This is a perfect example of how shit blizzard is at doing even the most basic of things.
Like there must be over 100 iconic amazing looking locations you could use as a background across the world like karazhan or ashenvale or westfall or whatever. Basically a static image that would take 5 seconds to implement.
Yet it takes blizzard 6+ months to release 4 and they're all uninspired spots.

Yeah i've been saying this since the start. Did you think it would be usable everywhere?
This has been mocked for a reason, cause obviously it's a really shitty system, you don't even have to play it to know that it can only be used in one zone and is just a ground mount that slides like it's on ice. It's garbage the only reason this even exists is for them to copy paste dragonriding challenges but on the ground to simulate a discount mario kart.
You can only do it on the one car mount that will have very limited customization so everyone's car will look the same also.

The whole thing is lame and cringe.

Champion's spear is just worse than thunderous roar pretty much all the time for all 3 warrior specs due to the fact they're both so similar except one locks you in place or can be wasted and the other one doesn't.

So let me get this straight, they charged a premium for early access to a sub based game with box price + expansion box price + cosmetics + buying gold + paying for basic account services AND right after that they then reskinned a prestigious limited time mount gave it P2W functionality charged $90 for it and you all still stay and play?
All of this for an expansion with less new features and worse graphics compared to expansions from almost 10 years ago.

I primarily just heal pugs all day. Mistweaver is my absolute favourite, I've also enjoyed Shaman and Preservation this season and got them all to 635+. Resto Druid I absolutely despise because of the amount of ramping involved and how hard it is to catch up if you fail to ramp.

Holy paladin might be familiar territory if you are used to mistweaver, it basically fistweaves. It's aoe healing is kind of sporadic and a pain to use though

Disc priest is like a ranged fistweaver but If you don't set up buffs before damage comes in it can get btfo in a hurry so you need to be kind of predictive and preemptive with your casts

Holy priest is similar to resto shaman without all the frills and utility. Very pared back simple kit, push button get heal gameplay, but that also makes it quite easy to play too. A fully talented halo Holy build is fucking cool though with the constant in and out waves of Holy light

Thanks fren. I heard Holy Paladin has had a lot of revamps and I haven't touched it since doing leveling dungeons a long time ago. If it's fistweaving then I'll be sure to check it out. From what I recall Holy Power was kind of a pain in the ass, you had to constantly spam it on SOTR for 0 damage just to prevent overcapping.

Disc Priest so far seems ok but it's hard to tell during TW dungeons because everything dies so fast. The setup is a bit clunky compared to MW where you pretty much just stomp and then you're good to go.

holy power is still a bit of a pain yeah, mistweaver definitely does the whole melee healer more easily and effectively.

the basic gameplay loop is you will be in melee pretty much 100% of the time. judgement and crusader strike on cooldown to build holy power, holy shock either as spot healing or damage as needed, its output is kinda crap but its a builder. you spend your holy power on word of glory, even in aoe situations. getting everyone to actually line up and be in range for a light of dawn is like herding cats and the throughput isnt that great. better to hit beacon of virtue which will spread your single target healing to the whole party for like 8 seconds. beacon of virtue is your main aoe button, use it as often as you can.

divine toll and holy prism are medium short cooldowns that are aoe party heals. make sure to use divine prism with a harm macro, the way it works is if you hit an enemy it will heal the whole party, if you target an ally it will instead hit enemies for damage which isnt usually how you want to use it. divine toll will also empower your next few holy shocks.

avenging crusader is what makes the spec work. a 1 min CD super sayan mode that turns your judgment and crusader strike into a massive aoe group heals. when this button activates you basically just want to spam those 2 skills for its full duration, the throughput is quite high.

infusion of light is also an important proc to track, and paired with holy light its a big single target heal that can put out a lot, and gets magnified into an aoe heal via beacon of virtue as well. without infusion you dont want to cast it, but with infusion its very strong.

blessing of sacrifice is your tank CD or if you need to save an ally, and lightsmith gets a second version of this with its armament damage splitting. lightsmith pairs well with the avenging crusader playstyle. herald of the sun is more HoT focused and less aggressive.

also idk how recently you played, this isnt exactly new new, but they have a talent called shining righteousness which makes your filler shield of the righteous casts actually do kind of okay damage to a single target. without it SotR will hit like crap but with that it doesnt actually feel awful to press if you just need dps filler. worth considering

Thanks for the QRD. Last time I played Avenging Crusader was an option but it was very weak, having to spend 3 HP and a 1 minute CD to LARP as a weak Mistweaver for a few seconds. Seems like the coefficient on it is a lot higher now. Shame it doesn't affect SOTR. I think SOTR would be cool if it also shat out some minor heals the way Rising Sun Kick does. I remember it feeling quite bad to spend all my HP on SOTR only for someone to get clipped right away and I had nothing to heal them with.

