I haven't finished the campaign yet, instead I have 3 chars (warrior, merc, witch) all in Act 2. Keep on seeing people say that the endgame needs work and I like the campaign so much I might just stay here, gonna roll a ranger tonight. Monk is last, won't play sorc.

My first build was a EE/Contag and I was able to do 3rd ascend but it was a slog and maps felt like cancer above 5.

I really like "builder -> spender" gameplay but I am not sure which class would really scratch that itch. I am currently playing warrior and dabbling with rage and endurance charges but there really isn't a good dump for either. I can't dump all my rage into one big attack. I can't dump all my endurance charges into one big attack etc. In fact, I think how endurance charges operate is kind of weird. The warcries can eat the charges for more exerts and thats it. Can't do anything else with them currently. Its also kind of annoying to build charges when fighting one target. When mapping, I can build them buy using break endurance and whatever armor break skill.

So i have followed these generals for the duration of my stay in PoE2 and i've got to say that bar a couple of outlying autists, everyone else agrees the game is a shit poe1 reskin/expansion. Like not 'it just needs werk' but a literal distillation of all the bad things from poe1. So as a player moving on from the game my questions are two;
1) Why is this all that they have to show after so many years of development?

This is the scepter I'm using,
Other good mods are:
Spirit, but only if it gets you another arsonist
Allies get fire/phsyical damage
Allies do more damage
Allies gain attack speed
Allies gain crit chance/damage

If you see a really good one that has good allies mods but isn't a skeleton warrior scepter, still use it.

Its all the same. Absolutely no reason to hunt for an elemental node if physical or anything else is closer. Unless the game is lying.

Physical damage increases the physical damage portion of skills. Lightning damage increases the lightning. There's some fuckery going on with everything in the game because of how they changed damage formulas. It used to be that physical would also scale the converted portion as well but it doesn't. Only the final damage type is scaled. Which fucks over a lot of skill synergies ironically because of the single support gem limitations. They didn't really think anything through

stun stuff is a bait because it barely affects rares/uniques. white/blue mobs should be dying before being stunned.
aftershock is ok for clear if you stampede, ancestral is kinda ass because you give up either hp or hulking for it.

and obviously adding lightning damage increases the lightning damage
what do you not understand?

also increases are applied after conversions in this game so increased phys will do nothing for you if you convert everything to elemental

I really hope that GGG patches the Mana Cost for Attack Skills.

Seriously, it increasing by 12.5% per Level is absolutely insane. I could potentially get a level 39 Gas Arrow, which would be 100% more than my current level 25 Gas Arrow, but I don't want to because it would make the mana cost go from 145 (which is already steep) to a whooping 713. How the hell am I supposed to sustain 713 Mana per attack? BEFORE THE MULTIPLIERS! Realistically we are looking at 1026 Mana Cost per attack. I don't even HAVE 1026 mana. If I were to run Inspiration, that basically means losing 30% more damage in order to reduce it to 615... Which I could far more easily by simply dropping a few Gem Levels.

i frequently pick up items that i knew would sell for a lot of currency and thats while only picking up bases that my character can use. 35% movespeed boots with multiple over good mods, breach rings with t1 mana + cast speed, helmets with t1 mana, amulets with t1 spirit + minion skills and so on. also a lot of weapons that are close to my weapon and which would sell for multiple divines.
it is however extremely boring and tedious and retarded and shit and boggles the mind how they made a game so bad after 6 years of development time as the studio that made the arpg with the best crafting system. i only played for so long because i found my character very fun to play. looting was always my least favorite part which is a comical thing to say about an arpg

WH's problem is that it's overbalanced and undertuned, it doesn't really have any real design problems. Culling Strike should check after hit damage so it doesn't go dead so often, concentration is currently checked by every boss having a transition so just increase the duration it holds and reduce the damage bonus accordingly, and Sorcery Ward needs to check your defenses at the end of its countdown and stop resetting with every adjustment to your values. Maybe lower its penalty to 40% to bring it in line with Invoker too since it's not like the elemental shield is a clearly better layer or anything right now.

