Walk around his t1 tower grab wave aggro and drag it behind your t1 tower to meet the next coming wave, aggro deny there and if you wanna sweat extra hard keep drawing aggro. Gets you two waves if done well and usually players don't know how to react to it til higher ranks. Can also just pick someone that can push the wave out so as not to interact with him

Dark seer late game is worse than 6 slotted am and spectre on the same team its a nightmare if he has aoe surge with shard and can keep 4 ion shells up with bloodstone basically unkillable and max speed shiva and refresher phew its unreal how a pos 3 scales better than multiple heroes and on top if you have heroes like morph or am on your team you're extra fucked because the illusions are mini bosses
even with only 4-5 items you begin to get absurdly strong and unmanagable to deal with

Depends what you're up against. In a perfect game you'll be up against melee cores or some dumb cunt drow and you should go shiva and then dagger if needs be heal boots or whatever your team needs.
Depending on the game and stuff bloodstone if you have uptime on multiple ion shells like if ur team has ursa or slark or something like that
From there you can build refresher if its good for the game or whatever you need or want sphere hex or whatever.
Shiva is by far the best item on the hero because of surge, you can close the distance and kite someone and run him down
Also a reminder that illusions have aura so heroes like sf and necro and alch who usually goes radiance are extra cancer because you can surge and shell them and run supports down or just dog their carry

hello anons, I'm the guy upgrading his pc, in case anyone ever wanted to know:
5700x3d + gtx 1070 and I get 220 fps in late game that dips to 190 in heavy teamfights with lowest settings
and my ram still isn't fully tuned, my trfc is complete shit and I'm only at 3600mhz, I just got bored of reseting the bios and trying to lower the timings for hours
anyway if you're thinking about upgrading the cheapest x3d chip is the best investment you could ever make

how dumb do you have to be to have thousands of matches and not understand that this game has some amount of variance regardless of your performance? I have beaten immortals and gotten beaten by archons, because the game is variable depending on your team and picks.
I have met people who have played thousands of matches, but still will freak out if they lose one and blame everyone like a little kid. Or they will win a game and pretend that they are extremely skilled and that the one(1) win unequivocally proves their godliness.

I've been playing dota on and off across the years, got 50 hours total but I have no idea what to do. This is the least newfag-friendly game on the market, even if I hit Master in league. On the other hand league has become so casualized (it has always been more casual compared to dota, but now even more so) it's unplayable due to all the mouth breathing normalniggers hitting emerald+ abusing the new champions. New blood is always nice but I'm hesitant to recommend it to people because of the steep learning curve. If you're coming from league, it might not be as bad.

As I always recommend, go do the tutorial even if the game lets you skip it. Don't check the "I played Dota or other MOBAs before button", and find the tutorial in the Learn tab at the top. A couple of them might be bugged out but otherwise, do every single one before you even start queuing games. Except the co-op bots one. That one is dead. But do all the other game mechanic ones.

Key differences between league and dota I would say are:
- You lose gold for dying (technically only unreliable gold, but that's a detail you can worry about later)
- You can deny creeps, and it's a big part of the early game
- You can't spell spam to last hit as much as league.
- Stacking creep waves isn't a thing.
- Towers aren't OP so people can tower dive or push towers early. You have to protect them as much as they protect you
- It's Defense of the Ancients, not 5v5 brawler simulator, so while kills and shit gets you gold for items, at the end of the day, you have to break the enemy base to win.
- Laning requires a lot more aggression. Most shitters just sit back and soak exp like pussies. That's a big noobtrap and easy way to spot LoL players you can abuse.
- Game isn't solved 5 minutes in by Koreans. Even within patches, the meta changes rapidly when somebody discovers a new fotm strat, and then it changes again when somebody comes up with a counter, etc. To be fair, Koreans don't play dota because of Riot's anti-Dota embargo but that's a separate issue

I'm not that bad mechanically I think, but the lane management is completely different than in league. I've hit Master in league (0.5% players) and I want to grind Dota now. Denying isn't that much of a problem, but the "flow" of the game is something I can't understand at all.

