Yeah it's pretty great. depends on what you're looking to get out of it though.
You play as V the character and partially influence their decisions. You are not a man-made character and the story has a very deliberate path and pace.
If you're looking for a very open-ended RPG then you might get something like that, but the game is more a character driven story with words you put in their mouth and a experience of someone choosing how to live their life worrying they might die in the next few days and making drastic decisions based on that.
DLC is just that but more polished and a really interesting story with some different ways to play it out.

It was left vague on purpose for the player to fill in, Corpo Vs parents likely disowned/cut contact with V for their own safety after V got purged, Nomad Vs family joined snake nation, Streetkid Vs family could be in Atlanta.
As for friends Corpo V is the best off in that regard having a preestablished backstory with Jackie, Nomad V intentionally leaves everybody in his old clan, and streetkid V is too much of a gonk to even notice Jackie despite frequenting his mothers bar.

the changes with 2.0 adjusted the damage output of V and added Skull enemies that usually cant be killed in 1 shot on very hard even if you are built for stealth and crits. Its not like the enemies are a threat to V, especially latter in the game when you have armor, damage mitigation, adrenaline, and healing item buffs. So keeping the difficult on Very Hard just ensures that with some builds, combat will feel terrible.

There's a ton of different combat mods that makes things harder without turning enemies into bullet sponges if you want to go that route. A really good one to start with is https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1712 that lets you tweak incoming and outgoing damage. Hime V's mod list in the OP has links to more.

The mods are used mostly to create a more realistic playing field (they die fast, you die fast) but you can use damage scaling to adjust the values to your personal liking if you prefer slowing things down. You can pick whatever else you like to go along with it.

Oh, just a little.. Energy and hydration decay slightly faster since I noticed the same thing that V doesn't get tired even with it set to 1:1. Nerve loss in combat is also higher so there's a bit of a time crunch with big encounters. Adds to the i m m e r s h u n. I also add weight to ammo and I think I changed ammo prices slightly.

Over the course of the games development they restarted and changed things multiple times (River saving V from the Junkyard, Takemura being a female Arasaka assassin hunting V down, completely different plots, etc.,).
It isn't really known and probably never will be outside of the people who worked on the game themselves, but the speculation is something along the lines of CDPR getting Keanu Reeves to play Silverhand and the game was rewritten to be about him due to costs or wanting to appease Reeves/CDPR investors.
However Paweł Sasko refutes this saying that they had already been writing the game with Johnny Silverhand in mind, before they even got Keanu. Pondsmith also claims that the relic and JS were meant to be an important part of the game since early development.
The game had a tumultuous development marred by constant rewrites and restarting of development, it's very likely to me at least that while the game stripped down from it's "promises", Johnny Silverhand/Keanu Reeves were not the main causes.

You could pretty much recreate my V with vanilla assets and the following mods:
-Doll Lines Cyberware
-Bunny teeth
-Cheri Nowlin eyelashes
-Mox neck tat (custom job, thanks again Red)
-Mox body tattoo
-Bing Bing Boh Boh tramp stamp (also custom job)
Leaving out some of the general mods that everyone uses like a proper vanilla body mod and so. All of the other things like hair, make-up, and clothes are just the the cherries on top and I change those on the fly anyway

lots of buildings in the surrounding area probably got either demolished in the blast, or damaged severely
that's a lot of eddies going to reconstruction
lets say a company paid for a building post-Night City holocaust
but then for whatever reason they leave
that's a lot of real estate just left there
plus its a mad dog sort of town so only the strongest would survive
that also leaves a lot of open space

This isn't much in the way of good gameplay (since I'm struggling) but I demonstrates how bad things can get with Dark Future. Keep an eye on the nerve meter, breathing, the pop-up message. TipsyV can't deal with this shit anymore. Some context:

Tremors, becoming heavier as nerve drops. Increased stamina recovery time and you can't sleep it off until you relax in some other way (watch BD's, grab a shower and/or substance abuse). I was dealing with all this when I was riding home:

As you can see, the withdrawal (self-condemnation) makes everything even worse and makes it harder to regain nerve without using drugs again. All these debuffs become bigger and bigger the more your addiction progresses. I'm in pretty deep, there's one more stage after where I'm at.
Lastly, you might think taking drugs will solve the problem but if you are unlucky you might lose nerve yet again. It's a gamble if you are going to have a nice trip (nerve +) or a bad one (nerve -). You can brute force most problems away with detox consumables and sleep for 10+ days but where's the fun in that. Although I'm going to detox at some point and then try to keep it level with a mild addiction. I'm just spiraling out of control to find out how bad things can get. It's very entertaining.

