I'll add to this that I do think Solas and Mythal's relationship was probably rocky before the betrayal. Based mostly on Elgar'nan's about him being unmanageable by Mythal's reckoning. Meaning that Mythal was overly reliant and confident on Solas' devotion. He probably pushed back more than she would've liked him to, making him like the good son (or a lapdog). Solas was in partial denial about Mythal's actions and intentions and continued to support her knowing she was wrong but was probably internally divided. Until he couldn't anymore. Feeding into her being almost a voice of reason and justice, she probably (erroneously) thought she had more sway amongst the Evanuris than she actually did. Which got her killed in the end when El turned them to his side.

Thats how I feel about Mythal. The little bit of info we have on her personality leans into a kind of person I cannot not react poorly too. So for me there is no level of hotness for forgiveness. The only thing that would change my opinion on her is more lore and story and I doubt we're getting any more of that.

There was an amusing chapter in this fic where Lavellan goes to a summit of all the Dalish clans in the land and Solas is there in disguise with vallaslin painted on. And he paints fake vaseline on Sera and Briala too. This kinda sucks. it's buggy as hell. enemies standing right in front of me I can't charge to. Should I jus start over as a sniper or something? I also get shredded in seconds on veteran difficulty especially when charge is bugging and I can't replenish my shield.

I recently replayed the game with mods and It was so much better. Storm Improvements which fixes running so you can run in any direction while moving the camera was a big one. Mako overhaul that makes the Mako really fast and and powerful so you can jump and fly around planets much easier. One to add Charge from ME2 to the Vanguard class so I can dash around. Spectre gameplay rework, Streamlined weapon loadouts, Power and talent overhaul, there's lots of really good changes that freshened it up a lot. I had a really good time with the game the second time, and I used to previously think the gameplay wasn't very good when I first played the game in 2021

There is a mod to add charge to LE1? Damn didn't know that. My biggest gripe with the gameplay by far the AI, everyone, enemies and squadmates (if you don't micro manage them) run around so erratically it makes my head hurt.

Vanguard is the 'go hard or go home' class, very fun, but beginners may find it frustrating since you'll die a lot. Adept is fun in ME1, absolutely sucks ass in 2 and become okay-ish in 3. Soldier is a Jack of all trades and has no real weaknesses in his kit throughout the whole series.

I mean it really depends on your difficulty, I've only ever played on Insanity where every enemy has some sort of protection, i.e. shields/armor/barrier, which protects them from biotic abilities except for biotic charge. So you'll have to rely on squadmate abilities to remove protections.

tl;dr biotics got nerfed hard in ME2 since they have no effect on enemies with protection (shields, barriers or armour). On lower difficulties this isn't an issue since some enemies have no extra protection but on insanity all of them have some form of it.

Sounds about right, basically ME3 but with higher jumping and dashing around, and much easier than any previous game. Classes aren't as restricted as before, you can dabble into whatever you want, which is an improvement. Driving around in the car could have been fun if there was actually something to explore, but there just isn't.

The statue next to some other stuff for size reference. I'm really impressed by how nice it is. It does indeed look handpainted and made with attention to detail. I think I should just embrace the artist's vision, idk. I can't guarantee I wouldn't make it look worse. In a way I think I get what they were going for because the original artstyle is very flat and I think they wanted to preserve that look while adapting it to a 3d medium. If you look at it from the front his head is extremely narrow and pinched but you need all that for it to overall read like the tarot card from the side. The hooked eyebrow helps you make out his serene expression from a distance.

In DA2 and DAI sure there are hateable characters but people are hating them via engaging with the characters and story that makes you like or dislike them and agree or disagree with their viewpoints and behaviors etc etc

In Veilguard you hate the characters because they're all just boring shit characters in a boring shitty story that you don't give a fuck about either way. You cannot passionately like or dislike any of these companions. They're just fucking there and they're all annoyingly bland and stupid.

I can imagine Veilguard feeling like the worst thing in existence if you're completely new to Dragon Age and starting with Veilguard or if you never romanced Solas in Inquisition. But yeah for solasmancers this was worth playing and feels like a satisfying conclusion to the story.

Ok so in my headcanon, the Devouring Storm (this mystery group was just greedy EA employees) came and wiped off everything from Thedas for good. Except for my Warden who had a found a cure to the Calling and escaped with Leliana (yes he betrayed Morrigan, of course) to an alternate version of Thedas where there was no evil. Solas and my Lavellan escaped to this same dimension, and together they all built a simple life in alt-Lothering. The end.

Somewhere between games the devs moved all of Solas' ass and thighs up into his chest and shoulders. Which is good. Like who the fuck said a mage can't train his body and his mind. He's been in a war for just about all of his physical existence. In all likelihood they just didn't want to create more unique assets or the engine only allows for the ass slider to go so far. But I personally miss the ass.
