I‘m not saying they are fated lovers either, Reanfans are delusional too. As are Vanfans. It‘s okay to ship whoever you want, but you have to be aware if it’s realistic or not. Van will either end up with Elaine (hopefully) or Agnes (he doesn’t deserve her after rejecting her, she should dump him) and Rean will either end up alone or with Altina.
What’s dumb is to fight each other for their shipping when BOTH is unrealistic. Yes Rean and Shizuna may never happen, but the same goes for Van and Shizuna.

Didn't Kondo say they extended Shizuna's presence and role in Kuro 2 because she was extremely popular and they wanted her to be in the main party? I think falcom takes polls pretty seriously, but not to the point where they'll completely rewrite the entire game to fit the needs of the fans.

Kuro 2 was literally made to extend Ys x development time. I can't call Kuro 2 a complete filler, but falcom needed to stretch the game as much they could so they gave more screentime to the characters who didn't have enough screentime in the first Kuro.

Kuro 1 had a few loose ends with the 8th genesis and the new <<C>>. The problem is that it became an entire game instead of an expansion or a DLC. Ideally the whole 8th genesis and Grendel Zolga storyline should've been the prologue for Kai which feels like the real sequel, Kuro 2 feels like a stretched extension to Kuro 1.

I’d like Van more if they didn’t give him such a lame weapon and a cheap version of Rean’s power. And why does he keep acting so… weirdly gay? It feels kinda random. On top of that, he comes off like a side character most of the time. Rean had his own journey, and we got to see it develop from the beginning. But Van? What does he even bring to the table? It’s like everything was just handed to him, and it doesn’t feel as earned.

Rean fails for me because his interactions with other characters are just dull and lifeless. Vans place in the story is a complete mishandled mess but the way he interacts with people is way more fun and consistently entertaning than Rean and that's what matters to me.

"cheap" lmao, Van is a literal demon lord while rean got ishmelga aids through osborne's heart. Van powers are different in nature and they explore different aspects of Zemuria, demons were prevalent since sky 3rd so Van's powers and existence are relevant to the overarching plot.

We know that Kondo didn't even really want to include Rean in any Calvard game so far so his stuff in Kai was made up for Kai and was not planned.

Aaron thinks Shizuna is annoying to deal with, so he wants Van to deal with her because frankly he's the only one who can keep up with her. Crow just doesn't want to fight and keep his boyfriend safe from her, so he wants Van to "make her understand".

When are we realistically going to see Kai 2? Kondo says that he knows that he can't make people wait too long but then he also says at the shareholder meeting that they only just started planning the game. Also with TX2 having to come out some time soon I'm worried that Kai 2 won't get the resources that it needs. After 3 build up games Falcom really have to go all out for Kai 2 or this arc is just completely wasted and I'm really worried that they'll just half ass it.

I think it's for the best, I'd rather they plan out the game than shit it out half finished again. They probably already started the development and writing the script with a smaller team.

Kondo said they'll put all the manpower and the resources on Kai's sequel after they finish the development with Sky remake, idk how tx2 will tie into this...

Kai didn't really feel low effort, they reworked bunch of crafts, improved shaders and animations and made bunch of mocap fights. They already have most of the assets from Kai, so they only need to finish the story and make more well animated fights.

I tried Ys X because someone here recommended it a while ago. It was fun at first but quickly got boring compared to Kiseki since the protagonist barely feels like they have a personality. Silent protagonists just feel flat after Kiseki... Adol and Karja were okay, but they got boring quick. I liked when Adol actually talked, though, it gave him more personality. Also, the translations were kinda bad (why I avoid NISA), so that might’ve made it feel off. I only played Celceta once and didn’t love it, so maybe Ys just isn’t for me. Oh, and the combat wasn’t great either... Tbh. The story was okay, but I don’t think I’ll finish it.

I really liked Ys X combat and boss fights is where X truly shines, but the pacing and the story were pretty bad. Most of the characters did nothing for me, outside of Karja and the ship combat was meh. OST is also pretty weak, but the final boss fight ost and context was pure kino.

I don't mind him, but his inclusion in Kai was pretty mediocre, his route is just pure shounen wank with no value to the story outside of that conversation with Shizuna about 8 leaves and black god and that Shizuna's role is protect the world from being destroyed.

Yes, because it wasn't important back then. In CS4, Cassius tells Rean Yun sent him a letter about his imprisonment. He's been connected to weird time shit and knowing more then he should since before Kuro started.

8 starts out good but gets worse with every reveal about the island. The combat was dull and repetitive, the boss fights were unmemorable and half the characters are jank and unfun to play. At least it had one of the last good Falcom OSTS but it's honestly one of the most overrated Falcom games.
