I think this whole free market system is ridiculous. People shouldn't be allowed to sub to the game if they don't know how to play. I am 100% serious when I say that these kinds of retards should literally not even be allowed in my group. You should simply not be allowed to enter instanced content if you can't meet an extremely basic metric like silver proving grounds.
Sucks to suck, but you need to learn to improve, it's very rude to be shit at a co-op game that relies on other players.

God this expansion is just as dull as WoD. Delves aren't fun, too long and the rewards are minimal. Here's some currency for shit you can't buy because you haven't met a certain threshold. Go do more long grueling delves at increasingly high levels for a 610 piece of shit you'll never use and maybe a pure RNG gearset. What ate you working towards? Why customizing your mount of course.

Question for anyone in the know. I haven't played WoW ever, really, but I'd like to start, a friend of mine is coming back with the next expansion, and is offering to buy it for me when it launches.
If I were to ask him to preorder it for me (when that goes up which I think will be next year sometime?), will I get access to the current expack right away so I can try to get up to max level so I can start on the new stuff right away?
Or should I sub now, and buy the current expack to catch up, even if I probably won't play it a whole ton between now and then (since I'd be alone)

make sure you untick enabled/module enabled under friendly NPC. You could keep it enabled for friendly players in dunegons etc if you still wanna see those when appropriate.

I'm a new player so that could be it, I've played other MMO's, read my tooltips, looked at my talents but yeah I don't have an even distribution of gear or other stuff like heirlooms that I've seen people with. Compared to when I did it on MNK and could top up: it's way different. I hit 2-3 mobs, keep the frosty barrier rolling and then have to sit down to eat mana baked goods to top up my health again.
On MNK I could use was it vivify or any of the other heals easily.

That's why I've been pausing EXP, doing a few dungeon runs to top up gear then going back in. I suppose legacy players running alts will probably have an easier time but you do a few quests without gear rewards or they're small rewards for you: mobs get more tankier, you do less damage etc.
I only knew about the experience eliminator and farming dungeons for scaled gear/the slowing DPS because of youtube videos surrounding chromie time.

Just checked some of the ilvl discrepancies. I got a bunch of 140 and 1x 147 item. I have boots that are 84, legging that are 89, rings are in the 90's, trinkets are 54/84, bracers 89, robes are 103.

TBC is also probably one of the worst expansions you could level in as a new player. That was way before they made it so that every quest has something for everyone, so you won't get as many gear pieces, despite gear changing stats per class/spec.

Yeah, I'd come from doing vanilla using SPP project and I didn't have a compatible TBC client just as the site that hosted clients went down so I bought the game to play it that way after being told there was a workaround to do chromie time from the start.
The pace of levelling and scaling is very different from when I played vanilla, that's for sure.

I don't mind pausing to do dungeons to farm out some gear but I know if I was even more of an MMO noob who wanted to do things in order I'd have been walled by the level scaling or miserably fighting to each singular mob to the death..

Swapped my draenei for kultiran with the enchanter scroll and played it for a bit.
I knew from character creation screen that they are super lacking in customization, but only after playing it, I could truly see how dogshit halfassed they are, like they did the bare minimum to make them playable.

My rogue is a Nightborne. Subtlety rogues have lots of shadow damage talents so thry do benefot from the universal magic damage increase on that spec at least. The free AoE slow is really good. Well it's not 3 minute cooldown good, but i can't complain. Or that's what i would say if Rogue didn't have both a passive and active slow they can use. I've definitely used the free mailbox summon as i didn't goy out for the Brutosaur

Marks is dull and cyclic and relies entirely on proc cheese.
Surv still cannot decide what it wants to be.
BM is coherent but basically boils down to keeping up pet buffs. and not standing in fire.

in pvp they can all kill stuff in cds and are totally noodlemode outside of it.

but the biggest problem is identity, they all confused as fuck about what they are supposed to be. Surv is a sneaky forester who... throw fragrenades, bombs and poison at stuff like Rambo?
Marks hunter is literally "DO you want to be a Darkfallen elf or a High Elf"

the whole class needs to be looked at with a particular eye for chocies that reflect character identity. You should able to choose guns and explosive, or not. Bows and poison or not.

Like any hunter should be able to choose multishot or wildfire bomb as a choice node. Marks hunter should be able to do a Gun and grenades Infantry spec. Surv hunter should get its ranged weapon back and be able to truly fight at any range confidently. as was its pitch. It was never "melee hunter" it was "Hunter that isnt afraid of melee"

BM needs to lean into stuff like murder of crows, beast cleave, and should have eyes of the beast be a legit combat option. IMO it should stealth you while channeling and give you and improve "vehicle" pet. that you can use to fight stuff from standoff.

You should be able to choose your pets based on preference not based on a mandatory and poorly balanced buff.

The problem is that historically the first patch has the highest sub count/activity level and a lot of the people who leave during that initial patch don't return. Drvs keep making the same retarded mistake of making the first patch difficult, full of annoying half-baked systems and other garbage and then 'fix' it by the final patch but by then the subbed pop (who actively play, not counting people who log in once every three wreks to farm a transmog solo) is a fraction of what was a year prior. If they would start the expansion with all the quality of life shit that people who alpha/beta test bring up then maybe the game wouldn't become a ghost town by the second or third month. Imagine if we had a combination of DF season 3 and 4 with easy and forgiving dungeons, dinars and fast gearing instead of whatever abortion TWW launch season was. The next step is to stop making mythic raid bosses that take casual CE guilds 5-6 months to clear so they can farm mounts and BiS and play alts instead of getting burned out and quitting. The raider pool shrinks every patch and never bounces back and has been in a steady decline since BFA if you look at wowlogs.

Mistweaver is fun if you are used to playing melee DPS. Don't embarass yourself by trying to play it like a ranged spec, you should be doing kung fu 100% of the time.

I went from level 76 to 80 with a timewalking spam run. Then after about three hours in the siren place, I had a full set of 584-93 ilvl epics

So I guess I got jumped right over heroics and have to go into raids to upgrade. The raids are available in the dungeon finder now. Or wrong?

I have enough of the upgrade currencies to do one or two item upgrades. Should I save them for 600+ ilvl gear or upgrade ilvl 593 items?

What's your ideal item strategy for a first time 80?
