To the poster in the last thread: you DID NOT make this.

After my post-nut clarity, I realized that there wasn't much high quality The First Descendant Porn as compared to Marvel Rivals Porn, and it got me thinking. Not only does sex appeal not carry a game, but it also alters the incentive structure of the developers. The First Descendant is a mid third-person shooter that could have been more than it is right now, and while the developers have put effort into changing it for their audience, one constant they have is the reliance on sexy women and sexy skins in order to keep the game supported. It's starting to become a problem because sex appeal can be used as a crutch in game development and a substitute for quality improvement. Why take a big risk changing mechanics when you can present bobs and vagene and make a fair amount of dough? The result is that while the characters are sexy, they don't inspire eros from the player, as that is a combination of knowing the character and their personality, having the scene set in a context that matters, and being in a game with an enthusiastic fanbase to keep the idea of the characters alive.

More dynamic story telling, not just a goddamn voice playback while you blast through the same dungeon you been running for the past month. More variety in farming modes, not endless VV and one boss on rotation. Erosion is actually a step in the right direction, generally speaking, since it came with Min/maxing equipment, scaling difficulty and leaderboard. It just needs more things like that.

Also people talk about stupid shit like balance, bitch please? Have you played with end game players in any big online game? They meme through 50% of the dungeon/area while the new player is still reloading their first clip. It happens all the time.

Stopped reading here, the only reason you're saying this is because you wasted dozens of catalysts and hundreds of hours optimizing for the last three stages. More animations, characters should have different looking walk animations and jump animations, idle poses, more battle quotes, etc. The foundations are there but the personalities aren't apparent at all.
Redo some of the older legendaries guns to be more unique than just bullet shooters. I will say they've been getting better at this with the upcoming flamethrower and BP gun that shoots sawblades so it's a step in the right direction.
Less color swaps, most of the fodder enemies are boring and the same function and VIBs are just a 3rd recolor of existing bosses. It feels extra lazy especially since they do have unique modeled bosses like Hanged Man and Deathstalker

Biggest problems with the game IMO:

Something like outdoor Colossi fights in first trailers or some kind of secret mission like the sleeper sniper rifle from Destiny 2 (I don't remember what it's called) would fill the open world location with some shit to do. The faggot devs from Destiny 2 reused the same planes for like 10+ years but people liked because there were some shit to do and find.

Devs should have stopped after releasing Hailey and started to expand of story of each descendant, add more quests for each one of them and add a lot more interactions between descendants, maybe even some synergies for specific pairs of descendants like what they had in mind for Valby + Bunny.
If they don't stop spamming new descendants, game will be like warframe where there are 100 soulless characters that NOBODY knows or cares about.

Biggest fucking mistake is not releasing guilds AT LEAST as a separate chat channel. AT LEAST. People like to come into these games for social interactions and all we have here is some matchmade coop runs on colossi or dungeons where all you get is a "gg" at the end.
If the game had clans, people would log in simply to talk with their online buds and that alone would keep the game alive.
If the game had trading, it would actually be both beneficial and detrimental for the game. Beneficial because if people would be able to trade, idk, for example a fully cored restored relic with perfect rolls, that alone would be something shittubers create a lot of hype about. And detrimental because RMT faggots would flood the game.

The only things that brings back players are huge updates that add new features. Warframe had their 2.0s and reworks and updates with new gameplay like Railjack, Archwing, Open World etc. Destiny had big story expansions and raids.

Our updates are very small in comparison and EP2 won't change that but Season 3 might with the expanded team and more time. Now let's hope they don't fuck it up.

What are you talking about...? This applies to everyone with a helmet base model. Viessa has a long neck because she was given a turtleneck and they made her neck oddly long for that reason. There's also the fact that the skeleton all the characters do animations with has a long neck for the reason above, because the models originally all had long necks. It's why newer girls like Luna, despite not having a helmet, will now have a long neck too. All the girls are the same height for this reason. Anyone with modding experience and capable of modding this game would be able to. Well, they'd need to know a bit of model work. They could shorten the skeleton's neck, but then you'd have weird clipping from things that are in the neck area, so they'd need to edit the models a bit. It's completely within possibility.

