Rawr! I come BEARing a new year gift for /mjg/!
This last month of december has BEEn very quiet with no tournaments so I decided to host one myself this coming month to celebrate the year of our lord 2025.
The theme this time around is animals, or to be more precise PREDATORS and PREY!
The gimmick is simple, the player who starts off (during East 1) in the north seat will be the PREY for the rest of that match and all the others are PREDATORS.
The goal is so simple a monkey could do it and all of it revolves around endgame placement and placement only. Throw away those numbers! Math books? In my Animal kingdom? I do not think so! A riichi is 1000 points? Whats a 1000?
No! it is time for you to let go of your animal side and show off your ferocity /mjg/
Will you dama like a stalking predator jumping out to grab the prey or will you chase they prey down to their last breath with a riichi?
At the end of the game players will receive points based on their role (predator or prey) and their placement.
A predator gains 1 point for every placement difference between him and the prey, but only positive. So getting 1st while the prey gets 3rd means you get 2 points total and the predator in 2nd will get 1 point total.
Every predator who ranked lower than the prey will starve with no points to their name.
The prey on the other hand gains points based on the amount of predators below them.
1 predator below you is worth 1 point (you being 3rd)
2 predators are worth 3 points (being 2nd)
and 3 predators are worth 5 points (being 1st)
