I guess it does feel more 'realistic' than the game ended up looking over all
Not a complaint though because it was a common fun bonus for games to show off renders that went beyond what the game could manage in real time

The banished is probably the example of why he wanted to replace the elites with brutes. The entire elite led covenant army couldn’t defeat one small brute pirate party and he saw how Atriox buck broke everyone he faced and turned them against the covenant. Kinda similar to how girls go for bad boys.

"Loadouts" should not only return for custom games, they should also open up a lot more options per loadout. Each loadout should have separate health options. Damage options and even spawn in vehicle options

The campaign missions are serviceable and feel like a decent attempt at Halo. But the open world really bogs it down. It's best to rush to the next objective and play the real missions instead of doing the stupid open world ubisoft tasks. And even then, the missions are still missing those big vehicular battles we expect from a Halo campaign. The have the indoor missions down, combat and pacing is pretty good. But the outdoor sections are subpar.

Completely unremarkable. I've played 5 campaign literally once and I remember more of that than Infinite. Infinite's campaign all blurs into one big mush in my memory as opposed to "the one on the glass planet", "the ones on the elite homeworld", ect.

Same reason they didn't completely condemn any species that put up resistance to them (which was most of them) when encountered by the Covenant? Belief in having the majority vote and crushing anyone else in due course.
Banished had the edge of having insider knowledge and tons of facilities guarded by less equipped/experienced troops to raid. It's similar to rebels using insider knowledge to not just get insta-killed by the UNSC.
Although the thought of the UNSC making AI combat bots instead of enhancing humans due to worrying they could become rebel allies is an interesting one.

It's weird.
When I was playing Infinite's campaign my thought process was "alright this story is pretty fucking terrible but from a gameplay standpoint this has to be the 343's best campaign"
But since then the experience has really soured on me. I went back ti try it out again and everything felt like a fucking chore.
I still think it plays better than 5 but I honestly might like 4 better.

I only played it in full once, but I went back to replay the first couple hours and I really appreciated the open-ended mission structure. It was fun to take on an objective in several different ways.

"Map Default" was different depending on the map.
Being able to choose specific weapons to start with is a relatively new thing, even for MCC.
The easy thing to do would be to write you off as a newfag but I don't actually think it' a problem as long as you don't mind the history lesson.
Halo needs more players not less. We can gatekeep when finding matches isn't hard anymore.

You can't rebuild the Covenant. It was done through coercion and enslavement. You can't possibly recreate the same
circumstances again. It's lazy writing.

At this point, 343i should focus on UNSC vs insurgent organizations, be they rebels, pirates or organized crime syndicate. That would mean human enemies. Hell, you could even have games set on worlds with Forerunner structure and lots of hostile Sentinels. Also, the Flood is still out there, in containment somewhere.

The plasma pistol's charge sucks, but the regular shot is fine. The only problem is the gun's rarity. NHE gave its charge shot some splash damage so you can jump with it. That's a good change.

I never really saw the Covenant as gone (not that I'd mind a fun new faction)
So many ships did not make it to Earth after fleeing from High Charity plus ones that were deployed too far out to join up in time
343 even had some plot about Jul's son leading some faction who got Onyx tech but who knows if anything will go anywhere in a GOOD way
343 is defined by disappointing execution of almost any idea at this point

I'm sure even Bungie's vision for events after Halo 3 had them returning.
However, I don't believe Marcus ever specified just how similar 343's plot was to the early drafts Bungie had prepared. Not too surprising though. Covenant had way too big of a territory for Truth to call everyone "home" on a whim and the very existence of the Arbiter rank shows they're not beyond singling individuals out.
The difference between 343 and the full might of Bungie is the former would be focused on "muh humanity" and the latter would be focused on kicking ass in outer space, when it comes to a Chief-centric game. 343 was basically defined by taking the lamest option for most things. I wouldn't bet on Halo Studios being different unless Phil is finally going to get his act together.

It was a nice variety option and citrus/lemon/lime kind of flavor that differed from Brisk and Sprite. Sweeter, less 'sting' to it.

It's just that if you can't handle Chief's simple character right, I have no reason to believe you can do better with someone more "complex". I'd say how Del Rio, Palmer and Locke were used shows that well enough.
Lasky and Thorne were kinda cool and in some ways a more civilian version of Chief, but take their character and give them a full campaign and I'm sure Halo Studios would be unable to resist making them feel vulnerable and defeatist at some point.

After seeing Forward Unto Dawn, you'd think you'd be running cool missions in exotic places with confident leaders like Lasky and Palmer filling in for the likes of Keyes and Johnson. Even without FUD it was just a weird thing to do in your studio's first Halo game to making infighting with humans that much a focus of your story + leaving the Forerunner planet that soon (after emphasizing size and scale in your promo videos no less).

The first Halo uses its art to convey the atmosphere of its setting and the tonal shifts over course of the game the game. Halo 3 doesn't use its graphics to sell a particular atmosphere, it uses its graphics to sell action figures. It looks fine but there a dozens of better games artistically.

3 is less atmospheric (not in a lacking way) but he definitely overstepped there. As often comes up: they really focused on making a game that would stay pleasing to the eye, likely due to knowing it'd be the last time they pushed the timeline forward.

I don't know why your posting here but I think Zelensky needs to admit that this war is a loss and sue for peace. I can always find matches in 3 and Reach. There are a surprising amount of Halo 4 matches online as well, but not as much the other two. Good luck finding Halo CE, 2 Classic, or 2 Anniversary. You'll eventually find them but it's gonna be a wait.

You still don't understand the fundamental issue with changing movement. Map design and the weapon sandbox have to change with it. Thrust is just more Stop|Start jerky gameplay, just to a lesser degree than Sprint. Yeah, in gameplay it isn't very valuable beyond scouting a room because the gameplay is focused around non-stop run and gun with some cover usage for regenerating shields, but what you think is absolute isn't as strict as you think; ODST would've thematically benefited from something like a lean feature in the theoretical case that the team wasn't just reskinned Spartans for gameplay.

Honestly after Reach, I lost a lot of respect and mystique for Spartans that I had before then. And by 4, they might as well be ordinary soldiers with some speed/strength boosts. Reach really made them look sluggish, slow, and clumsy-looking. They should have sped up the cutscene mocap animations instead of making them look like they can barely move in their armor. They also seemed to be less disciplined and more quick to anger than I had imagined.

Mocapping Spartans was the biggest mistake. They always make them look like they're wearing a heavy suit of armor but that armor is supposed to basically lift itself. And then they made an even bigger mistake in the TV show and the shitty 343 mini-series by making them look like cosplayers wearing plastic costumes.

They finally improved in Reach and after, but I didn't like the direction they took Spartans with the mocap making them look like lumbering tanks. They're tanks, but they shouldn't lumber around like it's too heavy. They shouldn't have to 'lift' anything, that's the MJOLNIR's job.

Yeah, the world wasn't ready for a $60 multiplayer-only game. If it waited a few years and released $20 digitally, it probably would have done really well. You couldn't even play it on PC without finding a physical disc.

Exclusives still existed back then, and they definitely didn't want people still on XP playing GFWL titles.
But think of some XBLA games that came out just a few years later and still did relatively well, like Monday Night Combat.
