You avoid Knights Errant like the plague, they are useless trash garbage. You skip them.

Your first army is mass archers, one or two supporting Lords with no army, and one or two paladins.
If you want something that holds the line and you don't want to use Lords or Heroes you build Grail Pilgrims - they have the leadership of a longbeard and a shield to soak missiles.

After that you make the painful transition to full cavalry. You do this by building ANY CAVALRY EXCEPT KNIGHTS ERRANT.
And you need almost a full stack of cavalry for it to act as a proper cavalry army, otherwise the most damage will be dealt by archers and magic.

So when you go from the Peasant Archer army to the Cavalry army it's a long and painful transition, and if the army is only halfway changed it works badly.

Mounted Yeomen Archers are ok if you want one or two units of them, in both the Peasant Archer army and your cavalry army.

My suggestion is to make one extra Bretonnian Lord at turn 1 and one at turn 2 and maybe even one at turn 3, so you move around with two or three armies together all the time.

This allows you to unlock the Lord on Hippogryph as early as possible and you have 3 or 4 of them before turn 20, which is amazing.
Also, the "Extra Lord" is your best heavy cavalry/heavy infantry early on.
A life damsel in every army to heal the heroes and Lords is excellent.

Also, for FUCK'S SAKE, it is spelled BRETONNIA

Constant war - I don't remember what I did with the eco but I think I either kept conquering and built nothing until I had the knights or I just built the non-peasant eco buildings everywhere, and went over the limit.

I think it's a good army - the Pilgrims are good anvil infantry, the archers are good, the cavalry is good, the magic is good, and even the trebuchets aren't terrible.

Having many Lords and heroes is expensive early on but it becomes economically excellent as time moves on:
A level 20 Lord is the same upkeep as a level 1 Lord and without paying anything extra he's become a monster. Same goes for heroes and Paladins.

If you manage to start like this and you get to turn 15 you already feel like your army is stronger than what it should be and you're paying little for the strength you have.
When you get the big armored boys on the Hippogryphs that can almost win a battle alone, and it's turn 18, and you're not paying much more than you were paying at turn 8, you will see the economic advantage of having many heroes and Lords.

...Also, I always go immediately for the Lord's abilities that reduce upkeep, and the extra Lords do not get units in their army until they have that, so when turn 20 comes you have three or four Lords that all pay less upkeep, and until turn 40 when you're forced to make another Lord you will never pay full upkeep again.

A lot of these are just flavor and entirely cosmetic yes but a lot of them even then are just fixing broken assets like the wh1 texture fix, and make the game so much nicer to look at. Why doesn’t CA just incorporate most of them into the main game? Or take care in their own game and not have saved jpg’s of saved jpg’s for game 1 factions

Tamurkhan is too easy and Ku'Gath's campaign is too linear, you always fight the same enemies.
Epidemius is the hardest campaign Nurgle has to offer and he's a fun strong melee Lord who needs to attack the enemy and has no artillery, so you have to come up with ideas and tricks to reach the enemy lines before they cover you with missiles

I haven't played with the latest DLC, but I may start an Alberic campaign myself soon.
I think at the beginning you do have to rely on archers a lot. Vs Skulltaker maybe rushing a Damsel of Beasts (Flock of Doom) or Heavens with Cassandora could be useful.

Although I think Alberic can get to Tier 3 rather quickly and make Knights of the Realm which are great (he starts with a level 2 settlement with extra population, which is very rare).

My most fun campaigns are always migrations, so think about it if you can't handle an enemy.

When playing N'Kari I just leave Ulthuan because I can't fucking deal with Lothern Sea Guard and Archer+Spearman spam with frail cavalry armies and a frail Large Lord.

Ultimately you’re not hyper reliant on them. Gun outriders are also one of the best units for campaign for most enemies you’ll encounter for Franz and Volkmar. You can use crossbows, but I wouldn’t as they simply aren’t a very strong unit. If you want an archer army, use Huntsmen, they’re so substantially better than crossbows. Archers are pure shit. Huntsmen are only really particularly good with Markus though. If you don’t want to bother with infantry as the empire you don’t have to. Just get heavy cavalry and Outriders.

If a bunch of archers gets two volleys on a unit of dogs, then they can even eat the charge and win.
Dogs may be annoying, but they're really easy to kill.

Anyone actually follow multiplayer? It really feels like domination mode could be a legit esport but there's no good players who will actually learn it. I've looked at all the videos I could find and with maybe one exception I'm not finding anyone at a "gosu" level of play. I'd imagine actual pro gamers could raise the level of play, but it's not worth it to anyone serious.

Upkeep is massive for knights if the lord who has them doesn't have their respective vows completed
Bretonnia more than any other faction wants to pump out as many lords as possible in the first 20 turns so they can get levels and prepare for knights

He buffs missile infantry, so you can just go full dakka and spam an entire stack of ranged infantry with Engineers buffing them further, and just have a triple line of regular handgunners in the front, ironsides in the center, and long rifles in the rear. This has been in the game since forever. If you're not at war with anyone the game will find someone for you to be at war with. Lost a Shogun 2 Legendary campaign by settling for peace with a fucker that would not leave my trade routes alone and was doing thousands in economic damage with shitty suicide single ships.

The turn after I finally got peace, and wasn't at war with anyone, my main trade partner spontaneously declared war on me, then my other 3 trade partners followed because they had alliances with the guy who I ALSO had an alliance with, who broke it to declare war on me. Anti player bias is pretty ridiculous.

Since CA seems to be using a lot of End Times units lately it is heavily expanding dark elves potential since they basically have more End Times units then any other race. I listed only some of their End Times units rather then the full list because the other stuff I thought would be lame units. Wood Elves, Empire, and Vampire Counts have lots of End Times units too.

They can also use Merwyrms just like 10+ other races can although that unit is more of a Vampire Coast or Dogs of War unit. Merwyrms are basically the one unit that can be used by almost every single race.

These are all the races that CA has officially said they consider "done" content wise as in you will never see more dlcs for them and your best hope is a rework patch with no new content.
