By laziness I meant more that for full papershit they probably have to do a lot more work to model “accurately” so it’s probably easier for them to just drag and drop something already in a different tree. Plus it removes an argument for more papershit, which to them represents less actual work to be done. At least that’s how I see it.

Where do you even put something that's basically an early destroyer in armament with acceptable AAA but also an entire 2x15inch battleship turret all dumped onto the displacement of a light cruiser? the (battle)cruisers it can cripple will probably dunk on it badly, but destroyers might simply evaporate from one good HE impact under the new system especially while conversely machinegunning it to death with rolling fire with little problem. Also slow enough for coastals to make a mockery of it with a torpedo spread. 4.7?

I’d say possibly closer to 5.3 since they’re tightening big guns dispersion across the board with the update. Maybe a bit lower if it’s only one turret though. They’ve said they’re trying to make the new breach system less retarded and datamines appear to say they’re massively reducing HE hull damage outside 5km so maybe it won’t be as bad when it launches

Sometimes I wonder what goes on in the minds of Gaijin's staff.
Why even bother adding any ships until Scharnhorst is nerfed? She can 1v3 the highest tier battleships and come out on top, she can drive into an enemy team and take half an hour to kill.
There's zero point to using any ship but her, she can kill anything ingame, while not being killable with the exception of multiple long-lance torpedos or a fucking 5000kg bomb hitting her magazines.

But whatever happened on their backend to make 3kg filler HE shells black out compartments inside a minute needed a change even if they stuck to the current mechanic. I think HK said something about hull hp being looked at again too so hopefully it won’t just be the light AP spam that’s meta for as long as we are stuck with it. All they have to do is make Citadels actually matter and the game should work properly. The issue is that you can punch 100 holes in a Scharnhorst or other battleship and unless you hit a magazine it won't die. It's so retarded.
Kirishima got knocked the fuck out by half a dozen 16 inch shells ripping through her, yet she didn't blow up, she sank.

I think it wouldn’t be the worst thing if there were more forms of unrepairable damage. Scharnhorst wouldn’t be nearly as oppressive if the 3rd time you completely knock out its turret it was just broken for the rest of the spawn. It already happens to ships with easily hit shell rooms, and while definitely crippling I don’t think it would be unfair if it happened to all ships.

I don't care about modules being repairable indefinitely, its flooding that is the deciding factor. Ships sank in real life, they didn't run out of crew, and only rarely did they blow up.
Yet ingame deaths from flooding only really occurs from torpedo's.

At least for battleships flooding took a pretty long time and sinking didn’t happen all that often if they weren’t hit with a torpedo. Flooding should be more of a factor but the relative lack of consequence for major module damage and the ease with which major internal fires are extinguished needs to be addressed I think. IRL Bismarck and Scharnhorst were able to be executed the way they were because their proportionately poorly protected turrets were knocked out early in the engagement. Kirishima went down solely to flooding from gunfire but that’s something of an exception with it being a very lightly built battleship against probably the second most damaging gun of the war era. Nevada for example still had to be finished off by torpedo after being nuked twice and shot up by an Iowa.

Flooding could be surprisingly quick because the damage channel of a battleship sized shell is huge, busting open heaps of compartments with man-sized holes.
Sinking was the greatest killer of warships, not crew loss or explosions.
Scharnhorst and Bismark, for all their 'immune citadel' design, sank like little bitches because they couldn't remain afloat with only their citadel at all.

Scharnhorst and Bismarck had the coup de grace delivered by torpedo after absorbing very large numbers of shells with much smaller lists than you’d expect. Major combatants sinking solely to gunfire without magazine detonation was pretty rare, off the top of my head Kirishima may have been the only battleship that happened to the entire war.

They were shot full of holes with multiple turrets knocked out but not sinking. Bismarck had a list but not to such a degree it would’ve gone down quickly without torpedo hits. Scharnhorst was still watertight and moving at speed when the first successful torpedo attack occurred and that attack was successful largely because most of its guns had been knocked out.

It’s likely a large part of the reason Kirishima went down so suddenly had to do with the intensity of the internal fires burning throughout the ship weakening the structure further combined with poor counter flooding. Extreme heat from said fires is likely to have detonated all main battery’s shells in at least the forward stowage after sinking, or at least that’s Lundgren’s opinion on it.

in that case if you're not in a position to multipath you can try swinging around in a huge barrel roll while dumping chaff in clumps with the axis of your rotation about the direction the missile is coming towards you and hope it misses, otherwise don't be in that position to begin with

Weak spots in battleship protection schemes had an almost supernatural ability to attract unlucky hits. PoW went down because of a similar hit, Pennsylvania almost did as well right before the war ended. West Virginia was holding up better than you’d expect at Pearl Harbor until a second torpedo entered the hole made by an earlier hit completely ruining the TDS. Scharnhorst was doomed first by a lucky hit on the radar, then a very long range shot through the deck into a boiler. North Carolina had a torpedo hit abreast the forward magazines and didn’t explode only because of the flooding the hit caused. Jean Bart would exploded at Casablanca due to a hit on a secondary magazine, but it thankfully wasn’t full due to the ship being half complete. Very interesting to read about the battles but I certainly don’t envy the men on those ships.

It's all prepwork my dude. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you find yourself with your pants down head to head without time to execute a defense plan then you just die.

Shoot first to hopefully kill them before they can kill you. Crank to buy more time and hopefully land your blow first. Dive to multipath height while guiding your missile. If all else fails abort your attack and notch.

The shoot first thing doesn't work when enemy fox-3s are inbound. Here it's all about shooting to give the enemy something to think about and then defend. Depending on distance and terrain, you'll want to either notch, multipath, go cold, or terrain mask.

