I just noticed the Doctor's pets(Yarnaby and Big Baba Chops) are referencing the Lion and the Lamb symbolism, especially how throughout the factory in chapter 4, you can find some dead bodies in crucifixion poses.

Felt like they 'killed' him off in a way where he could come back in-case he gets suuPER popular and fan-favorited.
I can already see it now: Final Chapter-Last boss, just as the Prototype has us on the ropes, Doey pops outta knowhere for revenge, gets the drop on him in, holds him down so we can deliver the final blow and sacrifices himself giving us all the madfeels!

Huggy is practically the face of the game since he was the very first antagonist and his return had been teased for a while now (like the blue fur stuck to a wall in Chapter 2), and if Chapter 5 is the final chapter then it brings things full circle. Yarnaby returning immediately after his defeat wouldn't have the same impact. Mainly I just don't want to set myself up for disappointment if they truly are dead

i feel like safe haven/doey and harley's prison shouuld have been split into two separate chapters, chapter 4 feels too cluttered and while doey gets well needed screentime harley and yarnaby's attention feels lacking

You're telling me you can't think of a single way to make Doey's story, relationship with Poppy, and the safe haven in general its own chapter? What about including more bigger bodies from the original characters that we're still waiting to see? Or maybe even a new character of some kind? What about simultaniously trying to protect the safe haven and setting up the trap for the prototype before it all goes awry? There's a million and a half ways to do a bunker down and counterattack chapter as the prototype (seemingly) throws everything it has at you before pulling the rug from under you and blowing up the safe haven leading to Doey attacking you in anger like normal.

100% agree, this chapter was way too cluttered. The only character I felt got a decent amount of screentime was Doey. The nightmare critters worked well as advanced fodder enemies despite us getting only three new cutouts while the rest were repeats from previous chapters with absolutely nothing for the nightmare critters, yarnaby gets two chase scenes and then fucking dies for absolutely no reason after being built up as a viscious yet intelligent attack dog, Sawyer has one mediocre "boss" battle after he spends a bit of time monologuing about his machinations coming to fruition and how we're the same deep down, and pianosaurus. Shoulda made this chapter about the Doctor, don't make him inexplicably allied with the prototype, let him have the final boss battle, give the nightmare critters cutouts and ensure they appear in the next chapter as some of the enemies trying to destroy the safe haven, replace that shitty baba chops boss with pianosaurus, and add more chase and sneak scenes with Yarnaby before killing him off in a meaningful way that doesn't look like some shit out of the three stooges.

If Poppy's plan goes through, the player won't even be alive enough for it to matter. The fact the player hasn't hesitated even once despite knowing her goal is to nuke the factory with the Prototype and everyone inside it means they probably intend to die taking the damn thing with them.

Even if you wanted a NC boss fight, which I personally didn't, you've gotta admit that it was pretty poorly executed. It all just amounted to running around in a cricle grabbing batteries. Plus the animation wasn't that good and the SFX got grating after a while. I'm just so crestfallen about all this man.

The glow in the dark piano boss would have been really good in a dark area where you could only hear him and occasionally see flickers of light. Kinda like Ballora in fnaf sister location. The "Show bibles" in the op posts of all these threads had a few people working on them for like half a year. Eventually after not much progress getting made because Randall (A writer) was losing motivation, the project got cancelled. Alongside this Ted was quickly getting more and more angry at the posters in the threads because they didn't like his ideas, and the threads had a ton of people who like the smiling critters, who he hates for "Stealing the thunder" from other characters in the game. Realistically if they haven't abandoned Project.P, I doubt they'll spend the time to make all 8 (Or even 16) Critter skins with unique models/skeletons. Either they'll just make them all have the same body type, or they just won't add the Critters with bodies too different from CatNap (Like Kickin)

Why hype up Nightmare Critters and do nothing with them? No cartoon, no cutouts, actual representees(No a bigger version with a different color hurt effect that acts just the same as the regular Nightmare Creature isn't an actual representee, that's just a glorified mob)..

Yeah, that's pretty disappointing.
I think they should've taken a extra year and a half or a year to polish out chapter 4 better, since the current game is a complete flop.

As for the story, disappointing. The television headed robots and the whole premise of television displays with a eye on them just seems stupid, not really scary. I think the robots should've just had actual faces or blank expressionless heads.

