No.514847817 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Imagine you are playing D&D with your friends. Everything is going well, you have fun, etc.
One week however you decide to spice things up: before everyone sits down you privately slip the DM a twenty. "Make it sure I get something in return", you say. He understands the assignment and treats your character favorably

The next week, someone else finds out about this arrangement, and also slips the DM some cash, and the arms race begins. The second player doesn't even understand D&D and is not particularly good, he just wants to "win". The rest of the players are oblivious. They only start to wonder why they are not as lucky as they used to be, but it's beyond their control, and it just feels a little less fun

Scaling this up to thousands of players doesn’t change the dynamic. This ruins the game. It stops being about skill, strategy, or adventure. It’s just about who pays the most. It is subversive

And obviously, paypiggies don't care about this, they will insta(You) this post, Keep Crying TM, since only non-paypiggies get negatively affected by it so you're a loser for complaining anyway, it's like corrupt bureaucrats draining the resources of a country, there's nothing you can really do once they take hold, the sickness just has to run its course, so they'll carry on ruining the game until it's almost unplayable without swiping.
