten or dumped into the data folder.

I'm not sure how Vortex handles them since I don't use it but stuff like bodyslide, LOOT, and Nemesis/Pandora are programs that have to be ran in order to do anything. Just installing them does nothing.

Conflict resolution is REALLY fucking retarded in Vortex, is basically a list of "before or after y", imagine you install a mod that overwrites 18 mods and you have to go through each one of them.
In MO2 you just drag that one mod to whenever you see fit.
Just in general MO2 is better as a Bethesda mod manager, it sucks for everything else, Vortex is "better" as a generalist mod manager.
Also Vortex doesn't let you manually edit the load order, gotta use LOOT rules bullshit.
Oh and you can't easily preview DDS or NIFs in Vortex, you have to open a third party application to see the files, in MO2 you just double click on the file and it'll display how it looks like.

also anons don't use it in great numbers, so many will have no clue how to resolve issues native to vortex only
it's the same reason why modpacks and wabbajacks are made fun of here.

Do you mean do you have to sort it yourself? Yeah, though if you're too smoothbrained for that you can just run LOOT.
Do you mean will it recognize mods IN your Vortex? No, you'll need to move them over, I don't know if Vortex has backups you can look at to match your old load order

Oblivion remake character ideas

Male Colovian nightblade: HOK, from an old Anvilian nobility that traces its ancestry to Bendu Olo. Familial history of madness has limited his family’s social opportunities. Charming and amoral. Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood.

Female Breton mage/alchemist: sheltered child of privilege. Living with relatives in Imperial City to avoid fallout from political intrigue her father was involved in back in Highrock. Supplements or allowance by crafting potions. Possible love interest for Colovian? Mages’ guild.

Female Nord Barbian: Young, illiterate sell-sword. Formerly part of a mercenary band massacred after a failed attempt on the life of the Priestess of Lorkhan/shadow ruler of Whiterun (real character, see pocket guide 3rd). Fled Skyrim. Has a bit of an Electra complex, might end up fucking Mordryn. Possible ancestor of LDB? Fighters’ guild.

Male Altmer archaeologist: Briliant but scatterbrained, frequently runs afoul of monsters and bandits in ruins. Will end up with his bodyguard. Goblin wars, miscellaneous quests.

Female Orc berserker: Former legionnaire. Currently employed as a bodyguard for Altmer archaeologist. Views him as kind of pathetic, doesn’t understand her protective instincts towards him.
