When was Radahn kind? Redmane Castle was highly likely to be a castle he conquered and killed the previous owners. There's a siege tower outside and tons of rotting bodies inside. Hanging everywhere are Banished Knight and Exile Soldier equipment, notably forces Radahn never uses and only Godrick or unaffiliated use, in positions clearly meant as trophies and not for grabbing as weapons incase of intruders.

I think Godrick held Redmane Castle before Radahn took it (probably inherited from Godfrey), and O'Neill was one of his men. From there, O'Neill hated Radahn so much that he celebrates Radahn's men getting scarlet rot nuked and camps at the scarlet aeonia spot.

Radahn definitely liked colosseum shit. The 3 PVP Arenas are located in Godrick's land, the capital, and Radahn's land. All 3 idolize or respect Godfrey. Liurnia had no reason to have one, Rykard and the twins had no reason either. All the arenas have symbols like this paying homage to Godfrey. Freyja was an ex-gladiator so there's no way Radahn didn't enjoy gladiator games too.

So it either existed pre-Shattering or Radahn had it built there. Whatever happened, he didn't order it demolished. My guess is with the Caelid Colosseum so far from Radahn's place, they lost/abandoned it but still had to have gladiator games thus Lion Guardians vs slaves in your picture.

As you progress, bell bearings give you access to buying lower ranks of smithing stones and sombers. Towards the end of the game, you can buy anything except the ultimate upgrade stones... And those are limited to 21 per each playthrough.

Yeah it is unfortunate. I didn't like that it was just the biggest of 3 different versions of FF confetti while the starter spell in that line remains the best to use.
Madding Hand weapon art being a cartoonish handshake gone wrong was fun though. And next leveling the ganksquad in the dlc with inescapable frenzy was lulzy.

i just wanted to see the ending for the frenzied flame because I never did it yet. I used all the madness themed weapons only once getting them - vyke's spear, madding hand, ff seal, and the midra torch.
It was the same as any other faith build it just replaced golden vow with the madness buff. DLC was a little rough sometimes because madness is a fire build and half the DLC is fire resistant.

Seeing the slight changes to the story once you get to the giant's kiln was pretty cool.

Why do overhaul mods just make the boss have combos twice as long, with 1/4th of the recovery time, perfect tracking and everything has an AoE slapped onto it to the point where if you want to survive through it without wanting to kill yourself you need to play ultra passively and light roll through every attack (don't even think about using anything else) instead of adding cool fun stuff for the player to figure out?

I don't want to get into it in a giant 100 post thing explaining it all but long story short is the twinbird of death was most likely a phoenix type thing that "rebirthed" itself from inside that giant dragon with the gaping hole in it.
Deathbird iconography pairs red and gold together deliberately and you can even make some cosplay sets that look like a phoenix that pair the red and blue (and subsequently purple).
It isn't an accident that that area has 2 overlapping plains each having red or blue flowers.
That is why there is a deathbird guarding Charo's hidden grave (charo is the name of rheas (a type of bird) in spanish, Charo as a name in spanish religious connotations and the deathbird stuff is a religion based on funeral rites).

Nah miquella's "purple" is actually velvet coloration. Gloam Eyed Queen was just the empyrean associated with the twinbird of death, not the god itself.
That said, Miquella's god is never specified or alluded to so it being the twinbird reborn into something new is possible, but doubtful. His eternal age of compassion isn't quite similar to what was going on with the burial rites stuff associated with the twinbird and ghostflame. For all we know Miquella is godless as he found his own divinity by sidestepping the elden ring system entirely. Instead of being supplicant to a god but being known as the god to the people he just said fuck it and became the god himself.

in das1, you could resist 1h greatswords with as little as 36 poise(max possible was 161), and rolling through hits meant your poise was still damaged and therefore vulnerable

meanwhile in elden ring, you can't poise through a 1h dagger unless you have 41 poise (max possible is 133) and poising through something as trivial as a 1h axe isn't possible at all, making hyperarmor ashes like storm stomp insanely valuable

the fucked up distribution of poise means that it has zero effect unless you go full metagolem with verdigris/scaled set which is dogshit

You can get close to 80% resist with 25 end and 16/17 scadus.

If you're sticking strictly with PvE, the fire scorpion talisman given you are using fire infusion, in DLC areas its defense cut is utterly nuked by skibidi too. If you use your L2 a lot though you can't go wrong with shard of alexander.

People wanted volcano manor to have different gameplay functions because it is a "covenant area" and would work perfectly as an invaders can invade even if solo area.

The big problem for me is the boss, before and after nerfs, just isn't fun at all. Gitting gud at O&S means learning to use positioning to separate the bosses and use the environment to create attack windows. Somebody needs to take Yamamura by the shoulders and shake him violently while screaming that he can't just stamp the same boilerplate game design onto every project he touches with no consideration for how its underlying mechanics service the gameplay. Narrow design worked for Sekiro because it served to force you to clash swords with your foe in a back and forth rhythm-based exchange, but if you deny players the option to approach an open-ended ARPG the way they want, they will just drink the Ironjar Elixir and make you look like a fool.

You know one thing that really disappointed me? Nobody cares in the base game. Nobody. Gideon has no new dialogue asking about the DLC. Malenia doesn't care. The previous games all had some connection.

If you complete Artorias of the Abyss before fighting Sif, Sif recognizes you and you get a new cutscene. Crown of the Sunken King adds using the Ashen Mist Heart on Vendrick's clothes and talking to him. The Doll has new dialogue about Gehrman sleeping better after killing Orphan of Kos. If you have Friede's Soul when talking to Yuria, she comments about it.

Nobody, even if they ought to be curious, cares anything about the DLC's events.

This dialogue is pretty confusing but the way I interpret it is Ranni essentially wants agnosticism or atheism in the Lands Between where the people there don't worship a higher power but are still controlled by one. She wants the order to not be something that is studied or worshipped but something that quietly conducts peoples lives without them even knowing it.

I honestly stopped caring once I realized that the dlc consists of unreasonable Hp bloat and it basically forces you to level up 50 extra levels compared to the base game.

WHY the fuck didn’t they just keep it at the same level as the end-game base game? It shouldn’t have been tougher or more bloated than the Haligtree.

It also prevents earlier co-op areas since you’re no over levelled to the point where no one will ever summon you.
