Couldn’t finish my reply about the eternal recurrence theory for X in the /v/ thread, so replying here before this thread dies too
>>>/v/698928653Also, my theory about why the Samaarians look like humans - in X, it’s hinted that the Samaarians actually engineered every single race, not just the Ganglion. As for why the descendants of all the xeno species in NLA end up being regular humans in the end, we know Takahashi likes to recycle ideas from older works into newer ones; in XC3 we see that the people of the City are baseline humans with no weird features despite being descended from fantastical races like High Entia, Machina, Gormotti, Blades etc. This might actually be reused from an unrevealed plot point in the X lore, thus it’d apply to the races in X too
Additionally, over the course of the game we see that the xeno species pick up human traits through their time in NLA - Ma-non become obsessed with pizza, Orphean females are born, in the quest Child of Mira the Zaruboggan Orleron, born in NLA, is explicitly stated to have a humanlike personality and characteristics
These all make me think that all the xenos in NLA actually are or will become humans in the future and then the Samaarians, and that is how organic humans come back, matching the theme in all other Xenos that Earth’s is destroyed, humans go extinct yet come back eventually in a cycle of eternal recurrence
(Humans in X went extinct once the Lifehold was destroyed upon the landing on Mira)Why can’t anyone leave Mira, I’m assuming that the Samaarians, knowing of the eternal recurrence, somehow engineered Mira to be that way to ensure that their ancestors who crash in Mira can’t leave until they descend and evolve into the Samaarians again
TLDR, all the xeno species are or will become human, eventually become the Samaarians and leave Mira. “We’re all the same, even from another world, we don’t belong here anymore” - right there in the lyrics of Don’t Worry
