Everyone knows vanilla leveling is extremely slow, painfully so. There quite literally aren’t enough quests to get you from 1-60 and you will have to grind at some point. There’s also no quest marker or dungeon maps, so without any addons you won’t have any idea on where to go if you’re new. Most vanilla quests are some variation of collect X, kill Y, or kill Z for an item. All named mobs have stupidly long respawn timers for no reason. A ton of mobs share spawns with different ones, so you’ll end up having to kill other mobs in hopes the one you need spawns. Clickable quest objectives don’t highlight or anything until you hover your mouse over them accidentally. There are quests where mobs spawn in one tiny area, and you need to kill say, 15 of them despite there only being 6 spawns total. Quest items will clog your inventory, constantly making you have to deal with a full inventory. There are countless quests where you need to kill mobs for something, but the drop rate is so low that you’ll be grinding for 20+ minutes before finishing, or longer if you’re in a group because quest drops are player specific, not group loot. All of this was meticulously crafted to waste your time.
So why are there people who say it’s amazing, you ask? Who could enjoy this? Well, the answer is simple.
Losers.
Fat, jobless losers who can sit on a computer for 12 hours a day playing a video game. They don’t have anything to do or any family, so they can afford to waste hours mindlessly wandering around and grinding yetis for their greasy fur coats for half an hour. Normal people can’t do this, so leveling is even slower for them, which is why a lot of people don’t even make it to 60 because they lose interest.
