I prefer the atlas tree but I was able to get maps with all kinds of shit in it sooner because of the idols. I don't understand why they think maps with no mechanics is a good thing in POE2, they should really have a similar system where you automatically get a chance to get mechanics you spec into or a few favorites to spawn in ever single map so all of them are worth doing. Even the whole limiting the number of maps a tablet will effect seems to be against that whole concept too which is stupid. I don't get why you have to spend hours setting up your atlas and still not get even close to the same level of content as a basic map in POE1.

I've pretty much purged my inventory of any items lower than 84, gear, jewellery, clusters etc.

Atlas tree wasn't necessary before they added the new masters, scarabs and then began to pile on 1 extra bit of bloat every single league on top of that. Before you'd have the league content on every map, sometimes a master and sometimes an old league mechanic depending on currency usage. Having so many league mechanics spawn on the map that the game struggles to fit them all in just highlights that the game has way too much shit in it right now and the atlas tree is just hiding that

It's not about hiding bloat (because it lets you add everything at once if you want to), it's about player control over the content they want to run and how hard they want it.
Every RPG game (and every game in general) could benefit from a system like the Atlas.

idols are shit, but you can set up filter to fish cheap idols from trade (le mao if you can get any replies) and then it actually feels like having mid-high atlas progression off the get go, as long as you unlock at least half the missing slots. spent 3 hours today and about 2 divs and now i have max scarabs/+tier maps/ +3 extra bosses dropping 6% elder/guardian/whatever special maps each, good sustain, no bullshit mechanics

GGG has listened to Reddit for ten years and the game that Path of Exile is now is basically only playable for one week. There is literally nothing else to do after that. Characters get way too strong way too fast and all of the most difficult content becomes a breeze.

poe 1 players made it so the the only way they could ever enjoy poe is when there is a decade-long drip feed of content. They don't actually enjoy the game anymore.

Solaris/Lunaris Temples have multiple floors and each floor is way bigger than the average 2 zone, and those are just two I can name off the top of my head. Every zone in 1, especially in Sarn/Oriath, feels more like Ogham Manor and Black Chambers than anything else and those are easily the most obnoxious parts of 2's acts.
The biggest advantage I can give to 1 in terms of speed is that you can blink over any height differences but that's only a pain in 2 in Jiquani's Sanctum/Vaal Factory.
I dunno man, 2's acts are straightforward and short enough that I can do the map layouts in my head, like even with the Cemetery where you have the nested zones you can still easily kill Draven and Asinia both before the main zone resets and from there you can just checkpoint-bounce back to Lachlann. Fields are a straight shot southwest (the lute is on the way), Village is straight west to Executioner, Ramparts are always a counterclockwise 3/4 circle, etc etc. The only part of 2's acts I dread is Matlan because it's blatantly unfinished dogshit but otherwise it's a pretty smooth and pleasant ride.

There are skills that literally serve no purpose other than to be used as fodder for other skills. You can't make them work at all. and the game tells you nothing about this so you end up leveling a skill that does piss damage all because 40 levels later on you can use flameblast from it.

The game is very poorly thought out, and it kind of sucks because POE1 was shit for a long fucking time, and only recently has it been kind of not terrible. lets call it "good" in comparison to other diablo likes. How do you make something better than the thing you already made? well be different. but how? well shittier of course, you're treading into waters unknown trying to be different for the sake of being different rather than actually putting thought into the entire decision making process for a player second to second minute to minute. POE2 gets really tired and dull WAY faster than POE1 does.

I don't want to combo my skills at 200 hours. I'm over it. make ONE skill do A thing that I need, and make ONE other skill do something else, and repeat that. But no, everything is one long chain of the same skills in the same repeated fashion.

idk what you mean by div, but harvest is really simple. you just pick the crops that have the highlighted text, more monsters from map mods will also contribute to how many spawn in the harvest, you use said juice you get from harvest to craft with the harvest work bench in your hideout that usually provides another form of chaos spamming but with a guaranteed modifier type like mods with the life tag or mods with the physical tag (and also a bunch of other specific shit but you can just read what they do in the bench itself they are very self explanatory) crop rotation (the node on the atlas passive tree) just makes it so you take all the crops you don't want first and they feed into the one you do want at a chance so it will yield more juice when you finally get to it.

div cards are a way to target farm specific items, they drop from wherever, some maps drop specific div cards so you can just run those over and over until you have a full set and then you turn it into lily for the item. betrayal has a npc called gravicious, if you get him to max rank and put him in transportation he will drop a full stack of any divination card in the transportation safe house. it's very useful for getting a wide variety of items and harder to get items. but you should look up a guide on betrayal cause that mechanic is a little daunting and can't really be explained well over text.

As a regular player, I, along with many others, find the use of these automated scripts extremely frustrating and detrimental to the game's environment. It severely impacts the enjoyment of those who play the game fairly and legitimately. For POE2 to remain popular and successful in the long term, it is essential for the official team to take a strong stance against such practices. If the situation is managed effectively, we, the players, would be more than willing to support the game by purchasing cosmetic items and other content, thereby contributing to the game's financial sustainability.

I sincerely hope that you will consider increasing the manpower dedicated to monitoring and managing this issue. Your efforts in maintaining a fair and balanced game environment will not go unnoticed and will be greatly appreciated by the community.

map sustain is only a problem if youre doing something that doesnt involve killing a lot of monsters. something like rushing betrayal encounters and then leaving the map. either you add some map sustain mods to your idol setup (like you would with the atlas) or you just do something else to target farm maps. a single map rolled t17 with some shit in it drops like 25-50 maps.