Chapter 4 seems to condense way too much of the story and does not have enough "showcasing" for the other important characters within it, and has the same issue as Chapter 3 where characters are showcased, then immediately removed/culled off for no reason.

Honestly, after reading the wiki and your spoiler, my taste of the entire franchise has been spoiled. I'd honestly give up trying to continue with the current iteration of lore post chapter-3 and come up with a entirely different outcome.

If I had any say in how the development was run, Chapter 4 would be dedicated towards the prison itself, Sawyer would be a ever present neutral party, or secondary antagonist that reveals itself by intercom, instead of television screens with that stupid eye. And Yarnaby would be a mini-boss inside of the prison, with a chase happening earlier into the chapter inside of the prison itself instead of some storage room. As for how he'd die in the chapter, He'd try chasing the player again, but the player sends them falling or Yarnaby themselves falls as they try to desperately clamber upwards, the player shooting his hands with the flare-gun until he ends up set on fire and quickly ends up engulfed in flames from his synthetic yarn. After his charred corpse falls down the pit, the player can continue the rest of the chapter and exit the prison.

Baba Chops isn't really good boss material, so I'd replace them with Pianosarus, the miniature nightmare critters would still be secondary antagonists including Baba Chops.

Pianosaurus would be the main boss of the chapter. His first appearance would be after Yarnaby dies, as his teeth and eyes light up in the distance. From there the player can continue the rest of the chapter, Sawyer commenting on their actions as he attempts to impede their progress (by shutting off lighting in certain corridors and rooms or electrifying doors/grilles), forcing the player to use a flashlight to find where to next progress. The grand boss battle begins when the player finds a room full of telecommunication equipment, which leads to a larger backup generator/power room full of electrical machinery. From there Sawyer would immediately shut off all the lighting in that room, leaving it illuminated only by dim red emergency lights.

Pianosaurus's teeth and eyes illuminate as he lets out a distorted piano note, commencing the beginning of the final boss fight where the player either has to electrify certain elements to damage him when his tail swings around in a attempt to strike the player. Eventually he's fried to death by electric current and cannot operate anymore.

I think it'd be pretty climatic, the chapter ending right as the player unlocks a door in the emergency generator room, leading towards where Harley Sawyer resides as his brain in a vat. Protected by a electrified grille and vault door that needs to be disabled and opened.

Chapter 5 would revolve around defeating Harley Sawyer with the help of Doey the Doughman and the critters in Safe Haven. Safe Haven itself being discovered with environmental clues (drawings, rubbish, etc) leading to it.

As for a antagonist, I guess Baba Chops could try to fit in here as a secondary antagonist. The player's goal would be to open the vault that protects Sawyer's brain though.

I dunno, I can see how making this chapter is tricky, there's so much to coalesce into a proper game.

I think this chapter gave us a little hint with how they do it with Doey. It seems their poppy formula makes flesh more menidble or stretchy, assuming Doey is just 3 human boys dissolved into poppy formula plastic dough. It seems poppy edited flesh is also self regenerative, thus how they can endlessly starve without dying, also explains how Doey can leave so much of himself around, he just makes more.

I guess the boss fight could end the same as Yarnaby's chase, with Baba being set alight and charred up.

Maybe she could be swapped up with Yarnaby's position in Chapter 5 now that I think of it? Since Yarnaby is noted as Sawyer's own "pet" or "guard dog" in a sense.

When Sawyer sicked Baba on MC who he announced as another of his pets as he in quote says "Do you really think Yarnaby was my only pet?" which pretty mean Baba was guard dog number 2.

What should've happened is Baba got her own model and animations that differs her from the regular Nightmare Critters instead of the just an enlarged version of a regular Nightmare Critter with green effects instead of red effects, also why was her effect green which people wondered if it was poison which would've been so much better than a color change, then all those other Night Critters that was in the cages should've been getting released as you open them making the fight harder as you progress.

The left some questions as well is that Baba Chops and the other Nightmare Critters in that room are still alive, then there's that choice on killing Simon or leaving that happened afterwards which makes it seem that the Devs might have the Nightmare Critters return in the next chapter with Baba and Simon coming back?