I'll be blasting my Disc Priest and Holy Pally 70-80 today regardless.

check out the timewalking buff if you do. there's an event going on where if you complete 4 timewalking dungeons in a row on a single character, you get a 30% XP bonus to monsters and quests, which may help speed that up. complete it 4 or 5 weeks in a row and you get the new bee mount.

as far as SotR goes on Hpal, it feels like its honestly been pushed out of the spec almost entirely except as filler during downtime, and that the spec has been refocused around judgement, crusader strike, and word of glory almost entirely. i dont hate it, mistweaver is definitely smoother but Hpal does feel like it packs a whallop during its high points. plus i feel a bit safer in melee with a suit of full plate and a shield between me and the enemy lol

the biggest downside for me of Hpal that fistweaver doesnt have is that Hpal has gaps in its aoe. beacon of virtue is an 8 sec duration on a 15 sec CD. prism is 30 sec CD, av crusader is 1 min CD, divine toll is a 45 sec cd talented. all of this combines to create these weird little 5-10 second gaps where you may just not have an aoe button or option to press. not often, but it does happen, and that can kinda leave you scrambling to patch this up with single target heals or try to aim a light of dawn and pray everyones close enough for it. with the way this season just seems to be constantly blasting out group wide healchecks, it can feel a bit spotty, but proper spacing of the cooldowns and being mindful of the beacon of virtue gap should get you through it, Hpals are doing okay in the meta, more just a little gameplay quirk to watch out for

disc i've only played into heroics so that i can comment a lot less on except to say that most people seem to be leaning into the voidweaver/mindbender gameplay right now, which focuses on maximizing your voidwraith uptime with void summoner and inescapable torment.

There should be a talent that triggers damage or healing when you overcap or something. That is certainly something MW excels at. Between Sheilun's, cleave Lightning, Revival, Chi-ji you are never without a way to spam big AOE heals. Hell even just a max stacks Blackout Kick heals the whole party for ~30%.

Is Blessing of Summer still a mandatory pick? Seems like a pain in the ass but it doesn't look like anyone plays the passive healing aura thing.

The reason the First Ones exist from a narrative point has already been stated before. no it doesnt provide like an overshield or a buff. if your parties topped off you can SotR. it does feel like a spec that is still in the middle of a transformation, like they've found this new melee hammer beating burst healer identity but they havent fully completed the vision yet so there's lots of little odds and ends like SotR just kind of being a filler damage button that doesnt do anything.

if they really wanted to make it sing they would add some kind of healing component to SotR similar to what fistweaver does with rising sun kick, weather thats spinning out a few free heals or maybe granting party members a shield to prevent some damage or maybe SotR buffs your next judgement to splash some healing, idk, something to tie it more into the rotation other than just "you have nothing you need to do, push shield to contribute some damage"

they're getting there but the spec does still feel a bit WIP. there's also a weird divide between its raid and M+ rotations being almost complete opposites of each other rotationally.

blessing of summer is still used by most people, like 99%. if you dont want to track it, you could create an [@player] macro for each of the seasonal blessings and lump them into a judgment macro so it just auto casts on you when you cast judgement and just forget about it. probably a bit suboptimal but you'll get 100% uptime with 0% thought or micromanaging since its off the GCD.

Yeah, it was probably annoying for any new writer to basically jump into at a point where all the big mysteries were solved, everyone had a hard canon set of choices they had to swear by and stuff. Sure retconning the Chronicles to be from a Titans POV was a very controversial thing to do at the time, but from a writers point of view something as restrictive as Chronicles, written by people who no longer are writing for the game, nor even at the company certainly feels like chains you're just stuck with.

The actual shit that matters (gear progression, dungeons, raids) is getting better. Torghast was a rare example of something good in SL, and even then people hated it at the time because it didn't reward gear and they were expecting Horrific Visions 2.0. As an actual roguelike mode it was fantastic and far better than Delves, but most people were just there for their leggo upgrade dust so it felt like a chore. Delves are tragically unfun but people defend them because they drop gear for little effort.