It really doesn't need a big overhaul like Acolyte does, they just arbitrarily fucked it out of the gate and everyone theorycrafted around the assumption that it wouldn't be screwed in every possible way.

Projectile isn't such a big deal surprisingly. A good chunk of the crossbow skills don't really benefit from it and even for the ones that do, while it's a huge damage multiplier, it's still weighed against competing multipliers and whatever riders they have.

What ended up being fucking retarded is how mercenary gets zero support on attack speed on maybe the most attack speed reliant weapon in the game. Tailwind is such a massive boon to playing crossbows, supporting your move while shooting playstyle and improving your reloads while also having its other benefits.

I'm having a good time dealing with rituals using my crossbow/mace+shield gemling (not statstacking but mostly str)
It feels good to put down shield wall as it starts up, frag rounds a few mobs that come close to build up stun then boneshatter to blow up most of the wave. I often kill any rare in there as well. The shield wall pops as well so there's multiple layers of shotgunning. Shield wall is a fairly strong defense against many things when you can set it up. This also works for Expedition though it's much easier because you have more space.

Spell suppression was overtuned and I'm glad it's gone but it wasn't strictly necessary. I've gotten by with spell block or fourth vow set ups in the past. There's practically no way around dealing with boots movement speed right now.

I really feel like the druid is going to be shit. At least shapeshifting druid. I don't think he will have permanent forms either. I think his forms will literally be abilities you use that happen to turn you into a bear or wolf to do the move and then you revert back. In the context of our endgame, I think the corruption burst that atziri released is fucking with entrances into our reality basically. In areas where the corruption is high, beyond creatures can creep in and even breach horrors can creep in so to speak. So the corruption is related to the beast yes, but it could basically just be "unlocking doors" in a way. Which is how beyond shit gets in. I think in PoE1, the last boss of sanctum was basically trying to open the door for beidat.

If you can't scale your damage fast enough it just feels like shit?
Currently doing 476 DPS with mace strike (dual wielding 2-handers + martial tempo) and my totems are doing "76" DPS with brutality. That number doesn't seem to calculate correctly though because it seems like they hit almost as hard as my maces.
All in mid act 2.
No idea what my ancestral spirits do for damage, but they're there.

In all likelihood it'll work like the Infernalist form where it replaces your weapons entirely. This druid damage area is a placeholder right now but it implies that you'll simply scale your forms on non-weapon attack modifiers like raw attack damage, AoE, physical etc.

The demon form got some shit early on but it ended up being good enough once some people worked out how to take advantage of it. We can probably assume that the forms will be as good as the actual skill gems are since the mechanic doesn't seem to be so undertuned as to just make it inherently shit. Though I can very easily see this being a situation where the optimal shapeshifter is a gemling if much of the scaling is on the gems though.

Anyone here who uses the mace skill sunder? oddly, I think it can shotgun if you use the support gem called upheaval. Its weird but I think the first sunder can't shotgun but any following aftershocks can shotgun. My sunder seems to delete rares and I usually don't even break their armor because I am on resolute technique. I will stun a rare and seismic cry+infernal and dump a sunder which is usually followed by 2-3 aftershock sunders. Or maybe I am misremembering sunder from PoE1 and maybe it was always able to shotgun. Upheaval seems to make each sunder hit three times at close range.

poe2 sanctum falls into the classic trap where content with hardcoded rewards gets eclipsed by mapping if theres a way to scale up the rewards of mapping to ridiculous levels. its going to be in a better spot when breach gets gutted and the game gets made harder in general because sanctum is actually very easy and safe.
and to be fair there are some high value rewards you can get which arent too rare. against the darkness can be really strong and you get the unique relic like every 3 runs. temporalis is crazy good obviously so the relic is very expensive. grand spectrum jewels are multiple div. maybe theres also good time lost jewels, although i havent seen one yet and its hard to judge their value without having seen the passive tree of every build, i just know that for invoker and stormweaver the radius spots are ass

It's actually hilarious how this community is always patting itself on the back over how Path of Exile is for hardcore gamers and how Diablo is for casuals. Then, at the slightest modicum of difficulty (one teleport per map) everybody throws a huge tantrum, calling the developers 'out of touch' etc.

