My name is [generic druid name] and I'm lvling with almost all of my talents put into resto. (Except for a chosen few for good utility in pvp).
As the title says, I want to make more people aware that the level-requirements for dungeons are meant / installed primarily for the sake of being able to hit your target with melee hits and spells. This is obviously vital for 2 out of 3 parts of YOUR dungeon group.
The tank. If the tank can't attack the target or use his spells, he gains no aggro and dps (if they are higher levels) will take aggro and probably die.
The dps. If the dps can't hit things, well then the dungeon is going to be awfully long, isn't it?
The healer. If the healer can't hit the mobs then.......Oh yea, NOTHING bad happens. As a healer, my one and only job is to keep YOU alive. I do this by targeting you and using my fancy healing spells. This means that if a dungeon such as Sunken Temple says 50-56, then a 48 healer won't have any issues keeping you alive. If BRD says 52-60, then a lvl 50 healer wont have any problem keeping you alive. (I actually healed a full BRD run (except for the last 2 bosses as our tank was 52 and couldn't keep aggro anymore) while being level 48).
Obviously I believe there are some restrictions that needs to be kept in mind. If you're a lower level healer going into a dungeon, be aware of body pulls and try and stay back / watch out for patrols.
Also, if you're not Resto/Holy/whatevertheequivalent is for your class, then it might be more difficult, but as a player that has chosen to level as a healer, all of my talents have gone into resto, all of my items have + healing on them and primarily int + spirit. I can promise you, that I'll fare better in your BRD group at lvl 48-50, than that other healer lvl 52-53 who just slabbed on some int/spirit gear with 90% of their talents in a dps/lvling spec.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Sincerely,
A healer tired of being told "too low" in whispers.