Yeah, I was stressing out on the highway too. If NCPD got involved anymore it was over with my car beat up as it was. When parts start flying of your ride, you know things aren't going preem. Waiting the cops out near the end and hearing those sirens come down was a tense moment too. Immersion status: BD-tier immersion
Now it's time to get this so I can negate that shaking for a very brief moment.

cyberpunk by a country mile. biggest issue with starfeild's weapons was most felt bad to use, sloppy recoil, not enough ammo, or weak. a load of guns and almost none i enjoyed using. found myself settling for the least worst weapons. it felt like some of their designers didnt play a shooter in the last 20 years, and didnt know which characteristics people understand from other games.
With cyberpunk all weapons are useful, and amongst power weapons, they feel familiar.
Lexington is a g18
Unity is a 1911
Liberty/Nue bit of a deagle
Umbra an mw2 ACR
Masemune is a halo br
Nowaki a burst fire famas
Saratoga is an ump/mp5
Pulsar is an uzi/74u
SOR-22 is an m14
the tech and smart weapons break away from the mold but stay useful.
tech having a familiar often burst primary fire, with more powerful charged attacks that reward a bit of timing and lining up enemies
smart weapons rewarding your ability to weave bullets around the environment and mix with your quickhacks

Ran into a bug I've had on one previous playthrough which prevents Muamar's initial car jacking quest from spawning in Dogtown. I tried everything I could think of to fix it back then to no luck. If anyone has any ideas or knows the console commands to trigger quests would be appreciated.

might be a way to find the flag that starts the quest.
if you have two saves close together from the same character, if the save editor still works you can export the Quest Facts and find the difference. then go back to your latest save and open it in a save editor and reset that quest fact's value to 0 or delete it, if it can be deleted. to maybe force the game to respawn the mission. you might also need to edit that save's json file to remove the same questfact/flag. make copies just in case.

I actually tried something like that before. I d/l'd this editor https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/718 but it won't load saves. I don't think it's working with 2.21. I had a theory the first time it happened that the bug occurs literally at the start of a new game because reloading old saves even prior to starting Dogtown doesn't fix it.

I do sometimes. It can be relaxing. Still need to check out the mods that allow you walk around the station/cart, like https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/15212
But there's not enough reason to use the metro overall. Dark future tries with it's limited vehicle spawns but it's not really enough of an incentive since the car system is still wonky at best. The metro just ends up as a bit of flavor but not all that functional.

i think the conversation's triggers were changed and perhaps forgotten about over time. in the past it was easier to trigger it by staying in the doorway or returning to the window. Judy was always a problem.

Mirrors in NC have always been retarded, not just on cars but also actual mirrors. I could go on about how having "digital" powered mirrors that only work when you turn them on is retarded but it's obvious they only did all of this for technical reasons. Double means more versatily. You can clear more horizontal distance with a double jump, while a charge jump has more verticality. If you throw in (air)dash and the perk that adds more air control it can become quite quake-like (see >>517631652 ) if you come to grips with the rythm. Doublejumps flows better into all that over chargejump since you can use those to change direction mid-air.
Not arguing that one is better than the other but I think you need to try more forward movement instead of trying to emulate the charge jump to get more out of it.

And the bullet damage wasn't "healed" since most of that mending work is done later by Vik and a little by Takemura. The chip just rebooted a dying V the same way a defibrillator might. Makes sense. The entire intro kinda falls flat but it really sucks we never get to see the extent of the damage. The only thing shown are the glitches and "hallucinations", everything else is just told. They really dropped the ball when Vik explained the main plot you'll be dealing with. "muh 2 weeks". A lot of the music in the game is hit or miss, some of it (especially Samurai and most of the rock/punk) sounds like budget early 2010's shit. I'm sure it's because trying to convince better/more famous artists to make entirely new songs just for this specific game was hard, both contractually and money wise. It's why almost all of the rap in the game has the same producer and it's also why tracks like "I really wanna stay at your house" are listed as being independent creations from the band members rather than actually being from the respective bands.

TLDR: A lot of the music in the game sounds dated/bad bc of contracts and money.

Yeah by default most vanilla cars should have a dye system if you hold down.. I think it's "Y" when inside the car? That lets you customize the coat. You can also scan some NPC cars for unique colour coats that you can't get using the normal system.

What sort of troglodyte do you take me for? An NVMe is the only reason I could even stand laptopfaggotry in this day and age. I still run external HDDs but I doubt anyone boots off those these days.

Sure, but that was an intentional sacrifice. The cyberdeck is just being used for control hacks during combat like cyberware malfunction, reboot optics, etc., so perk points were instead mostly saved for things like mobility and the assault rifle tree.