No matter what happens you should be planning out potential defensive options before enemy missiles are even in the air.

If you're feeling SPICY I suppose you can try to use your missiles to shoot down their missiles. In such a situation it can help to fly in a straight line so that the enemy's missile path is straight and easy to intercept.

If that's a sparrow and I'm on something maneuverable like Mirage, Gripen or other eurocanards, or an F-15/F-16 I just corkscrew out of it and go into my own headon strike.

If that's something else I usually notch + multipath if I am at ground level. Usually simple terrain masking like doing a dip then turning away at last second is enough to defeat most SARH, but you have to be at certain altitude to execute that type of tricks really well.

When it is starting merge and I am in a eurocanard at high alt, then I do some launches, then I execute somehing like F-pole to dodge first barrage of amraams, it is really easy if I'm on something like Rafale. First turn about 50 degrees to the side, wait a bit until missiles get close and do the lead, then chaff and sharply turn into missiles when hear them approaching, adding additinal wiggle when they intersect your course. For the amraams this usually results in a complete miss, sometimes you don't even need chaff as you set up perfect notch this way and missiles cannot track you while they go inertial.

It is indeed fun to gun down people with F-14, it has good nose authority with wings at 25-50% and good gun placement to do some nice deflection shots and whatnot. You can also do some loaded roll with high aoa to slow down from supersonic, then unfold wings and go into rate fight which you are likely to win. But it is sad most of the times it is not needed because dogfights and especially rate fights are off meta in the battles at its BR. It should lose phoenixes and be somewhere at 12.0 and 12.3 for F-14B respectively. Its current BRs are thanks to phantom paypiggy baserunners in the red team on one hand and Fucker-9000 slingers on the other hand.

That would see them designating 4 spots per tank for automatic decal placement, for like 1500 tanks. Rather, I'd like to see something as simple and easy to implement as decal presets - you use your 4 decal slots to create some sort of composite decal, then save their placement and scale relative to each other so you can apply it as you would a singular decal.

Yep, the T-10M has a ridiculously long reload and pretty mediocre armor considering the stuff you'll be fighting agains. The ATGM vehicles are a pure meme.
I especially recommend the BMP-2 (good for obliterating poorly armored German vehicles at that BR range) and the Obj. 685, if you play them like the rats they are you'll do real wel in them. The T-55s are pretty solid as well
Picrel is my 8.7 Soviet lineup, it gets downtiered pretty often and is a joy to play
I suppose other anons might say otherwise, but we all have different playstyles at the end of the day

"plenty of curves" has nothing to do with radar cross section. the stealthiest planes are all curvy. did you look at a picture of the f-117 and think stealthy aircraft need to have jagged geometry? it's actually a downside for stealth. the plane looks that way because radar simulation software in that era could only operate on a tiny amount of polygons even with the best supercomputers available.

realistically the stealthiest plane of ww2 is probably komet or ho-229

The Komet is not designed for stealth at all. The fuel tank (t-stoff tank) on the Me 163 is a giant aluminum can, every radio wave sent its way is going to be sent back without many problems. Compare it to the B-2 Spirit, where fuel tanks are integrated into the span of the wings and so they are much narrower. That's just one component ofc.

It's all speculation but Germany in World War 2 knew a lot about radar (and electronic warfare in general). They were the first ones to develop phased arrays, RWRs, radio navigation, ECCM, radar rangefinding, and UHF radar. It's dumb to think they wouldn't be able to figure out stealth technology.

Every big gun ship has way tighter dispersion than it used to and the ballistics bug that was making guns better at range has been fixed, which will disproportionately hurt Scharnhorst. Nu-hullbreak is still a thing but now it takes three sections and per the newest datamines it looks like they nerfed the damage hull sections take from shells significantly

Abrams is actually a pretty good tank when you hull down to protect those awful oversized turret rings. I've also noticed that the majority of enemy players will miss the turret rings regardless in cqb even though it is the easiest shot imaginable. Like T72/80s and Leo 2s are "harder" shots than this frontally.

It’s similar but different. As I understand it there wouldn’t be any ammo stowage in the sponson on the American version. The turret would also be different, having a late production high bustle and a thicker casting eliminating the traverse cutout weakspot. Plus of course the .50cal, apcr, and probably track armor which would have it sit around 4.3

it's get the most kills AND get at least 12 kills (6 in RB), which means you have to get lucky with positioning + everyone on your team being unable to kill anyone to get it in RB
in AB it's easy to get past the threshold with farming respawns so you pretty much just have to worry about being #1, unless it's a ground airfields map and your team can't hold any of them at least

They're heavy due to the armament and weight, their armor is mediocre and while it can catch badly placed shots you shouldn't rely on it. 5.7/6.0 is an extremely popular BR for Germany which means you'll get a lot of uptiers which won't help the feeling of the gun not being great and the armor not catching a single shot.

Thermals make it far easier to spot and identify targets. In the Rafale/F-15/16 I can fire off my AGMs in less than half the time I take in the Su-34, unless I know where a lot of enemies are bunched up. And that doesn't really happen all that often.

They had their flaws, but every single iteration of the game since they added squad spawns onto any squad member has been bing bing wahoo zoomer slop pushed to let players overdose on dopamine by seeing explosions no more than five seconds after spawning. You have to eradicate every man of the squad in moments just to force them to spawn somewhere that isn't immediately back on the frontline again.

2142 had it right where spawning directly on the frontline required protecting the squad leader or a spawn beacon. Those restrictions kept squad spawning reigned in.
