Campaign was fun but my god is the “mapping” unfun, no matter what endgame activity you choose wether its trials or maps it all carries the same penalty of if you die you lose it all, nobody has a chance to gear up to survive, and those that do are hoovering up all the loot and dictating the price of the gear that would allow one to survive endgame, this is really really shit game design

i did stampede for a little bit during earlier maps and i didn't really like how it felt like i was always getting stuck on stuff, i may give it a shot again now that i'm able to farm breaches

warbringer has a little more survivability and is better at minmaxing some skills/combos. one of the top warrior players on ladder has played both and says it really comes down to preference because both are good.

The one shots kill my interest in the game. When they happen in the middle of a session it's whatever but when I start playing and get one shot within the first few maps I lose all interest. In some way I'm glad poe2 isn't as addictive as poe1 because I would spend way too much time on it

So... If I trigger self harm through Infernal Stacks, does that trigger recoup? And how much does the recoup give me? If I have Ghostwrithe, does it take my health before it being cut as the % base? So, lets say I cut my health with Ghostwrithe, Mings and one of the Ascendancies that reserve health, is it my max health before all of this? Basically allowing me to stack health and get Recoup from my original max health, while still allowing me to do a "low life" Demon Form Witch, so the dot only does minimal damage while I'm healing for over 1k a second, allowing me to keep my form almost indefinitely.

Fire spells don't really have bad damage efficiency in themselves. Ignite is by far and away the worst elemental ailment though and no ascendancy really supports it well, Infernalist only gets one node that actually supports it and not particularly well. They might be okay without any direct buffs once we get an ascendancy that seriously contributes to fire.

These two points are my biggest issues with how the games mechanics have been setup thus far. Enemies move way too fast, god forbid you find a hasted mob or have any sort of monster speed on your instance. Playing a ranged that can't instantly delete the screen makes the entire experience a chore, enemies come from off screen and are in your face faster than you can reload a crossbow or even click on them, it goes against the entire idea of what they wanted to do with the combat system. Oh yeah, let's not forget how fucking silly breach and ritual are, it's not even combat anymore.

I liked this coming in but in practice it fucking sucks, maybe it's because we are missing tons of support gems and it will get better later on but right now there are so few useful supports you jam them into your main skill and you have nothing left for the rest.

Yeah. I like the ideas behind the new gem system honestly, it's about the only thing in PoE2 that I think is better than how PoE1 handled it, but it just isn't there right now. When you look at the best builds in the game, one of their qualities is simply that they make very good use of limited support gems. Like a lot can cut their skills down to one button that the best gems get stuck on, but in some cases they're good because they can afford to spread gems out effectively which is the case for bell invokers.

Lightning anything is egregious because its viable gem pool is so much deeper than anything else in the game. Physical runs out of gems after one fucking ability.

Yeah, pretty much. The Ascendancy itself isn't bad... but Titan only really has Hulking Form and the 15% more life if you don't want to use armor or slams going for it. Hulking Form is definitely powerful, but it doesn't make up for being entirely mace based, which we all know, mace is shit.

Warbringer has the Block Nodes, which are okay, but that's two nodes for one defensive layer, which isn't even the best defensive layer.
Shouts are decent, but heavily linked to Melee again with a lot of mace skills working in tandem with it. Totems which are okay, but nothing amazing, and a very shitty defensive that locks you in place. Plus armor break, which isn't the best.

And Mace + Armor are so shit, that no one really wants to use them other than die hard Warrior fags, who make videos claiming they're amazing only to see clear speeds that are a fraction of anyone else.

Get more ES, it's way easier than life. You literally cannot die to any normal boss. Don't take the increased damage bait, you only need a few. Route to your key passives and invest the rest in ES.

I don't really care for metroidvanias. I like Animal Well though. Only Chinese game I thought was neat was Amazing Cultivation Simulator and it's a rimworld derivative with some original features. I know at some point they'll do something I love but so far it's mostly small budget wuxia action games, wukong and gacha none of which have impressed me

Works on my machine. I can proc CoI offf of one PS on a blue. Sometimes I get two for one.
You may need to unsocket and resocket then re-enable the spirit gem, sometimes it goes funny and you'll see a 0% on the top left that just doesn't go up because something went out of sync.

It had crafting with special 3:1 recipes that people had to to figure out using synethesised pieces. One i remember was 3 light radius maces combined to make an explode implicit mace.

There was also cortex and an alternative endgame mapping system where you created bridges to other areas with increased rewards. It had alot of shit going on and was a pretty high quality league but brainlets suffered alot.

