Alright, I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm about to come to the defense of Woshige.
He has to work with the Capcom team. They likely filter all of his idea. Because of that, he has to keep the shareholders and the higher ups happy. There are obviously limitations on what he can do. He has to explain in detail what he wants or how he thinks something should work to the team that actually does the game programming part. That can't be easy, which is why some things end up not working 100% perfectly at the start. And I imagine that his bosses tell him things like "Do something that is appealing to spectators and streamers." So what we're getting is likely not his "raw, unfiltered ideal" as some of you put it. This is very likely a collaborative work made by several people and he's just the fall guy for when something goes wrong.
Regarding his skill, regardless of your opinion of Guilty Gear or SFV, he obviously knows how to play fighting games well and what makes a game good or bad. Most of you probably don't remember, but he played Persona 4 Arena as well. And in that game, he played Yu Narukami, a character with a DP. And even if he didn't, he knows how the other characters work, surely. Is it really bad that he favors a certain style of play? Because of his bosses, he has to work with all kinds of characters anyway.
Regarding the art stuff, that was obviously tongue in cheek, done as a joke. It's in an optional side mode, not something being presented as a grand masterpiece of a genius.
tl;dr, Woshige has realistic goals and expectations for his field, experience level, and team size. You guys are just being way too harsh on him.
