The Italian one had the same br for a long time with a super slightly better engine so it was actually useful. Decent energy retention, good guns with sealth belts, etc.
Ouragan is genuinely a good plane too. Spaded it and had a lot of fun before some tier "rebalancing" has it facing the 8.3/.7 black hole.
Barougan for some reason is complete dogshit and Im convinced its some retard code from having open gear bays increasing drag, and the double gear increasing weight.

Someone convince me to continue ignoring Israel as a nation in Warthunder.

How do you actually get good at this game?
I have a solid grasp of all the mechanics (radars, flares, notching, energy management, situational awareness, etc.) but still barely manage to get a good game (3+ kills). What the fuck am I doing wrong? How am I even supposed to get better?

Yeah, Defyn and all his clones are very insightful when they show the 2 good games they had for the day where the enemies don't know where the flare button is or are stalling out in front of them. Truly eye opening. I'd prefer if they streamed so I can see their thought processes match to match instead of just highlights, but the only WT youtubers that stream are somehow even worse than me.
How do I get good so people don't make fun of me when they see my stats?

This is how most "good" players get their stats. If they get a 0-2 kill game they just hop on their 2.0 jap premium, get a 20-1 K/D in a few matches and then go play high tiers again. Rinse and repeat.
Does this sound fun to you? If not then play however you want without worrying about stats. If you get 1 kill you're already above average anyway.

I also would be of that opinion, I feel that them showing their best matches is somewhat less helpful that it would be if they showed a few matches from start to finish in their entirety where they narrate what why are doing and, more importantly, why. So what if they only get an average amount of kills in that match, their thought processes behind their positioning would be far more handy to me.

I'm a big fan of how there is absolutely no consistency when it comes to rank III battle ratings after they did that wackass rank shuffle how long time ago that was again.

Like if you wanted a full lineup of at least 3 tier III vehicles (min 2 light/medium/heavy tanks + any additional vehicle of roughly the same br), you would need to go up to:
USA: 5.0-5.7
Germany: (4.3 TD only, kinda competent actually) 5.3-5.7
russia: 4.7
Britain: 4.3-4.7
Japan: 3.7
china: 4.0
Italy: 3.7
France: (3.7 only 2 tanks) 5.3-5.7
Sweden: (3.7 premium) 4.0
Pisrael: lmao

But so far, most of these planes are easy to counter if you have flown all of them before and if the two parties ever meet in an opposing planes, you could force a stalemate as long as no one makes a mistake.
It's not like a Mig-19 that could beat everything uncontested or meeting an Sk60 in an F7F that out-climb, out-accelerate and out-turns and has a higher topspeed, the only option you have is a headon at this point.

They need to add some sort of helicopter mode where you fight other players and have to destroy ai ground targets. Maybe spawn in a SPAA when you're low on tickets. Maybe with some AI jet fighters to content with. Either way there aren't enough fun things for most players to do with them. I can't understand this company, all they do is create vehicles and copy paste other vehicles to other trees but don't think about gameplay, map design, game design etc at all. They could easily add experimental modes each season and if they suck then just shitcan them, if they're good them bring them back or maybe even add them permanently. Wargayming for all their faults understand gameplay so much better.

8.0 is sorta not worth it, the M60 is completely overshadowed by the AOS .3 up, and the XM800 works just as well at 8.3 as 8.0, plus you get the Bradley and your pick of a bunch of other mediocre tanks.

In ARB, it get sucked to 10.7 hellhole but you can still survive if you are good at sticking with your team, in a downtier you get 2 guaranteed kills.

Pretty shit for ARB, you will get killed before you use your R-73, you are as fast as an A-10 without the nose authority.
I recommend trying Air sim, since you have a free room to use this plane to groundpound for 3 whole hours and you don't have to worry about IR missiles being shot at you for the most part and also in Air sim, even a shitbox could dogfight but you only need to use R-73.
It has access to Vickers and the usually soviet shit, way better than the su-25k in terms of ordnance for ground RB.

Only has CCIP for rockets, nothing guided.
Overall I think the Su-25k is a sweet middle point where you could use it for ARB or GRB

Su-39 is one of my favorites for grb since you have a lot of weapon options and R-73s can somewhat compensate your lack of maneuverability for air combat . Vihkrs are nice for killing helicopters since they are beam riding and dont trigger any warning systems (besides MAW, but very few have that)

Don't bother with that if you are not a dedicated striker.
fly low or mid altitude, take 4 Aim-9Js, 2 sparrows.
Use the radar and IFF to find targets, once you do, close it then kill him, open it again.
Keep doing this and you will get a shit load of kills.
The Aim-7Es are bad but you could use it against clueless F4Cs or tornadoes.
You run from everything and no one could do anything about it, just don't forget look behind for any potential missile shots from the rear.

I was playing it earlier in realistic, I was side by side with an F-5C. I try to lock a J35 in a cloud tailing a friendly to slave the AIM-9P to it for the launch, but the seeker just can't find the plane even with the radar boost. The F-5C, on the other hand, instantly locks him with an AIM-9E and takes him out. That kinda just proved to me how retarded this plane is.

my mobo was that standard cheap realtek chip they all got, i got beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x the other day and now aiyima dac-a2 from ali, only problem is it only supports up to 200 ohm headphones, so in the far future if I wanna get some super high impedance shit would need a new DAC
these headphones are great but the comfort is awful, germs made the clamp force extremely tight even now after 2 weeks of very intense stretching of the steel headband its still really tight, would just get another pair of shp9500 cause of that in the future but I'll stick with the beyer and forcing it to loosen up for now

I can definitely see that it is underwhelming for GRB, but I don't know if I can overcome that by playing it purely as air to air. I have a weak Swedish lineup and I quite enjoy zipping around with the J35A, as awful as it is, in GRB. I blasted a couple of helis with my cannons which was fun.
I think what I'm struggling with is that the Su planes lean so heavily toward the ground pound, if I pick one of those, I'll not be able to swap over to ARB easily when I get fed up in GRB.

