Finally ran into a situation where I had to disable it temporarily. The Tyger claw bosses you fight in Pisces were near unbeatable. Also, for some godawful reason, the mod gives Maiko a high end sandy and an smg.

Haven't gotten there yet, but I know I was about fed up with how they make the beat the brat gigs. Enemies are basically immune to "parrying" for the first minute or two, and of course they two to three tap you. I do like that it makes some of the named enemies that are just "slightly harder than normal mobs" into bosses though.

I used to use it, but if you only have it on during photomode it can be annoying, because you never know what the lighting actually is on your picture until you take the pic itself.

I think the stealth is pretty good in this game. But I'd recommend getting the stealthrunner mod and the one that allows you to stealth kill with more weapons to really enjoy it.
There are a lot of hidden path ways into gigs to utlize stealh. Rooftops, side entrances, grates that allow you to go under the building or hop into a utility room. You'll honestly be surprised at all the options, but it requires some patience to find. I found some ways that are probably unintional but worked out all the same. If you like ghosting, it's possible in most gigs too.

You'll still need other skills for the forced combat sections but you'll have perk points to spare since stealth itself doesn't ask much.
If you pick up netrunning alongside you'll have no problem with most bosses. It's a bit slow going at first but you can unlock ''sprinting'' in stealth and dashing works too in stealth (enemies can hear the latter one if you are too close though, but it's more of a ''must have been the wind'' moment, not instant detection).

Unfortunately the mod removes all the nerve-related effects to ADS from Dark Future which is my favourite aspect of it, and it seems to bake it into the save too, I reloaded to a save from before that mod and all my dark future bars reset, currently seeing whether the effects are fixed once nerve depletes
If you dont care about dark future though, its pretty neat, almost forgot I had it on until I noticed my vision stopped zooming in and out, feels natural

it does seem to be working, fighting through konpeki plaza, once alerted, enemies from the entire floor make their way to the fray, as opposed to being staggered encounters along the path, does feel more natural

To be fair, being hunted by Arasaka is basically a death sentence and very few are willing to take that risk, which is why those that do end up becoming legends (like Johnny, Path of Glory V and Rogue). If Hanako wasn't convinced by Goro to see V as a pawn against Yorinobu then V would've likely fallen a similar fate in the motel out in the Badlands. Dex was a coward because he'd only realized that he wanted the "quiet life" he spoke of after he'd already half-heartedly talked everyone else into joining the "blaze of glory" with him. They found V in the motel because Takemura had already planted a tracker on V. They would've likely found V anyway, but it might've taken somewhat longer.
I could be wrong but think it's generally implied V was tailed when they're discovered in the apartment building with Hanako, which makes sense given the initial dialogue and also many other times where V has been tailed in other quests (thinking of Phantom Liberty).

Is it always V's intention to become a big shot in Night City or is it just something that he/she does because Jackie thrusts them into it?
I remember there being some dialogue in certain scenes where V explains that he/she went along with the heist merely to placate his friend, although I can't tell you which scene it comes from.
Particularly in the scene just before the ending where V sits on the lawn chair on top of Misty's Esoterica, it is explained that Misty brought Jackie there when Mama Welles found out about Jackie working for the Valentinos, and he thought about killing himself before "finding the courage to bet on himself". I think the subtext is obvious for the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending, but I'm wondering if this is intended to be some gigantic revelation for V that spurs character development or is just something to potentially spur on roleplayers.
I did take it as the former but then again, I did that ending so perhaps my interpretation is different to most other players.

There is a mod that lets you play different sex scenes from the game with a character of your choice (Lizzie's braindance)
There is a mod that adds some whores around town that used reused animations from vanilla content (Hotscenes addon)
There are a couple of "romance" mods (one night stands with story NPCs) that also use reused animations

Sadly there is nothing like the creation kit for Cyberpunk, if there was the modding scene could be insane....

It is. It's basically a greatest hits album of all cyberpunk tropes, in a good way of course.
Jackets were inspired by Akira, designs of the motorcycles in the game, even some of the smart weapons.
Some of the outfits resemble GITS outfits too, there's even a cyberpsycho that's clearly a homage to the Major.
Even a lot of the art is inspired by Syd Mead who was the concept artist for Blade Runner, and some scenes even intentionally mimic the color palettes of the movie. There's even a sandstorm weather that's probably a reference to 2049.
The biggest inspiration is the foundational work of the entire genre, Neuromancer, and the setting and narrative constantly calls back to it.

