I'm convinced now more than ever that the "true" PoE2 endgame in 1.0 will be a Cataclysm scenario in the present that takes place after Act 6. This placeholder endgame is a convenient teaser utilizing the Act 3 time traveling. The real endgame will have no time travel. Doryani and pals are possibly EA placeholders. The Expedition time travel dialogue is a placeholder and won't exist in 1.0. Endgame Ziggurat Refuge will not exist in 1.0. We will have other NPCs being our endgame pals, could be Sin+Innocence, Zana, or anyone really. Alva has important dialogue about the Arbiter so she may be a constant throughout the campaign.

I cannot fathom how someone can say this unironically, not only do we know from past experiences in PoE that yes, those things can be magically changed, but we also know that PoE2 is unfinished and that the current endgame systems are only a placeholder and that having a hissy fit over them is childish.

Who gives this person money and allows them to continue producing """content"""?

It is all placeholder, yes. Doryani however has way too much dialogue as well as topics about things we have yet to see in the acts (mentioning cult of purple flame after xesht kill) I'm pretty sure he's sticking around. Alva too, remember scourge league and "last to die"? A lot of stuff developed for poe2 got reused/repurposed as poe1 leagues and I'm pretty sure that's one of them. Like how jamanra was gonna be the boss of nenet's questline in heist league. Instead of getting used in poe1 he went on to be an act boss.

There's a bunch of spoilers from an accidental leak of area/boss names during exilecon, as well as the art book, which give a good indication of act 6 being oriath and the beast. I also have a pretty good indication act 5 will involve trarthus. Could post more if anyone cares.

I know this is probably the 900th reminder, but i have multiple lvl 90+ toons and have helped a ton of people and keep getting asked about this and that bug. This game is in such good shape that it may be easy to forget that we are effectively beta testers, this game is not fully ready. And while it may be in better shape than a lot of AAA games that release these days in their fully capacity, it’s still an early access game. I know you all have heard this countless times but i want to reiterate, this is early access. Just because it’s 80% perfect as it already stands doesn’t change the fact that it’s still early access and there are still bugs to address and things to tweak. This is not out of the norm. <3 you gamers.

I went in blind, picked sorc, went with stormweaver cause it's simple, liked ice spells particularly blowing up frost walls with aoe maxed. Damage clearly faltering in late maps and feeling squishy, try mom+eb with arcane surge path and archmage, suddenly build is way better. Get more mana, have enough damage to just want faster clear/coverage, try spark. Build now even better, entirely lightning/mana focus now, anything else tried not even close to as good. It's popular because the other options are plainly not as good.

Siphoning Strike is better than Killing Palm, but 1) you're thinking of Power Charges, they only become Endurance Charges with Resonance 2) even some of the meme meta builds still use Hand of Chayula for bossing since Heralds don't do shit against them and 3) Storm Wave (the ranged lightning attack) is still really fucking good even on a generic Ice Strike build because it's easy to Electrocute and can still proc heralds and can snipe shit through walls, get a little bit of %AoE and you can clear Augury without ever touching the levers

Maces(warrior) in a vacuum feels weighty and intentional in how it plays. Honest, even. It's imo a lot of fun and what kept me playing. Throw in Monk and you have a class that is somehow melee but also ranged, doesn't play at all by the same rules that Maces do, doesn't need to combat any of the friction that Maces do, doesn't have to worry about squaring up against mobs and getting hit because he can teleport/use energy shields and just deletes the screen with chaining heralds

I mean you will be significantly less likely to find a good mace later on because there will be, claw, daggers, swords, bows, staves, qtr,staves, axes, spears, flails, wands and traps in your drop pool. Melee combat feels like shit because animations and physics of the models when they connect are clunky as fuck.
When you use rolling slam for example, it may weirdly push the enemy back in the process of animation, or straight up move you into the different place from your cursor.
When you use some other skills character gets locked into place with another weird long floaty animation and given that so many mobs are very quick its ending up feeling just bad.
Even monk melee with the strikes somehow feel not that good despite animations being quick. There is that weird animation of leap that glues you to the enemy yet it feels as floaty and unresponsive as if you don't have the full control over your toon's every move.
There is just something wrong when your model connects the enemy one. It feels clunky as fuck.
In unronically prefer the combat of literally any other ARPG.

They've made it pretty clear they want you to be around this life pool (life, not ES, that's a different discussion).
They've made it pretty clear that melee will be in the thick of it and will have to rely on damage, CC's and escapes to survive.
They've made it very very clear that they're sticking to a single portal.
Their "attempt" at balancing armour has made it pretty clear they don't want it to be strong, at least not against big hits which are the actual problem.
It's basic logic that with the current damage formula (that they're very reluctant to move away from) increasing damage taken will reduce the effectiveness of armour even further.
It's basic logic that taking more damage will lead to more deaths.
It's basic pattern recognition (from poe1) that berserkers are an extremely squishy glass cannon class.

If you play berserker you will die more often.
If you die you brick your map.
Berserkers are inherently a bad in a game with 1 life (per map).

The only thing in my big list that there is even a remote chance of them changing is the armour formula. But that needs to be balanced around the class taking normal amounts of damage so it isn't invincible not the class taking more damage, so the class taking more damage is still going to be worse to play with 1 portal because he'll die far more often.

