Does reduced soul cost allow you to store more than the normal amount of vaal skill usages?
Like vaal ground slam says it stores 4 uses at 15 souls each. If that cost goes down to like 8 souls or whatever, can you then have 7 uses of the skill? Or is the amount of usages just hard capped?

That flew out the window before it even released. Absolutely nobody with a brain believed them when they put out an estimate of "at least 6 months in Early Access." It will be literal years and we're likely only going to get 1 new class in late March when Patch ZERO POINT TWO finally drops.

If your prevention duration is 0, you gain souls off the mobs killed/boss damage done. So as long as you have an okay pool of Souls, you can nuke everything down.

This is another thing that GGG loves doing. "Forgetting" about things, saving them for as long as humanly possible (if it's a good thing, sweeping under the rug forever if bad) to then hand to players like it's a golden treasure somewhere down the line.
They likely "fixed" whatever was wrong with Spectres in a day or 2 and then chose to not add it because they aren't focusing on Minion related content right now. It'll come out likely with the last Witch Ascendancy in like a year.

The thing about a training dummy in a game like PoE is that players want to min/max the numbers as hard as humanly possible. And, especially for minions, you can't even know how much damage you are doing exactly without going through massive bullshit hoops. Some Skills have practically-useless in-game DPS counters. Monster stats are all over the place. You can approximate a bunch of stuff, but getting hard numbers is hell in a game about numbers autism. It's just silly for them to gatekeep something so fundamentally basic that no other developer bats an eye at.

Hell you could even just add something to the hideout to just spawn a zombie or something. Doesn't even have to be a training dummy as such.

Because for years, they've gotten away with abusing carrot dangling.
They think "Oh, we'll just dangle some shit we had sitting in the back of the PoE1 concept locker in front of them and they'll forget about the abysmal state of PoE2!"
When they don't realize that they accidentally garnered a significantly larger following for PoE2 which do not care about PoE1 with its mountain of bloat, awful balance, practically nonexistent new-player onboarding (complete with players actively telling others to NOT play it due to said complexity and lack of handholding), etc.
Simply put, people expect them to treat 2 games.. as 2 games. Functionally separate, even if they are related. And this is throwing them for a loop because they've been resting on their laurels for close to a decade. Breach, the League that started PoE's speedfreak spiral that let them do whatever the fuck they wanted with impunity, was just a bit over 8 years ago.

5 passives to reach the highway node in front of Melding.
4 passives if your usual tree pathed over to Tolerance for a cheap 39% Chaos Res.
3 passives if your usual tree pathed down to Blood Siphon.
Sure, it's not efficient, but pissing and moaning about 5 (or fewer) passives is not doing you any favors.
Endgame minionmancers often opt for taking 2 Int nodes over the Mana/ES node and 3 Minion nodes you gotta path to to reach Deep Wisdom.
It's only annoying in the first 20 levels when you are going to be late getting early minion nodes because of said penalty, but it will smooth out as you progress. That being said, you'd likely be better off leveling something else and converting. You don't have to full-invest in your leveling setup to get it there.
The real annoyance the reason you should seriously consider a separate leveling setup is that you won't have access to any Minion gems until Act 3 Library/Act 5 Lilly Roth.

To an extent I agree because GGG historically does not place a high value on professionalism and personally speaking my company's still kinda in the process of spooling back up after Christmas, despite being way larger than GGG and also way more professional. They are clearly afraid of releasing utterly-broken untested shit that would piss people off. The game's balance is already fucked even with the shit they felt confident about releasing. Is this wise? Kinda. There are a lot of eyes on them and most of them are way more casual than /poe2g/.
The stuff we get is either stuff they're confident in (acts 1-3) or stuff they can't feasibly test at-scale (endgame). Shit like Blink/CoF killing the servers would have been way harder to find with 5 testers instead of 500k.