I like Automatic because i can single fire and burst on my own, but game developers have their own little stereotypes about how guns function, so in most cases i lean towards Burst fire weapons because the gun stereotype is that burst weapons recoil vertically. And countering vertical recoil is easy, so I use the Masamune.
Another stereotype is that AK47/stamped steel looking weapons recoil vertically. So Pulsar is my go to automatic.

Yeah, right pad is an extra mouse that can be used with AMM, left pad buttons are used for various tasks but most importantly it allows me to scroll the AMM menus. I use two of the back buttons for sprint and jump and can thus also activate PM, the other two back buttons are respectively the tilde key and a mouse click

So I was playing this game on my PS5, and I'm pretty far ahead, almost reaching max LVL, and with almost all gigs done. the balance is meant to be that you dont have enough ram to kill everyone and have dudes chasing after you while you recharge ram so you have to mix quickhacking and smartgun/monowire

in practice the moment you get overclock you can nearly wipe almost any enemy stack long before you're detected even without the stealth cyberdeck. they need kinda nerf quickhacking from the release version of the game but didnt nerf it enough. enemy netrunners should be more common, way stronger and netrunning should be more reliant on other types of combat to recharge ram

the netrunner perk tree is kinda built around it. and early game it's genuinely hard when you spec netrunning before you get a lot of body/technical points because if you go all out you leave yourself with no health and any enemy can 1shot you (im playing on very hard)

but when you have adrenaline rush,biomonitor,blood pump.... overclock becomes insanely powerful

It just looks bland compared to vanilla clothes where even the most utilitarian clothing styles, like the Militech stuff, have ample of little details that give the clothes so much character. You should be able to tell by their outfit where the secretary works

Pardon me for going a lil skitzo here, but I am starting to suspect that a lot of these cosmetic mods are being uploaded purely for a quick buck. Especially those outfit mods that are always ~20+ color variations of the same outfit. Add to that that there are some confirmed fit mods where the meshes were simply bought from some 3D models webstore. It's not like I'm saying that every clothing mod needs to be in the Neo-Kitsch style, it's just a shame that the modders make clothing that often looks blander than the in-game stuff unless you mix and match, when the Cyberpunk setting should inspire all sorts of really crazy out-there clothing and cosmetics

That's the problem really. With netrunning and let's be honest, everything else. Berserk and sandi can be just as OP (and boring) depending on how you personally use it. The vanilla balance is atrocious, especially late game.

its kinda like this with most singleplayer RPGs, theyre balanced at first but towards endgame its harder and harder to anticipate how strong the player will be as it can vary widely and often the player cant easily change the character so you almost always end up being too strong or not strong enough.

devs tend to lean on the too strong side because otherwise you might create situations where the game's unbeatable/reached a dead end and because it feels good to become stronger over time.

i kinda had this happen with phantom liberty, started the quest too early and just before the chimera fight when you're swarmed with enemies i couldnt beat them in like 5 attempts playing on very hard. no matter what tactic i tried. so i reloaded an earlier save and went to do PL 10 levels higher with better implants.

Compared to other games, I think CP77 is one of the few where the fact that the protagonist becomes an unbeatable war machine is quite believable, and honestly I exploit my autism to use it as a narrative device

if we compare it to other hypothetical mercs only, V has on his side contacts with all the main fixers, who offer numerous jobs, of which V also completes several in the same day
this leads to a much greater economic availability compared to the competition, access to better chrome
regarding cyberware, I think V is truly "built different", or at least thanks to Relic it seems to have a greater tolerance of cyberpsychosis

this at least justifies it on a narrative level for me: the fact remains that the late game combat is extremely boring

V has nothing left to lose and everything to gain. That is why Cyberpunk's story works from a ludonarrative standpoint. The whole game is one big blaze of glory, it doesn't matter if V drops dead tomorrow as long as they did it on their own terms. V gave up the quiet life as soon as they took Dex's offer. It's not that they're any different to other characters, even aside from the relic there's clear parallels between them and Johnny -- the whole Arasaka raid is supposed to reflect this.

V is a killing machine because every mission they take is a suicide mission. Figuratively, they died as soon as they were shot by Dex and V from that moment onwards is learning the same lessons as Johnny, that is: sacrifice. Both characters only go through substantial character development after their "deaths". For V is it figurative, for Johnny it is literal.

In that regard it makes a lot of sense to me why V would be a killing machine.

all cyberpunk world 'main stories' have the same basic points.