I've had a few games in Dota where I played pos3 (which is the closest to League's toplaner) and I got a bunch of kills on lane, tp'd to some teamfights but I started falling off later on and couldn't do shit anymore. I think I've played Centaur Warrunner
Certainly all those issues will be solved once I put in more hours into the game but so far I'm just clueless

Oh the one thing I forgot about because I don't think about it, is that in League, my understanding is that level differences are fucking huge. You gain a level over an enemy and you just automatically win the lane because the stat gulf is huge. In Dota, that's not much of a thing, what matters is skill points not the stats, so you can always die and then give the enemy comeback exp. So winning lane isn't enough to win the game, you need to keep farming, and keep pushing objectives so the enemy doesn't have a chance to bounce back.

You could also just watch some pro games if there are some going on and ask in thread. There's going to be some people who are anti-social negative bitches but tune them out. Somebody's usually willing to explain as long as you're not an argumentative faggot about it.

Power levels fluctuate A LOT in dota compared to league, usually having an item advantage in league just makes you do more damage/take less scaling with ap/ad and mr/armor. Dota's items are much more complex and make so certain hero's timings make them exponentially stronger/harder to deal with. You really only learn most of those by playing tho take your time unlocking ranked and checking heroes out.

You're not going to figure out the game in a couple games. Even if you're a league vet, you'll need a few hundred hours before you will be remotely ready for ranked. Centaur is fine, he's not particularly meta rn and Magnus is, a better hero that fills a similar role to centaur like tide was probably banned. If you wanna be an offlaner I recommend you check out Enigma, he's iconic, reliable ( is good in almost every patch ) and scales really well. His units can be finnicky as a new player but he's really not particularly micro heavy.

Just keep in mind one tricking really isn't a thing here, iirc league matchups are usually lane related and often not game interactions but getting countered in dota can be much worse than some of the worst league matchups like yorick into irelia, broodmother into earthshaker or any healing character into aa/doom are rancid.

His dewarding is good but is something that a 50g sentry can do and he doesn't do damage without items as a pos 5 he will go oom after very few spells and die quickly just as what happened in the Talon vs Avulus game, Zeus got off 4 spells at most and never even killed anyone even when they were low hp not to mention as a magic damage hero it means his damage will scale poorly and have little impact by mid game

undervolted my cpu -20 milivolts and it went from 70c celsius max to 60c while playing the game, crazy, I was pretty bummed out that I lost the silicon lottery and my cpu doesn't boot at -30, but I'm happy now
I also set 200 fps max instead of 240 because it's simply unnecessary, in fact 160 fps is probably the maximum you can actually see any difference, should've bought a ultrawide 160hz monitor instead of this 1080 240hz, oh well

He's one of the easiest ranged offlaners in the game, teaches you to not overplay your hand early and play for your power spikes ( level 3 doubles your q damage ). It's a great hero for learning the game as you can learn about creep aggro + orb walking with your q and its a nice one to have in your hero pool since it has a break.

He's a fine midlaner but he's more of an offlaner in higher brackets. Just press q instead of toggling it and auto attacking to not draw creep aggro, and don't dump all your mana level 1/2 you're one of the hardest hitting early game heroes in the game and your level 3 is a big part of it.

Somewhat, you select 4 heroes you in the hero tab and one of them is picked every game iirc. So that target banning isn't a real thing, spammers can get countered through normal picks one tricking can be more punished.

Personally, I only needed to upgrade Cooldown Reduction, Aegis, and Attack lv 2 to beat Echelon 7 with a max Knife build.

You can beat Echelons 1-6 with 0 upgrades with the braindead Spirits build. So git gud and beat the easy shit and farm gold. You should get like 3k+ gold on a full run.
