>>513517154>you missed literally everything in the forestI have cleared most of it. What would even make you think otherwise, ESL? And no I didn't die that many times in Heide, it seems to be by design that you should be clearing some zones out completely and reading about, people often seem to do this (Heide is an example I've particularly seen). So far sorcery is pretty shit as you either burn all of your magic on mobs (they rush you anyway so you have to play melee-like and do 1-2 casts when they get close) or just do half-assed melee. I've reached the next bonfire in Heide.
Oh another bizarre thing I've noticed in that zone specifically, most Heide knights are passive, but some auto-aggro. Like the one sitting down near (not the lance guy) the drake. And yes this is with the dragonrider alive still. Hitboxes are already apparently worse in this game too. Or at the very least, registration. I even walk/rub up against enemies before striking and sometimes a slashing attack with the mace doesn't register against a fucking old knight (not blocked/shield, grazing across their leg with zero feedback).
So far DS2 is a huge disappointment and downgrade to DS1. It's like a fan-made imitation of "dark souls". I can only hope my character gets relatively stronger later on to a decent degree, such as sorceries getting good. A cool yet annoying thing I've noticed is enemies actually raise their shields on approach which significantly (thus far anyway) reduces the magic damage they receive. So far going magic feels like a waste and almost pointless. I'll stick with it for now.
Rereading your bizarre post,
>you missed literally everything in the forestGenuinely amazed at this in particular. Just incase: I killed the last giant and I think I've opened all doors with the key he drops. I've opened 2 maybe 3 doors with it. I've killed (painfully slowly) the forced invader (forget his name, he's a melee + magic prick, seems way overtuned for that area).