True but cyberpunk is exceptionally poorly balanced.
Games like New Vegas allow you to become OP too (if you don't restrict levelcap) but it's still better balanced because there is little that outright breaks the combat. You just have high damage weapons and a big HP bar that trivialize most encounters outside of those designed for endgame, sure. But Cyberpunk takes it a bit too far and some of the skills are simply poorly balanced. Looking at you, spammable dash.

thats true, you can limit the game's power creep by decreasing he range of power levels. the range of possible power levels in NV is not as great as 2077.

as an example a tier 5++ Pulsar SMG does 40 damage a shot, a tier 1 does 9.4. so its an estimated ~400% power creep from starter weapon to endgame weapon. in NV its way less and you can pretty much use most weapons for the entire game. if they made cyberpunk's range of power from starter to endgame say ~200% instead of ~400% you'd feel a lot better matched to the enemies you fight at every stage. this is a very rought estimate ofc

in cyberpunk you have an identical looking gun doing 9 damage per shot and doing 40 damage per shot. this maybe a personal thing of mine but i hate shit like this where identical looking weapons have different stats. this tier system makes no sense and ruins immersion. a lexington should do the same damage on all levels/tiers

the reason they have the current system is so you can play with any weapon at any point as long as you just get a high high tier version of it. im saying they should be -less- variety of valid weapons at any point.

for example you wouldnt go against mechs or smasher using a lexington pistol logically. it would do nothing to them. even as a pistol build you should be forced to use some kind of a high power/penetration weapon for certain fights. where's the way the game is geared now you basically pick the weapon you think looks best and have it as a one size fits all thing.

I get it. Ideally for me, you soft tier weapons (starters - mid - end game) by location or quest rewards. Then you'll likely end up with more weapons overall. But the starter weapons would become useless and that's okay. To grab to NV again, they even solved this by adding uniques like the Ratslayer, which can remain viable throughout the game, if you build for it.

I'm slowly turning things down since that webm but I wanted the full HUD to get back in the groove of things since I haven't played for months. Probably won't turn off everything all the time. Something I would pursue in other games too, but the HUD feels more natural in Cyberpunk due to the optics.

The only thing I have on atm are the waypoints and quest marker on screen, everything is gone and I'd say the game is a lot more enjoyable without all the clutter, even driving is better without that useless minimap.

I'm almost ashamed to admit I use it as my soliton radar for sneaking. I turned off all the waypoints and markers on screen and slammed everything on the minimap (and they show up on screen when using the scanner so I can find loot faster).

idk maybe its less apparent on compressed video than actually playing it but its very very good IMO. im glad the new cyberpunk will run on this engine instead of trying to make their own engine this frees up a lot of time and resources for the actual content instead of messing around with technical shit.

i guess i want a more 'hardcore' less run-and-gun experience. reminds me of the early quests in witcher 3 where you have to research the creatures you're expecting to fight and craft weapon oils they are weak to and special potions for the encounter. what if for a fight against an 'assault in progress' of maelstorm gang members you had to buy EMP grenades and AP ammo or use a high penetration gun like the maxtec achilles gun. where's against gangs with more organic/soft bodies (idk.. valentinos i guess) you could use hollow points but AP would over penetrate and do low damage. im talking about shit like this.

with the game as is i basically treat all gangs/corps as the same and fight them the same way. it would be cool if you had to change up tactics and weapons depending on who you're facing. the only think im doing now is electric damage to robots but other than that i use all other damage types on all human enemies.

I see and while that would be cool for Cyberpunk, it's harder to fit in an RPG with stats and the like I guess. Even the Witcher couldn't keep the research mechanic going for long, even on deathmarch.
The way you describe it, your own growth curve should come from building experience, research and getting better gear, not gaining levels. Does Stalker 2 even do perks, levels or anything?

I don't feel like I'm being pulled away from the world by the minimap but I see your point. I glance at it to find where I need to go and when I'm ghosting a gig and I lost track of an enemy. You have to spot them first before they get put on the minimap so the world remains the primary focus because there's always the ones you missed. I don't use Ping.

You mean the boxes itself? You can make the icons go way with limited hud mod.

While great, Jacky is another slightly undercooked. You can't really care because he's not around enough before you lose him. You just hadn't gotten attached. That montage cutscene is to weak and should have been playable content for his death to really matter.

as for the progression in stalker 2 it has progression in armor suits (15% reduction on starter suit, 80% on endgame suit) and weapons where later weapons have more 'penetration' with the same ammo and so do more damage. what i actually liked about that game is when leaving base you have a limited weight of weapons/ammo/food/meds you can take so you need to either anticipate what you'll have to face or improvise along the way.

there's barely any places you have to do this in 2077. i can only think of two
>when the scavs trick you with a fake BD and you wake up naked in the same apartment where they held dorsett with just your implants/perks and no gear
>phantom liberty stadium mission where you have to give away your guns and have to fight for a bit without them
but most of the time you have infinite heals,infinite grenades and carry 20 guns and practically infinite ammo around with you