It’s like they have no idea what the actual issues are that are plaguing the game and are doubling down on the terrible tedium that makes it feel awful to play.
There was precisely ZERO mention of improving and adding any actual crafting.
Not to mention Johnathan lied completely about how close this game was to being finished. Early access lasting 6 months to a year is just absolutely a complete fantasy. This game is at minimum 2 years away from 1.0 and at least 3 years away from GGG finally admitting some of their design choices were awful and beginning to change them fundamentally.
I’ve never felt more disheartened about POE 2. I’m not even sure if releasing Duelist would make things better.

Why would people seethe? Grim Dawn isnt remotely the same, it follows an old school approach of releasing 1 xpac every few years. The current one is still delayed. It's hardly a threat to any live service arpg. It's a fun game but isn't really zoomy, or have the kind of chase and depth poe has. It's just a competent game that doesnt fuck things up and try to be more than it should.

lvl 6 you could use earthquake + totem to cheese harder bosses or use it to supplement basic attack vs bosses. I used this to kill freythorn boss way before my char was actually ready.

Minions is Infernalist, they're your main source of damage so you build them up (damage, health, crit if you're going that way). Keep in mind that minion skills have to be cast to be used, they aren't autocast by the minion.
DD is Blood Mage, your main damage is actually phys, most builds run Brutality and skip the fire damage. You don't care about minion damage at all, you care that they exist so you can explode them.
Chaos is just a joke unless you know what you're doing (and even then it's still a joke desu).

Just check mobalytics or maxroll of you're genuinely lost. Personal opinion, I didn't enjoy DD too much (but I can't deny it's strong), it's a little clunky.

The problem in 2 which may be rectified idk is that weapons have archetypes so for any given archetype you just pick the best thing. It has the item set problem GGG identified in D2. If you wear a set you're locked into certain items. In poe2 if you use a weapon you're locked into certain combos. Feels like there's less variation. I played Ice Strike and i looked up another build and it was almost identical to my own outside of like 5 points. I feel that doesn't happen in poe1 even with the same skill.

I think the simplest solution to end game is to make maps smaller and add more objectives. You're kinda limited in what you can do in an arpg and maybe complex things are too (relatively) difficult. most of us are coming from poe1 and when we see a skill take 4 seconds to activate after using it are dumbfounded. we want to right click and something to happen.
is that good or bad I don't know. they said that people who played poe1 before had a much more difficult time playing poe2 than people who did not.
they're intention was to make a completely different game with a different feel and play style. now obviously this is something that for some weapon types was achieved (maces) and for others have not.
ANYWAY, it feels like shit to use maces especially when we see other weapons fly through maps.

Plot wise LE definitely feels the most meandering of these types of games, things just kind of happen, until you confront the "villain" who just got introduced in chapter 9 of 9. They just throw you someone else to fight and run away, then complete their ritual and win before you finish killing their distraction. The actual god you've spent most of the campaign preparing the fight isn't even fought until some random endgame map and the first time your character is introduced to the true pinnacle mastermind evil god is his boss fight.

The campaign is fine, crafting is good and keeps you from getting stuck and generally you can homebrew any build and take it pretty far. The problems are how empty the endgame is, maps have no mechanics really, imagine PoE but the only things you get are shrines without enemy packs, essences that don't drop crafting materials and whatever PoE equivalent the harbingers(?) are, essentially enemies that you need to kill 4 times before they drop loot, once killed they run to the next map and stay exactly the same.

Lastly while crafting rares is easy, uniques are pretty much BiS for every build, and that means playing the Legendary Potential lottery, in a system more annoying than any PoE crafting, essentially it lets you move fractured mods onto unique items as implicits as long as they share the same base, it's as OP as it sounds but getting the right mods and a unique with slots for them takes forever.

TL:DR, good gameplay, bad story, empty world and endgame, wait for the patch to see if that fixes anything.

That's because you're doing it wrong, you should be farming Gravicius in T/maybe Cameria in T safehouses. Doing a lot of gravicius will inevitably lead to you getting some really great div card sets. Also betrayal gives very good XP.

I honestly think their Charm system is a good idea in theory.
The big problem is of course that they chose a horrible implementation for it.
Namely the part where you are capped at 1 unless you have a magic/rare Belt with a mod that adds another 1 or 2 slots. You should just get more as you level up.