>"Ollie" is most likely the Prototype's true name
In the ending it's implied that Ollie has been Prototype from before he started talking to Poppy and they're talking in 7th tape, which appears to have been recorded before the Hour of Joy, which was most likely when he started merging with other toys. So we can probably rule out him once being a seperate toy.
>The Prototype is most likely not Ludwig.
In the 15th tape, Poppy says she hates the prototype and misses her father. She also explains her father "always knew what to say". By comparison, in the 7th tape "Ollie" doesn't seem to know how to comfort Poppy (if he's even actually interested in doing that).
>It seems that Poppy has something inside of her that the Prototype needs.
In the 7th tape, Ollie implies that Poppy has a part of him inside of her that he was glad was still there and that the scientist were slowly extracting and/or destroying it. The 12th tape also implies that Ollie needed something and is running out of time and that he suspected Sawyer knew what that was.

I feel like the lesson of the game is no good deed goes unpunished the protagonist thought he was doing a good thing by coming back 10 years later after answering that letter begging for help. Honestly that in itself will always bother me, this guy was lucky to survive the hour of joy because he wasn't there that day due to whatever, we never know what he did but all the toys know his face, he clearly knew what horrors were going on there. But why this person and who reached out to him after 10 years and not 1 or 2 or even 3 years after the fact? A whole fucking decade later, and they knew his address and residence, okay maybe not hard to dig through employee archieves for that information but how did they draft a letter, get out of the factory to a postal service for circulation? This is also the era where people read your mail, a message like that would likely get cops called and investigators sent to the return address on the letter, every letter has to have a return address to be put into circulation, so how did this letter make it through all of those checkmarks undetected?

Then there's the protagonist himself, survivor's guilt is a real motherfucker but to drive to your former place of work where every single employee disappeared one day and the place was condemned and break in just for that letter is bonkers.

Thing I noticed about Rich is he's a lot calmer and nicer. He really did make that effort, and I think being in a position of authority actually ended up being good for him.

The first episode is actually no different than the rest of the series in that regard per minute, actually. It just feels that way because the first episode was written for a story that would unfold over the course of multiple seasons while the rest was the bare minimum needed to get to the endpoint of that story within seven episodes, so they're SIGNIFICANTLY faster paced than the first.

I can't find the interview but basically, Chapter 1 was meant to be much longer and incorporating a lot of the minigames we see in 2 but because they never met the goal they chopped it down to the bare essentials. Cat-Bee was mentioned in this interview and was stated to have a big role as an enemy that we would fight off in some minigame.

No, Matthew and Kevin's colors should be swapped. Everyone gets that wrong for some reason. Orange represents Kevin and red represents Matthew. The heads in the monster form are arranged the same as the colors, and only one head is angry (Kevin's) and it's position matches Doey's orange color positioning so therefore Kevin is orange.
Furthermore, the Doey the Doughman logo has the colored hands in different poses; yellow is just an open hand, orange is a balled fist (fits Kevin's anger), red is pointing (fits Matthew's charisma and leadership)

You know, it certainly seems interesting how the player seems both important and unimportant at the same time. A lot of the bigger bodies seem to recognise the player and at the same time... not. From his nightmare he seems to have knowledge of very important places and events, yet he seems to be unaware of various threats and events that would be hard to be unaware of if he was an important person in Playtime Co. .

Poppy isn't evil but she's obsessed with the greater good and believes (rightly) that nobody would trust her if they knew she fully intends to blow up the entire factory with everyone inside to destroy the Prototype and prevent this all from happening again. The toys in Safe Haven dislike her because she's a manipulative bitch who ultimately views everyone's lives (even her own) as expendable for that goal and will use and abandon people as soon as it gets her close to the objective. On one hand a lot of it is Poppy's fault. Like not being up front about things or derailing the train (when we could have left the factory and gotten better equipment...like a gun)

The devs probably tried doing what Alien Isolation did for their Yarnaby section. Like the guy being able to kill you while you're hiding is something that's very rare in horror games and yet was a prominent feature in Alien Isolation.

In Alien Isolation xenomorph had two "brains". One is always know where you are and is giving hints to second one, sort of a game of hot and cold if you know what I mean, plus MC of isolation had a whole instrumentary in her pockets that made gameplay so good. I really think Sawyer's robots were underutilized. Like why not include one for each of his organs you have to destroy where you have to shoot it a bunch with the flare gun to destroy it. Also I think that he should have alterted yarnaby with alarms during his steath section using the cameras. I mean he says there's nowhere you can hide from him and we proceed to easily hide from him the entire game. That's all, good chapter otherwise.

