Elena was around 16/17 in her debut and people, grown ass men came buckets when her younger version was added to USf4 and SFxT because back then nobody fucking cares about black girls. drop less combos/optimize them better (optimize for oki and not for damage, unless you know your combos suck dick)
know how to deal with spacing traps and learn to recognize them
literally do not use DI ever unless it's to counter DI, vs one of the like, 3 moves in the game it's guaranteed against, and burned out opponents.

Take a break. Being hardstuck means you need to integrate new ideas somewhere. Doing something else and reapproaching your play fresh is the best way to do this. Play another fighting game, play an alt, just play some other games for a bit, whatever.

Also remember that 1500 MR is statistically very, very good at the game, no matter what people will tell you.

The other ranks are a way to give people some time to learn like a grace period, if it was just Elo system on day one, then total beginners who cant link normals or do a special move will be fighting Punk, Tokido or just experienced FG players in general and have less fun.

Anyway I'm in low master and I enjoy casual games. Both because long sets are enjoyable and because getting more experience against bad playstyles is important so I don't fall for those gimmicks when they're pulled out by "better" players. I wouldn't bother tbagging and shit, and especially not on the first round, but eventually I'll start doing stupid shit in a long set with a plat player or whoever because I gotta have some fun.

the difference between this and the current pre-master system is that you can do asymmetrical point distribution so push those people up faster.

Nobody is saying the corner needs to be looping oki but perfect parry and normal parry is a mechanic in SF6 like it or not. It adds more complexity to almost all interactions but it's only real weakness right now is throw loops. You can't remove throw loops without doing something about parry

you press MP+MK at the time the boom would hit you, but they did screen freeze 1 frame earlier, so your MP+MK happens at a time where you can't act and you get hit by the boom when the screen unfreezes

I am aware of all of this, I just didnt know you could press MP for a frame then MP+MK next frame and get a parry so your other clip seemed stupid.
Anyway Tokido got hit and pressed parry after being hit, screen freeze didnt eat his input because tge input recording shows his input was just late.
Also he could have blocked either way.

He is literally in the first frame of the st.MP animation until the end of the screenfreeze. Without the screenfreeze, the next frame would change that to a parry on the same frame that the fireball would impact. He input perfect parry correctly and in time.

That is not Tokidos input you fucking pleb, that is anon taking control of the recording.
In the actual match Tokido is crouching he gets hit and then parries on the next frame as shown in the recording.
His super goes up and Ken enters the hit animation and there is no parry input until 2nd frame of being hit.

Just like Valle Custom Combos, high level players have been abusing anything since the dawn of time.
Also to be accurate I dont think he was deliberately timing it, you can see his DR input is imperfect but comes out instantly, hes just buffering the DR during his Sonic Boom recovery, so unless he knew that exact spacing creates the optimal timing he didnt do it on purpose.

this might be a foreign concept to a lot of people here but half of the appeal of fighting games is the challenge of having hundreds or thousands of players competing to be the best
sfv is, in my opinion, the most honest and enjoyable fighting game i have ever played, and from a purely mechanical perspective it's fantastic but unfortunately the community is now miniscule
sf6 is where the best players and best competition is at right now, and i certainly think its an enjoyable game, but its not my favourite from a purely gameplay perspective, but it makes up for that by having such a huge thriving community
i dont think ill understand people who can play ded games with miniscule niche communities, because no matter how good the game is mechanically, you'll never be able to soar to new heights and get to an expert level if you have 15 players in some shitass dead discord to play with over and over again until the end of time

They find playing the game fun, and there's almost always new stuff to learn and get better at in old games. People playing old games also are generally putting less time into a specific game. To be honest SF6 is a good game for people who are new to fighting games. All the flaws of the game only apply to oldheads and experienced players, but this game is for the new generation so we don't matter anymore.

In the past when they thought inputs might be hard for some peopel they made Charge Inputs, they very specifically designed characters around these inputs and it created new archetypes and playstyles.
Then they eventually made Ed and Falke in V and their moves are balanced with the quicker inputs in mind.
Then they made Modern which is broken so they just uhhh arbitrary 20% nerf (doesnt matter if it saves you from a stun or a jump in, you would have got hit without it)

I play Cammy and in Classic her Level 3 on reaction to projectiles is so easy it is ridiculous.
Sometimes I feel like I am an way too late and it still hits.
Same for Spin Knuckle.
Sometimes I buffer but I am pretty sure you can just raw input the Super against some special moves/projectiles and it is easy.
Cannot imagine how busted these moves are on Modern.

Yeah but the input takes a while, sometimes I am not even buffering it and still get it in time.
Obviously certain moves have less recovery etc. and I cant always get it but the fact that its essentially buffered 24/7 when you play modern is insane.
