Why do people want this? I assume you mean Drive reversal, all it would do is give all characters a good defensive option, even on characters that aren't designed to have one i.e Zangief etc etc. Just like how Drive rush giving everyone a neutral skip wasn't a good idea

Good because defence in this game fucking blows. If drive reversal was fast enough that it was a guarantee in more situations like
against blocked cr.mk rush then the game would be way less crazy

I was pretty hype for WT as someone who genuinely likes character creation in games and who's into SF lore more than anyone with a brain should, but it was such a letdown. I wish it didn't look so bad, and I wish the gameplay itself wasn't so mind-numbingly boring, and I also wish that the story at least involved the characters people give a fuck about in some way. After playing 40 hours of World Tour, I still felt like I had more fun playing the terrible ass SFV and MvCI story modes, at least those were funny enough to be memorable.

Funny part is that Strive's online is and especially was still absolute ass by comparison and I'm positive they largely squandered the huge launch surge they got from how terrible it was. I know people that outright said they thought about booting it up until they remembered the three minute wait just to fight the stations and get booted back to the main menu where they had to spend another three minutes connecting. They just got praise because having the actual matches be mostly great was a massive step up for the genre.

I barely see any modern players, it's obviously not an inherent competitive advantage or anything like that, but I still dislike it. Every streamer/competitor talks shit about modern and modern players, everyone seems annoyed by it for different reasons. It's not fun to play modern and it's not fun to play against modern players. The game was clearly not designed or balanced around it. Playing against modern players feels like going through ranked match filler arc.

The lighting is bad, but the textures themselves are terrible. It does, but then there's also artstyle. I don't want SF to look like RE, it should look like Street Fighter. Grotesque body proportions with realistic models fits the horror genre better. SF's tone is totally different, it wouldn't look right if it was just trying to copy RE anyways. There's some truth to the horror engine meme.

If you look at games like Street Fighter Alpha, Alpha 2, and Alpha 3, they sold very well. And as you already know, they had familiar characters like Zangief, Blanka, and E. Honda that the fans really wanted to see. Just having those legendary Street Fighter 2 characters was enough for those games to sell very well. But because Street Fighter 3 had started out as an entirely different game, they had a totally new cast of characters, which nobody liked. The problem was that the characters had very uninspired designs, and I would say they were quite strange in comparison. If you think about the fact that we moved on to the CPS-3 arcade hardware for this game, I think people wanted to see Vega, E. Honda, etc. created on that new hardware with the technology it offered.
[RE engine is new technology, why wouldn’t you bring in the WW to show em off]

Perfect Parry makes oki and strike offence overly risky. So to counter this, throw loops need to exist so tapping parry on every wake up isn't the objectively correct option because the risk of a PC throw with the same timing also exists.

Perfect parry makes every single interaction in this game that isn't straight up punishing an EX DP a coinflip. Perfect parry being so strong is the justification for throw loops existing. Perfect parry being a valid antiair should have never been a thing, it's the same thing people hated about SFV AA jab but exacerbated.

And to rework Perfect Parry they need to rework Drive Parry, because you can just hold Parry so even if they change their oki timing or you fuck up the input timing you're still not required to block high/low. Every shitty interaction with the drive system exists to balance out some other shitty interaction because they set out specifically to make a game with Turd Strike hype beast moments, extra special focus attacks, and a run mechanic.

It all looks very exciting until you've played it for 5 hours, but by that point they have your money. I don't see them going back on what is very intentional design, but they'll probably add a 4th Drive button to "counter" drive rush that just ends up reinforcing parry or DI in some obnoxious way. Something like Drive Throw, which has an extended hit box on sliming opponents for a punish counter, but is autoteched against parrys and loses to DI. Eventually every normal in the game is replaced with some generic alternative to 5-way RPS.

This reminds of that Joe Rogan video with Mel Gibson. At some point Mel Gibson was talking about watching foreign movies not dubbed but subbed and how it was supposed to be some mind blowing shit. But for me it was always obvious to watch foreign stuff in their original language.
It's kind of crazy how a lot of americans are just stuck with english and don't want to ever to listen to anything else, even though the quality of the voices suffer from it.

I don't understand what Guile is suppose to do against mai? Her od fan just shuts the whole game down for free until you're forced to wait around in neutral so you can react counter od fan with a od a boom, but you don't even win anything by doing that, you just stop her from getting in for free of a single od fan to run her brainless offense.

But at the same time while you're sitting there like a statue in mud in the neutral to focus on od booming a od fan on reaction, she can drive rush in, dash up low or poke, or jump/dive bomb in to catch you off guard and the moment you switch your attention to deal with her approaches you're vulnerable to her throwing out a od fan and then she's instantly in for free to apply a easy mode mix up.

And her lows and st.hk are just so good at pressuring Guile, her buttons move her back just slightly to so when you counter poke you'll whiff and get smacked by st.hk and if you try to walk back out of pressure, Guile slow ass walk speed will you just get clipped by sweep or cr.mk drive rush. So even if I block OD fan mixup, i'm still in a fucked position. I have to take risk like OD flash kick but keep in mind the moment she gets drive lead i'm going to be fucked over by OD fan.

Even if i'm waiting to jump the moment I see her char animation twitch because i'm predicting a a od fan, she recovers fast enough to AA. There is no counter play to her od fan, all you can do is burn your own bar to clash with it while leaving yourself vulnerable to all her other options in neutral. I don't see how this isn't a 9-1 mu for Guile??? Am I expected to PP everything??? Is that the MU??? I'm sorry but Mai OD fan has to get nerfed it's insanely mindless.
