And KCD1 story is not even good, it's just that it's a nice underdog "peaseant who lost everything becomes a knight" rags to riches cliche.
But the main appeal has always been that this is one of the most immersive RPGs there is, if you're not the type to actively roleplay like "Go to sleep at inn, wake up, go to innkeeper and buy food, sit down to eat, plan your day, count your grostschen, check your armor, repair it, walk everywhere, etc" you won't enjoy it