Sorry if it sounds abit vague its like 6+ years ago now so its hard to remember

Energy gain is very slow against white mobs, if you have high energy cap spells slotted in, it will take forever to get a trigger. It's only good against rares and uniques

yes, it changes in real time, if you get somethign that gives you 50% more ES midrun, your honour goes up as well

You've already got amazing survivability for a WH. There's probably nothing to do except not get hit in the first place.
Depending on your build specifics you might be able to opt for a dress and going harder into evasion at the cost of your other layer though just because armor is so weak.

I fixed rolling slam.
Hold button to charge up an attack, while moving, release the button to do a short leap forward into a roll and perform a timed heavy attack.
Two button ability, hold into a second click for extra damage.

They clearly want maces to be the slowest wrapon type in the game. To make up for it, the abilities need to have mechanics to them.

Earthquake for example, make it like a 20 second duration and each slam you do inside of it boosts the damage of the earthquake.
Add a new mace ability. Copy the attack the large mutant boss in the graveyard does, just stand still and slam your mace wildly around you, a channeling spell.

Iron reflexes and health stack / max res stack.

eva+ armor is the worst defensive stat for slams cause eva doesnt work for it and armor would be too low value to negate when splitting defences like that it because the higher the attack relative to armor the less effective armor is (assuming its physical right).
Armor is OK if you health stack and stack max resists (use jewels and those 4 points at bottom of merc tree). They synergize off of each other. Think of it this way, you have 100 HP and an enemy always does 10 damage, so you would die in 10 hits, but with just 50% damage reduction you die in 20 hits, double effective survivability. Its kinda like that at endgame. boss attack does 14k, player has 6k health, with high armor player only takes 40% of it so player can barely survive the attack that 1 shots others, and when you survive you just use a health potion, you dont have to wait a second or two while avoiding all damage like ES, not saying its better than ES but its not all downsides

They have that skill, its called fissure, and its OP as fuck with sunder because sunder causes like 6 slams in a line and every slam triggers the fissure and you can have like 10+ fissures on top of each other you pre made before the boss fight starts and just delete them with 60+ fissure procs going off each attack.

Even if they changed the armor formula to what it is in POE1 (~double the effectiveness) it's still pretty bad for how much you have to invest.
My Titan character has one piece of gear with Energy Shield on it, the Atziri unique helmet that gives ES as a percentage of life, and a couple of ES nodes and it's got 3.5k ES with 1.5k/sec recharge.
With roughly the same amount of passive nodes invested in armor I was getting randomly one-shot by shit in maps, with this I can tank everything.

Asmongoloid said that it felt bad to have to choose between power and better items. having fomo and feeling bad about something is at least a legitimate argument no matter how weak of an argument is, straight up lying about d2 is just lame though.

It was totally a fomo thing and the most disingenuous argument against it in poe2 that i have seen is people bringing up D2 as if MF is the reason why everyone played sorc and not the inflated enemy hitpoints with high armor needing high attack rating and physical damage classes needing very strong weapons to kill stuff at slower speed than a caster in starting gear and the one class that didnt have to deal with that could teleport without cooldown all over the map, but no it was the MF stat that made people pick sorc.

I have a Hexblast Chayula monk at 82 in HCSSF and the clear is really great but single target is lacking.
Leveling through campaign, Contagion with either ED or poisons (or both} is really satisfying to clear with and just deletes entire screens if it can spread.
Maybe some better players have figured out something for single target

They scale with each other so besides the general cop out answer of "depends on your build", each one generally just becomes better when you have more of the other. Crit chance is more reliable if you got no clue what you're doing though since you need it to begin with to make crit damage really scale.

You fucked something up 100%, even on +4 on my similar build, citadel bosses just die without doing anything. And my crossbow is a 10ex one, nothing special, 480 pdps I think maybe less.

I made a build that literally has constantly 5-7 power charges on and has 95% chance to not consume a corpse and I can constantly keep 10 zombies up that are EMPOWERED and they barely do damage and 10 of them can't even all surround a single rare mob to get them all to hit it. They are slow and literally afk all the time while like 5-6 of them actually have the space to attack 1 enemy, also they fucking last 20s base line so you have to spam them all the time. I have nothing but minion levels and damage on my tree and gear and they take literally 40s to kill 1 rare in cruel acts

make sure to talk to kirac. he refreshes his maps once a day after you complete one of his missions. Full clearing maps early on is your main form of sustain. Use alchs on your maps and pick up every unique early on to vendor for alch shards. This isn't PoE 2, you actually get to use your currency.

it's mostly an issue early
you usually start with getting the atlas nodes that increases the chance of maps to drop as higher level
then you swap of those nodes once you have completed majority of maps

I didn't replicate it, I took the crossbow reload speed cluster instead of the "rare/unique monster damage" one, drop the shock duration cluster to get the lightning pen near "Wild Storm" instead
but otherwise our builds are quite similar