This farce of a community doesn't want an ARPG; they want a cookie-clicker game — no thoughts, head empty, zooming through T16 Titanic Exiles maps, picking up loot worth 10+ chaos only, purchasing Mageblood, instakilling a pinnacle boss, and then moving on to the next AAA slop.

Hardcore (the league mode) and races died for this.

I will say this though D3 was a good game when RoS launch but people like zizaran hates D3 which is so weird to me. There is however a group of people who will hate on any blizzard game (WoW bad FFXIV good, D4 bad PoE good, OW bad [insert generic heroic shooter here] good).

I try and be objective about things but i also think i may just experience enjoyment of videogames differently to the people who hate the things mentioned above (not saying im the biggest fan of those games above). However I consider myself a fan of PoE2, however all the things you mentioned arG completely true

i do find it funny that an exalt is 20c in poe1 while the game also gives you the ability to fill an extra mod slot with the bench.
im gonna be honest, the entire idea behind the crafting of poe2 is fucking awful. "make floor drops meaningful" sounds cool on paper maybe but its not fun to pick up every white item and slam it. its the opposite of fun. slamming good mods is cool the first few times but it gets old very fast. this "uhm you cant just reroll an item, you have to pick up + slam + drop floor trash" philosophy has to go.
the tiered rare thing is cool, i like the idea of an enemy dropping a tier 7 giganigger rare item and being actually excited to identify it. everything else involving white and blue items is atrocious.

funnily enough the meta crafting in this game is extremely overpowered, its old harvest levels of being able to target specific mods. so "just make omens more common bro" doesnt fix anything, it just turns the game into an item editor simulator.

thats the very highest possible roll for duration, which is inarguably the best mod for a stun charm.
the way it works is that the stun charm does not prevent you from getting stunned, but it gives you stun immunity for its duration afterwards. thus the duration is the only relevant stat if you are killing enemies quickly enough to refill its charges.

Honestly my only concern for campaign now is the length. I mean there still aren't enough good campaign builds but that'll probably solve itself with time, the gearing problem probably won't be too bad next league since everyone knows the good levelling gems now and the buff rates have been dropped so you aren't nearly as much at the mercy of RNG. I'm not sure the actual length will get better though even though every other problem should solve itself fine.

That's how it's suppose to work, but ones of the debuffs you can get from Trial of Chaos is monsters always apply poisons and bleeds. I have 19k ES, nothing ever gets through my ES, but sometimes I still get bleeds on me. I know it's nots the poison because that turns your health green.

I don't know if it's still the case but the first week was filled with people talking up how hardcore they were for not getting filtered by the game and then they'd post their gameplay or their progress and they'd always be way far behind the curve or playing some absolute ass shit that they thought was the best build ever. anyway the character in the webm uses a regular big stick (not potcg) and it also uses howa as basically a pair of really good rare gloves
with 200/165 dex/int thats 24% attack speed (50% better than t1 gloves mod) and 16-160 lightning dmg (100% better than t1 gloves mod)
so thats like 3.5 t1 mods already and then it gives like 1.5 t1 mods worth of attributes on top of that for a total of 5 t1 mods
i just said fuck it and hid all gloves in the filter because im not finding anything better than that

I guess I’m never getting my 3rd ascendency. This is the gayest shit I’ve ever seen in a video game, the most boring and unfun gameplay I’ve ever experienced as well.

I love literally the entire rest of the game. I’ve put in hundreds of hours building my character and now I’m stuck. I’ll play maps for another week or two but if this isn’t addressed I’m dropping the game forever. Glad I only ever gave these niggers $30. Was more than willing to spend hundreds and actually get really into this game in the coming years, but this is a non negotiable - I will not continue playing if this stupid shit remains, and I’ll take my money with me.

