>>511263267A lot of people compare it to DDLC, so much so that I think through hearsay, people just assume it is a lot like that, when in reality, the two share very little similarities. The only things they really have in common are a cute anime girl facade, with some meta and psychological horror elements. Though, MiSide is more straight-horror, and DDLC was more meta and psychological, but both had a cute anime girl manipulating things behind the scene.
That said, I do have to wonder something. What if MiSide played the early part of the game a lot more like how DDLC did? I mean, the entire first half of DDLC straight up WAS a standard visual novel, with branching routes for the girls and it was played almost entirely straight. There are some very small hints that there was something more going on, that really only stand out in hindsight, and people went in knowing it was supposed to be SOME sort of horror game, but first 3-4 hours the game plays completely normal. People were on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it took a while before it did.
So I wonder how different MiSide would feel if the early Tamogachi style game was a much longer segment. Wouldn't have to be half of the game, but I wonder if it between 1-2 hours or something, where you interacted with Crazy Mita more, played more minigames with/for her, maybe bought her more gifts and trinkets, and just had more interaction with her to really get you more attached to her before you end up getting pulled into the game.
