Is it worth buying a good hitbox?
I feel like I fuck up too much on keyboard
But I use ASD+Space for movement and the numpad for attacks, is there a hitbox where the hands are far apart like a piano?

I don't think so, you should get used to having attacks close to your movement keys, it helps being able to tap jump with either thumb

I used to do QWE+Space and NumPad keys and now I'm slowly learning UIOJKL instead

I mean if they're doing it nonstop you'll be able to get their timing and put some fear in them with a couple jumpin combos. You can also try and close the gap so their fireball hits too son and interrupt the DR attempt.

A mechanical keyboard and a hitbox are the exact same thing the only difference is the cosmetic layout but even of you get a 75% or a 60% keyboard there's more than enough space to find a comfortable layout for street fighter and the only thing that could get annoying for you to walk around with at locals would be a 100% size keyboard

for me personally i can just play with default binds or a slight variation of it in most games on leverless
whereas on keyboard i would have to completly change my binds everytime i play a new game, often times even downloading 3rd party software or editing config files to make my keybinds even possible in games. and lots more issues.
it's much less hassle but mechanically you don't really gain anything imo

The input buffer is so massive that if you press a different strength button after the first one for a cancel it will take the second button first, IE if you QCF LP then try to buffer a drive rush with the Parry shortcut for when it comes out it will change the button for the QCF to MP instead.

hes broken because departure is game rules warping stupid, his jMK is mega horizontal and leads to custom-combo tier routing, some normals like 5HP literally do not have lower hurtboxes and give full jive crunch counter confirms for free, his projectiles are all braindead and send you full screen instantly or can be used in the corner for degenerate high/low mixups, he has a command throw, he has an air throw, he has one of the best reversals in the game that you have to play around which makes your oki much more predictable and linear, his drive rush is good, his sweep is near unpunishable at certain spaces by over half the cast, he has big fat thick veiny sweaty old man finance dick,

nta, but probably because, like myself, they got burned spending $150+ on a different leverless from some boutique shop (snackbox micro for me) and then went on to learn that they could get a significantly better product for ~60 bucks (I think the smaller models are in the 30-40 dollar range) + $35 for a PS5 adapter. They've got a bunch of different models that vary in size, layout, and material now, so I'd highly recommend at least looking over their catalog (I think they even teased a model with customizable button modules, but I haven't really kept up after I got mine set up). Even with whatever is going on with tariffs, I don't know of any other cheatboxes that can beat them in terms of bang for your buck right now.

I don't like this argument because it's overly simplified. Chun does lack a (true) throw loop, but that doesn't mean that parry wouldn't be too strong if throw loops were removed without further adjustments.
Perfect parry is just fucking annoying anyway, nerfing it is a necessity and nerfing both throw loops and perfect parry would be a boon and makes the game much less random

I got a Haute42 and I didn't like it.The buttons are slightly less sensitive than sanwa buttons, which often made me miss disagonals when doing inputs too quickly.
If you've never used a controller with sanwa buttons it might not be an issue, but I was coming from a hitbox brand leverless and I could not get used to it. The haute being so cheap and easily customizable is really, really nice, but the buttons were the dealbreaker for me.
There's also a minor issue where it FEELS really flimsy and makes creaky noises when using it for the first few times, which makes it feel like it's about to fucking snap in half, but it's just a feeling thing, the build quality is fine and the creaking eventually goes away.

I recommend taking a look at Punk Workshop's stuff, they're similar to the haute and snackbox in size and I've had no complaints with mine.

Like I said, I think in terms of bang for your buck, there's no question the haute42 comes out on top. Even buying off of Amazon, you'd be saving 50 bucks with a T16 (which is what I own) + booter5 (haute's adapter dongle) compared to the snackbox. I'd also say that the haute's home/select/etc buttons are much more comfortable, and that the firmware is much easier to use and more customizable (although I haven't messed with my snackbox's in like 18 months). The OLED display is also a nice feature for actually providing feedback on what modes the controller is in and have a built-in button check (and it's just cool to see your inputs and put custom images on there). Everything aside from that is pretty subjective I'd say, but I will say I also personally preferred the T16's scale and buttons to the snackbox's.

There might be some higher end leverlesses out there that feel better for one reason or another, but I would rate the haute above the snackbox on pretty much every conceivable level. Hautes are basically the perfect entry-level cheatbox, but, even if you have cash to burn on a more premium product, I'd still say to check out there catalog. Another advantage they have over the more boutique options out there is that you can buy one, hit some buttons to see how they feel, and then have a relatively pain-free return process through amazon if you don't like it.

I completely forgot to touch on ps5 adapters other than the price, but haute cheatboxes actually have a separate usb port to plug your adapter into, so you don't have to run a sketchy daisychain from the console to your cable to the adapter to the controller. If you look up the haute booter5, you'll notice it actually looks like a dongle for a wireless mouse/keyboard that is physically unable to have a cable plugged into it. afaik, other adapters work fine in the passthrough slot, but the booter5 is low profile and I haven't had any issues with mine.

Button feel is subjective and I'm by no means a connoisseur, but that other anon was comparing them to sanwa arcade buttons, not to whatever switches the snackbox uses. What allows the super thin cheatboxes to be so thin is that they use keyboard switches instead of traditional buttons you'd see in a classic arcade stick. If a cheatbox (eg a hitbox) wants to use actual buttons, it'll trade off by being thicker. I was solely comparing the snackbox and the haute42, because those are the only cheatboxes I have personal experience with. I haven't personally done it on either of my controllers, but keyboard switches are generally pretty easy to hotswap if you want to change how they feel, but, like I said, I'm no connoisseur. Things like the size finish of the buttons and whether the faces are convex or concave can also make a difference.

Because the point of modern is to skip all that. Modern players struggled with playing fighting games and its only human to think of ways to solve a problem. Modern is like technology in general, it removes difficulty and makes your life easier, so they don't see anything wrong with it. In a game, though, we are judged by the rules and wanting to circumvent the rules is widely seen as immoral.

If there was a footrace and some fat fuck didn't want to run, he has two options: quit the race, or change the rules so cars are allowed. Lets say he succeeded and now you can bring a car to a footrace, he'll be there telling you that its within the rules, but deep down he knows what he just did. Its worse than losing, its so far beyond losing that its pathetic. People will drop out of the race, or switch to a car, or stubbornly try to run against the cars because they want to preserve the culture of what footraces mean. All while drivers are yelling at them that they're faster.

Modern players see the cammy and think "she needs to pick modern already and end her suffering"

You got people with NASA level tabs that let them analyze everything about this simplistic game but will shit their pants if they have to block a fireball in SF4.

Record and block options are all you need in a training mode, anything else is just accomodating shitters that are bad for a game. There is literally no situation in SF6 you can't solve just by looking at a match, you don't need to even enter training mode for any reason in this game.

SF6 players will jump out of the bushes to tell you that you could have punished that move because its *checks notes* minus TWENTY SEVEN like you didn't know that. Maybe the cammy froze up, maybe he was looking for something else. SF6 really made people think they figured out fighting games because it made punishing with max damage so easy, it used to be difficult to do optimal punishes so people didn't get on players asses as much, but now you have people psychoanalyzing matches and overlaying frame data on top of each hit and saying what they should have done in each moment because SF6 has no personality or style and all you can do is the preapproved capcom response for every mechanic.
