Do you think we'll get to meet Evan in Part 3? I don't think he'd have met Kyrie yet so we couldn't see them together, but it'd be fun to see him in Midgar at some point.

On one hand I agree but on the other hand I like how faithful they actually were. There's not 100 new areas, instead the areas of the original are slightly expanded, and seamlessly folded together. The areas they have added like on the plate, climbing up to the plate and seeing the debris, all the buildup and expansion of Shinra building. It was done pretty well.

I fucking hate the play. It's VR so it isn't even real for starters. The female lead is one of three different people so it isn't even thematically coherent. And the player choice aspect in the boring minigame isn't even funny.
Aerith writing a song in a matter of hours, winning a contest immediately, and performing the song without ever previously expressing an aptitude for singing or song writing is so stupid.
Even worse because, fuck me, they could have set that up on the first GS visit. Set the scene where she's struggling with lyrics on the first GS visit and it fits slightly better overall. Have her singing a bit as they travel the world, like fucking Yuffie does. Hell, have Aerith and Yuffie bond over making up songs!

I've got the visuals pretty much exactly how I want them with plenty of shadow resolution and draw distance out the wazoo to stop all the pop in. But there's still a stupid ass LOD fade on the character models, they will switch between 4 different LOD's just by zooming the camera in and out. This shit gotta get fixed ASAP

Install Optimized Engine Tweaks ini

The new version of engine tweaks mod actually fixes the LOD problem I was talking about earlier. So now Tifa's hair no longer disappears into 4 different shapes when you zoom the camera in and out.

Very little pop in, only what is basically required by the engine, and only very far away. High LOD on everything until you get very far away from it. Shadows are better, everything is much better. Only thing that is still grainy shite is the hair transparency. It's better the higher your resolution but it only goes so far. Maybe someone can figure out a better TAA mod.

I also seriously recommend the camera mod that fixes the camera distance and lets you have way more options for closer/farther away. Free roaming all zoomed out but still with super high graphics makes it 10x better than PS5.

I do but everyone is in a different part of the game. I'd rather not be spoiled since the there are significant differences from the original FF7. For example I didn't think I'd actually fight the Midgardsormr, so my dumb ass rode through the swamp more than half dead. That was a tough fight. It made it more fun though.

I pirated remake because they wanted 90usd for a game that had been out for over a year on PlayStation, however I did buy rebirth. The pre-launch price seemed more reasonable. I also hope the third install isn't exclusive since no one is buying a PS for a third installment of a game at this point.

SE has already stated they are going to be aggressively multiplatform in the future and will not be doing exclusives.

For sure, I mean you're turning almost everything up to the max. The game on PS5 has so many holes in it in order to run on that console. Running on a high end PC with everything maxed out, it can actually look as impressive as it should.

To be fair, FFXV is pretty much the only FF/SE PC port that they actually put effort into. Almost every single SE game on PC is basically just the console version again. XVI had some features but even then, at high settings it was just the PS5 version again, with locked 30fps cutscenes. Rebirth isn't really any different than that. But just like Rebirth, UE4 still allows for each individual user to strip the features down/buff them up as they see fit. So even though SE doesn't do the work, the options are all still technically there for people to discover and tinker with. Especially considering the way the game runs on old hardware/AMD, it seems there really is only so much that they are willing to "change" and compromise during a port as to not damage the overall artistic vision. Like the way the game runs on Steam Deck, that's not a comparable experience anymore.

Of course mate! I've been tinkering with it ever since the game came out lol. I've already traded my 60fps locked for 40-50 and way better shadows/draw distance. I've also discovered that DLSS looks fantastic in this game, and even 1080p looks great. So if you want a boost, just knock the resolution down from 4k or 1440p a little bit while keeping the Engine tweaks.

Is it me or is FF7 Remake's difficulty all over the place? Sometimes I feel like I must be playing the game wrong, because certain fights (picrel) just absolutely filter me. Leviathan is definitely hard, yes. But there's something you were more than likely missing as well, yes. The game truly rewards players who are capable of balancing it's many mechanics successfully. Leviathan, you have to use Manaward and target his individual parts (head) when he's flying with Barret. It asks you to use specific strategies in order to seize the day.

Meh. It's up to you if you have Fire or Thunder or not. It's not the games fault that you aren't switching up Materia. The moment you see a flying enemy, you should think Wind. The moment you see a Synthetic enemy, you should think Thunder. If you don't have those Materia's equipped when you enter battle, that is on you. I think it gives the game depth. You must employ a large variety of strategies and Materias.

I didn't even watch a any trailers and was just in an intentional vacuum till it was released on PC. I'm not complaining, I just went into the fight over half dead. It was a very fun and challenging fight because of that and the surprise was why I kept myself in the dark. The oh fuck factor is great.

You have to use it like a dodge, not as you get hit.

Synergy abilities are more for filling up two people's bars at once, Tifa has high speed so her rate is just naturally faster than you're gonna get spamming synergies. I'd focus more on getting her chi level to 2 and unleashing an entire combo of basic attacks, that'll get you two bars easy. And remember, using Overpower and then attacking right after will take you straight into the back half of the combo so you can get to the chi 2 finisher faster.

I love Zack and Aerith. Not sure what you mean. Crisis Core is a good game. So is the Reunion update. But it's still technically off topic. Not sure why you are arguing about that.

It's a different game. A game that was made nearly 20 years ago. Different gameplay systems. Different storyline. CC Reunion is the same contents as the original, and so it's discussion is still just as off topic as the PSP is.

If you ask a question about Crisis Core, that's off topic to this thread. If you want to discuss Zack's character and his depiction in VIIR and tie it back to Crisis Core, that is on topic. But if you ask "how do I synthesize this materia in Crisis Core?" or "what do you think about what Genesis said in Crisis Core", that post is off topic.