The AIM-7Es are shit but they aren't your main armament. AIM-9J is.
The radar is only useful to find targets and IFF.
Also in clouds, even with radar slaving, IR missiles don't lock.
The F-5C probably got a lock once the enemy came out of the clouds.

No, just drop the files in the sound/mod folder and edit your config.blk file to have an "enable_mod:b=yes" line in the "sound" section. And before you ask: yes, you CAN mix and match mods as long as they don't intersect. I currently use the GuP Voice mod (for Air, Ground, Naval AND generic voice lines), Ace Combat Music Mod, the RWR sounds from IWSM and most everything else from RCSM. Sadly, you can't organize them by subfolders for convenience - the game checks for what's in the sound/mod folder ONLY, no subfolders are looked at.

WT officially supports sound mods, and they are hosted on the official gaijin site so there's nothing to worry about
RCSM is best one for general use but I would mix it with IASM if you care about immersive and realistic missile/RWR tones in aircraft (you need to paypiggy)
otherwise RCSM alone is fine

Rewards are very good, The mutiplier is very high in sim.
I used to get 60k RP and 200k SL after 12 or 20 kills after maybe 1hr50mins into the match.
If you have any boosters, you could use it for sim, though I think it expire in the first 30mins of the match.
Also the repair cost is very high unless you're using a premium vehicle.

Su-22 has a good mix of both, you got the speed and acceleration to run around and 6 R-60MKs to throw around with a pretty good load of guided CAS ammunitions, you could even dogfight with the wings swept all the way forward though remember that you could accelerate quickly enough that the wing wouldn't have enough time to sweep back and it will break.
There is the squadron Syrian Su-22 but it lacks countermeasures since it has like 12 or 20 flares.
Germany has a premium Su-22 with more than 200 countermeasures i think.

The idea of getting a dedicated sound card is something that's been on my mind for the better part of a decade, but what's the point of an external device? An internal sound card connects to PCIe directly and completely bypasses the motherboard's sound chip, but wouldn't a DAC, regardless if it's connected by USB or something else, be receiving the already distorted/enshittified signals from the motherboard's chip?
And I'm not sure if that counts but a decade ago when I bought my HyperX Cloud IIs (replaced by Shure SRH440s since), they came with an external USB sound card, but it was ASS, like way worse than just connecting the 3.5 mm jack to my keyboard's hub (which itself is indistinguishable from the 3.5 mm jack on the motherboard).

that is not how it works, DACs don't interact with the motherboard's sound chip at all, windows just interprets the data they send over USB and plays song through that
pci-e sound cards are the outdated thing simply because usb/optical (optical is better than usb a lot but my current mobo doesn't have it, old one that's more budget did lol) work just fine

DACs are useless on headphones that are bellow like idk, 100$, but they are a must for high impedance headphones, they need more power, if you plug in that anons 300 ohm sennheisers directly to mobo they would be whisper quiet, DACs are combos of an amp+ a dac, they provide more power to high impedence headphones, but if u have headphones with a rly high quality sound stage and response rate shit (idk what this means but there's a diff) it also gets improvements with a DAC, like one sound I noticed as I mentioned is cannon shooting sounds in WT, they're so much more punchy since hooking up my headphones to the DAC

the whole point is to do the conversion of analog (3.5mm) to digital (usb or smth else) far away from the mobo, no interference etc and clearer audio/more power, but yeah with smth like cloud II its low impedance you don't need a DAC, they come with a very very trash one that makes no diff with other headphones too

You have an engine that is as good if not better than a mig-17 and you get 2 AIM-9Ds which has a range of 3 miles at high altitude and 2 Shafrir-2 which has a very short range but very maneuverable, all of that and countermeasures....in 9.3

I found the AIYIMA DAC-A2 you mentioned and it's like 30 bucks, so cheap I almost struggle to believe it would do much more than make the headphones louder compared to the on-board Realtek ALC897 on my MB. its pretty good it feels rly solid too, I'm powering it with a usb port on my mobo (with the usb to usb c cable that came with it, its pretty short but if u need a longer one they're everywhere), and using the usb cable that came with it to use PC usb audio

yeah because the way sim matches are set up 10.7-11.7 is quite common and Germany is usually on the Red side so the scariest thing you'll usually see are F-4Es and F-5Es. Technically you can face the Mirage F1 with Magic IIs which is quite scary but luckily nobody flies it

I have a 144hz display and run the game at 260-300 fps normally with the settings cranked up to max, I just hate visual clutter or "good looking" game when it means I might potentially not spot the enemy faster.

tho i come from days of playing APB Reloaded on lowest settings (so all textures were flat) and 1440 stretched

It works perfectly if the target is flying in a perfectly straight line at a constant speed, which is the absolute best you can expect from it anyway; it can't see the future to tell you where to shoot to hit a manuvering targets. Regardless, that's more than enough to give you a solid starting point, from which you overlead/underlead/shoot right/shoot left while taking into account the enemy's maneuver. There's just way less for you to estimate and way less room for error compared to shooting completely blind.

If you look at the overall design of the F-15, it resembles the MiG-25 quite a bit (air intakes form, twin engined, twin tails, wings are similiar in shape and in position).

Nvm, that's pretty funny.
I was going to say when the Harrier is in VTOL it's engine is always in the side-aspect from the enemy's POV, so any irccm missile shoot from 4 or 5 km is gonna hit when you are going 2km/h.

I tried doing this with Mavericks in GRB
They ended up just plowing right into the ground due to the short booster.