Every piece of fanart or AUs involving an afterlife usually have it so that the kids identities have become indistinguishable from the toys because they've BEEN the toys for so long - they have no memories of who they once were so they default to the toys because that's all they know. Just look at all the SC afterlife AUs for example like Sewntogether, Mourning & Mending, or that Red Therapy afterlife AU; they're still in the form of the toys despite being dead because to them, they've never been anything else.

In all likelihood, the only exception would probably be Riley because she could remember her human life despite getting turned into a Kissy toy.

Even if you removed the Nightmare Critters, it would have been impossible to give Pianosaurus, Yarnaby, AND Sawyer equal screentime without delaying the chapter by 3 years or more. You'd need to give two the cutting room floor to focus on one or extend the game by another fucking chapter to justify focusing on them alone. Either option would have been utterly unacceptable for multiple reasons.

It's funny too, because Chapter 2 had a bunch of toys who showed up once to accost the player and then never again and I don't see anyone wanting PJ Pug-a-Pillar back.

Pianosaurus is just a joke character, a joke that maybe didn't land for his autistic fanbase but giving him more screentime is missing the point.
The nightmare critters can fuck off.
Yarnaby just needed a better chase scene.
Sawyer was gloating about being a big mastermind yet he was underwhelming all the way through and his boss fight was anticlimatic. I think out of all the characters he was the one that needed the most rework, the others only need some slight adjustments.

I think the point of Sawyer is that he viewed himself as this god like figure when in reality he was just another stooge in the grand scheme of playtime. He gave the game away when his rants basically devolve to "Fuck Elliot, Fuck his creations, I'm going to make something better and get the recognition for it".

Sawyer effectively never got over the fact that Elliot Ludwig rejected him from his genius program and was obsessed with one-upping him. He doesn't even comment on the other executives who "betrayed" him outside of vhs tapes.

I mean look at it like this, for all his bluster his main means of force was Yarnaby and the Nightmare Critters. Without them he was limited to slow robot bodies that only existed in a single area of the entire prison. Compare that to the Prototype who is not only more capable but also shown to be able to maneuver pretty much anywhere through the factory.

Sawyer talked a big game but he was effectively just a glorified security system. Hell even the other scientists didn't think much of him and that was before he became a security camera.

It was amazing, The game took off fast and people already claimed that it stood toe to toe with Fnaf. We all thought Huggy's name was Poppy. We salivated at Huggy Wuggy's chase scene and how he animated. It was simple, CatBee was THE waifu, Bronfags didn't just have hope, they were confident he was confirmed he'll show up.
Of course, this was when Bendy was falling off, so comparisons arose and Mob Entertainment's shady dealings were at a tipping point. Poppy was equally hated as it was loved, it was the "death of mascot horror"

Its such a minor "character" that it could show up in the background of a scene with a bunch of toys, but only if you didn't kill it. This of course won't be happening cause I doubt they're even keeping track if you killed it or not, and he story probably won't give an opportunity for them to be seen somewhere.

They can make up so many scenarios for his escape.

Make the choice carry over, if you kill Simon, then there will be no Simon instead something else replaces him or they'll be nothing, but if you let him live, then Simon appears.

Besides there are many games that did this to end up breaking immersion later, like there are some games that allows you to play as a good guy to later find out in the sequel that the Protagonist is supposed to be bad guy.

My precognition tells me that there is only one ending to the Poppy Playtime story as a whole.
In it, the Prototype and Poppy both die, the factory is totally destroyed, and only your character survives. But, they have to turn themselves into a Bigger Body to escape, leaving them to be shot by the police when they arrive.

The writing in chapter 4 wasn't the problem. The lore, voice acting, and story itself were actually better than chapter 3, they nailed the fuck out of Doey's characterization with Matt, Kevin, and Jack. The problem I and many others have with the chapter was that they did too much with too little time. The animations are spotty, glitches everywhere, and many characters felt lackluster because of it. This is also partially our faults because we're the ones who were constantly bitching about the delays when they were working on chapter 3 last year. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't sitch.