The nodes in question aren't really compatible with Chayula because of how they scale, though that might just be because Chayula isn't compatible with much. There're a few areas focused on things like armour break, daze and knockback that seem to be intended to be played with skills like wind blast and vaulting impact. A monk that plays keep away with survivability layers that take and recoup damage despite monk being ES/EV.

The drunken master might not actually be a meme. The best way to get a read of future ascendancies in general is probably just to extrapolate from the class areas.

Ive seen more people being filtered by it on fucking /Poeg/ and 1488 than i have any other place. Sanctum is significantly easier than most other games that it was inspired by (roguelikes). Ultimatum you only have to do once and quite frankly is easy aside from the 1 overtuned boss.

In fact the sanctum thing i think if your playing a ranger/minioncuck/spark (basically 60% of the ladder minimum) is actually trivial.

I can see warrior struggling with 1st lab, but 3rd lab would be so unbelievably trivial with HOTG being among the best bossing skills in the game. Its really no different from lab otherwise (unless your gonna paint lab as hardcore players only)

there's a lot more to xbow than meets the eye
example of bow vs crossbow:
to properly kill a boosted boss the lightning bow chud will have to invest a lot of currency into an awkward and expensive thief's ring + cast on shock set up
to properly kill a boosted boss the lightning crossbow chad will just use the free, built-in shockburst round

I've played both to end game in ssf on a deadeye, and there's really no competition, crossbow win in all categories

I have gotten some pretty insane luck on my chars too on hc, my warrior got that unique boar mace from the witch in act 1 then got the next tier of unique mace at farmlands. other char got 2x ghostwriths before cemetary, one perfect. On my merc I had a rare xbow drop off first boss act 1 that had multiple perfect damage mods on it. one char got a unique shield and a chest piece off the same boss that each had spirit on them.

I think I'm stuck in sunk cost fallacy land with my blood mage. I've somehow gotten to a point where I'm a knockoff sorcerer casting 11k Arc as my main ability. I originally wanted to main ice magic because I like the idea of CC and nukes but that got slapped hard in T1 maps. So I had to pivot. Now I'm sitting at like 4.1k ES, 1.5k life, lots but not fully capped resists, high cast speed.....and I'm still dying to t9/10 rituals and cannot complete breaches. I get stunned once and I'm dead. I get interrupted once and I'm dead. I have to flask and I'm dead.

I tried really fucking hard to find a way to make this shit work but I ended up as just a shittier sorcerer. What the fuck does blood mage actually do well? At this point I'm wanting to just run something else, but I'm disillusioned because all the things I want to do probably won't work well. My other want is to run a Witch hunter boss killer, but you clearly need massive screen clear to do anything in this game so single target is kinda pointless.

Feels bad. Real bad. Have the most beautiful booba I have ever seen for your troubles.

trading or exalt slamming some lvl 40 gear knowing that i'm just going to disenchant it in an hour feels bad. I don't want to use my exalts for shit that's only going to serve me half an act. In POE 1 a decent weapon could last you for about 2 acts until you start gfeeling weak, in POE 2 the weapon that feels godlike at the start of an act feels like a wet noodle at the end of the same act.

I got a mace before geonor that lasted me like 90% of act 2 and i was actively picking up every white / blue mace of the next few tiers and IDing them + adding blue orb to see if i got any lucky damage mods and i didnt find a replacement until the last area where the tier 5 or so mace had the same base damage as my act 1 maces total damage. I never felt like bosses had too much HP either, they died surprisingly fast in most cases. my rotation while leveling was basically leap slam into boneshatter to white out everything and perfect strike any rares. If i was doing like 60% of the damage i was some of the bosses might have been more fun desu, and i was using an act 1 mace in act 2.

It's literally the most bait node in existence. It might have some use in low tier maps in HC and for levelling but if you can actually start stacking ES there's no reason to waste perfectly good eva to double dip in shit tier armour. Like 6k-8k armour is completely unnoticeable for mapping with 80%+ evade chance, you'll never drop below your actual max ES with Grim Feast and completely useless for bosses, just click meditate and double your eHP there.
