Markvart doesn't make up bullshit, and him doing so when he already knows he's dying and has nothing to gain from it doesn't make sense. Again, he's a christian, and one who cares about honor too. He thinks he's about to stand in front of the gates to heaven and they'll know exactly what he has and hasn't done. He's not going to be making up stuff to convince either Henry or himself, he knows what he did. It's also stupid to assume he'd tell you why he picked Sigismund's side only for it to turn out to be a lie he had nothing to gain from.