They've already sold most of what they're going to sell, they have no reason to fundamentally change the gameplay going forward. I've stated a number of logical reasons why it's going to be bad, the main ones being portals (not changing) and taking more damage (not changing). I doubt the unique point is intentional.
And dunno quite what you mean with the passive tree. The fact that skills have their passive tree is like PoE? PoE doesn't have this. Or is there something else. One issue for sure with this is the extreme imbalance, where some skills have like 2 more multipliers, and some others have like a dozen, and surprise, the ones with more are substantially stronger by a massive margin.

Lab and sanctum aren't maps.
Lab is easy, reattemptable, and isn't juiced.

For example they have focused the endgame on clear speed of packs. meanwhile D2 had a more varied endgame like killing specific bosses to get keys to then do ubers, you could make a character that was basically useless at clearing packs of enemies but good at bosses/ubers. In these new games every spec of every class needs to be good at clearing packs and bosses, this creates a sort of homogenization of balance and some classes just become clear winners and some clear losers. One of the reasons people circlejerk souls games and especially ER so hard is because at any given time you can stumble over a weapon with a completely different gimmick and moveset than any other one you have or a spell that becomes your new mainstay for the next 15 hours. Any DaS1fag can tell you about the Zweihanger in the cemetery and everyone on a second Elden Ring playthrough knows where to get Moonveil or Reduvia or the Meteorite Staff because one single item you find laying around completely changes the way you engage with the game
There is not a single Diablo-like game where loot is anywhere near as "meaningful and interesting" as it is in any Souls game and for that matter this is the same reason people suck off Morrowind so hard 20 years later
Procgen randomized loot by its very nature cannot be meaningful

This didn't actually happen lol, as much as people despise Diablo 3 more played it than ever picked up PoE 1. BTW PoE 1 is just as derivative, just in a different way.

The fact is that the closest thing to a true sequel Diablo 2 ever got was Dark Souls, and that was closer to Diablo 1 actually.

The game would have been way more enjoyable for everyone if there were 6 portals and no xp loss.
Tryharders would either 1shot the highest content or face the walls that will incentivize the build/item change they want so much anyway. XP loss and 1 death orr map dont play any role here.
And for the rest it wouldn't be the constant kick in the balls that force to walk in eggshells instead of enjoying the classic ARPG gameplay.

There are a ton of decent early end game items people put into 10-20ex dump tabs that could help people out, but no one is going to go through the hassle of teleporting back, inviting, trading, putting orbs into the stash for 10 ex now, so they just vendor the items to gamba with the gold later

So much potential gear that could help alts out wasted because the juice isn’t worth the squeeze as a byproduct of inflation.

Obviously with the regular ones you just force them to attack you and then murder them when their shield is down. but the rare version with HP regen just shrugs off any attack I throw at him even with his shield down. He might just have ridiculous lightning resistance as a modifier idk. literally I can hit him with my full skill rotation from behind and it does 10% of his health then heals back to full in an instant. I'm so pissed I think this is actually my uninstall excuse. there's no situation in an ARPG where enemies should be invincible to an entire class for a completely arbitrary reason.
this is my 3rd character too, never encountered this issue before playing witch or warrior. fuck this garbage.

he had too many modifiers, mana drain + chaos orbs + hp regen made it impossible to stay in his melee range for more than a second. I crushed through the entire rest of the map in like 1-2 seconds per rare. even the map boss was dead in 3 seconds. meanwhile this fucking knight random rare mob was fucking unkillable.

My point is that you bought one of the most powerful items in the game for one of the most powerful ascendancies in the game and your build/gameplay is somehow still so fundamentally fucking terrible that you can't kill a rare mob with some slightly unfortunate mods. The only one of your listed affixes that matters at all is volatile plants and you didn't mention the far more heinous temporal bubble or any sort of juiced modifiers on your map so I can only assume you are completely fucking retarded.
Any Attack-based build over level 85 with a HoWA should be able to near-instantly kill anything short of pinnacles. It does not matter if that mob has capped res and life regen and ES, you should not be struggling to kill it. Your problem would maybe be justifiable if you were an undergeared Warrior but if you are a Deadeye with HoWA then anything in the game is only able to exist on your screen because you're busy jerking off.

You don't have to explain how Deadeye works. I know it's broken as shit. I kill every other mob in the game in 1-2 hits. That's the point, why is this single mob invincible to every arrow attack while everything else gets melted? My gear probably is underleveled, I was hoping to hit 80 before upgrading from my level 65 gear. Still, it melts everything except this ONE mob. I feel like I'm just being hit over the head with the same basic ass advice that I already knew. The mob was just unkillable due to a bad combination of traits. I know this because this mob actually had two of that knight unit. The one that didn't have HP regen I easily dispatched by doing all the standard shit you guys have mentioned. The one that had regen, because it blocks 99% of your damage from distance and you only get like, half a second to attack it in melee range before needing to dodge chaos orbs, can't be whittled down. It's fucking impossible man.

I'm an infernalist using frost wall + fireball combo but I feel like I'm struggling with maps (just started), so I'm looking into abusing crit with Eye of Winter and Cast on Crit with some stuff
I'm on SSF, so its hard to get gear for builds (like Ghostwrithe for Demon Form build)