The problem is that so many skins and cosmetics take the long neck into account. You've have hair clipping into the shoulders and stuff if you shortened it.

I reinstalled the game, and man, it feels dead. You only really notice it after coming back from a long break. We used to have more people in Albion, more activity in the open world, and shorter queues.
I played most of the content co-op to gauge the state of the community, and I often found myself paired with newbies or mid-rank players who are still leveling their characters. I queued up for Fortress Defense, and never before have I been the only Freyna power-tripping back-to-back like that.
To keep it short, most of the people still playing this game are relatively new players who still have things to unlock or **relevant** characters build. We need an endgame so badly.
This isn’t a doompost. I know that veteran players will be back tomorrow or the day after, and I’m glad we still have new players sticking through the grind. However, it’s clear that at this point, we veterans make up the vast majority of the playerbase, and we desperately need something to keep us engaged.
This game is precious and deserve to live.

Meanwhile, a leaderboard for who can do one specific stage of void erosion against one specific faction and defeat one specific boss is not informative, doubly so because there are no clues as to how they achieved the time other than the character used, triply so because success is 90% gun choice gun rolls and gun mods none of which are displayed, and quadruply so when the top scorer is consistently chinaname#**** with half the time of the next bloke.

She was better than literally everyone else for everything but bossing and the very very late stages of void erosion (a new game mode that punishes skill descendants and rewards gun use)

Nothing has really changed balance-wise since you left, lepic is still a good bosser. He's roughly on par with freyna and hailey in clear time for most bosses, but is a bit rng and not as easy to use. He's still a solid all around descendant.
Supports still suck ass, don't bother.
It takes a few hours to fully build a descendant so you shouldn't really worry that much about

They introduced 400% difficulty dungeons. It takes 5-6 400%s to go from 1-40 which can be cleared in like 3-5 minutes each. If you see 400% magisters lab, pop a 5 hour xp boost and you can probably fully catalyze 2 descendants in that time.

I finally got a gold roll attribute status chance x core on my 8 cata'd Fallen Hope
In combination with a gold weapon status roll and a venom essence set and a venom injector to help crutch out the poisoning enemies when the 40% proc flubs, it actually gets to proc chain explosions every 3 or 4 packs of enemies or so

Oh btw, turns out Fallen Hope is broken and the poison explosions are glitched sometimes, instead of getting 40k ticks sometimes I get 1 ticks, like literally 1 DPS ticks. Maybe 1/4 times it just doesn't do damage? So, uh, fuck me for trying to make this piece of shit gun work I guess.

I partied up with a Chinese guy and got pulled into the Asian servers. Saw lots of names I did not recognize as well as most of them being in moon runes. We were running 400% dungeons and never had to wait past 10 seconds. This was about a week or two ago so maybe the game is more alive in certain regions. I know its dead as shit where I live. I see the same names too and the 400% can be up to a minute wait and thats with a daily reset. I don't even bother with Colossi stuff anymore, literally a two minute wait and it just puts me in by myself.

You might get slapped, but try it when you are ready.
Then you can do the real endgame of 400%s. And the void vessel quest will unlock the other end game of void erosion and void abyss (and yes void is an overused term in the game it annoys me too). And soon it'll unlock even MORE story, very soon.

Mostly it's just confusing I don't hate the game but it should spell out what you're meant to be doing. If collecting is the goal then heavily emphasize a bingo chart of my unlock progress and put goals on the chart so when I collect all of the base characters or all of a military group there's some kind of reward or even a permanent discount for their lore skins like it seems dumb to assume I know what the devs want me to be doing.

Normally I would want to make builds but the mods descriptions might as well be illegible like there are 3 mods that all say +crit but actually only this one is going to be worth using. Like what.
